Only reason I am putting rumor is because SE has yet to come out and say it but with the actor of the lead posting this it might as well be as close to true as it can get.
Close if old.
Ella Balinska literally plays the main character in the gameNot sure who "Jay Anthony" is but I don't see any official source to this ?

I mean there's a reason they wanted this to be a new IP and not a new FF
Part of the appeal to me was that this would be a western-influenced game but still JRPG-esque given it's a Japanese studio, which would make it stand out more.now It just seems increasingly like we're get a big Japanese AAA studio trying to make a western game now, western writer, western composer.I mean there's a reason they wanted this to be a new IP and not a new FF
That's cool, but I hope it doesn't feel too "western" honestly.
If you heard the trailer music, it's pretty obvious that it is a western composer. It also doesn't sound like anyone Square-Enix has employed on the JP side.
he might be the bear in the game.

Edit: this
True, we don't get many AAA JRPGs these days so it's just sad. And personally JRPG music is typically miles more interesting and listenable to on its own than hollywood movie esque western game OSTs so :(They never sold the game like that though. So it's weird to expect that when it was never introduced like that.
I get what you mean though.
only reason I came in here

True. We'll have to see the gameplay. Just personally it's a big blow because music is a huge part of that JRPG feel for me :/ I liked God of War's OST, but it's no match for a Typical square JRPG OST.Maybe it will capture some of the the Metal Gear atmosphere through this.
Kojima is such a Westaboo it always felt like a japanese game trying to be as western as possible, even if in the end it came out very anime in some areas.
Even if the writer is also western, the director is still japanese, so I think it could still turn out a good blend.
It's still directed and produced by Japanese people if I'm not mistakenPart of the appeal to me was that this would be a western-influenced game but still JRPG-esque given it's a Japanese studio, which would make it stand out more.now It just seems increasingly like we're get a big Japanese AAA studio trying to make a western game now, western writer, western composer.

Well this news specifically makes part of the game good
It's like the only thing that's good about it these days.
Hard disagree, but okay lol.
"Your tone seems very pointed right now."
