More Half-Life in VR is all I need, baby. I know I'm not getting Portal 3 or L4D3, so just keep feeding me more Half-Life goodness.

Also, the sources might be legitimate but Tyler/VNN isn't. Don't bother crediting him with this.

Citadel is like the weird hybrid game right. Where a VR player was the game master and people that were playing on PC/console were going against them or something?

Can't watch the video atm.

is there a list of what's been linked so I don't have to watch a 12 minute video?
This is in the description

Aperature Desk Job has shipped with a significant amount of leaked information, almost shockingly so. Information on Citadel, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Source 2, a follow-up to Half-Life Alyx, and a few canceled projects were all discovered.

Didn't credit him, it's just a raw data mine, he just laid it out to easily digest

Valve still makes games, they released a major one about two years ago and it's a pretty monumental title for the medium of VR. Yes, of course they're working on more, even if they're not announced yet or coming out on the exact schedule people want.

Even if the source is infamous, most of this aligns with the contents of previous leaks, right?

I'm tired of the "Valve no make game lol" memes. They released a major game about two years ago and it's a pretty monumental one for the medium of VR. Yes, of course they're working on more games, even if they're not coming out on the exact schedule people want.

I highly recommend people either play or watch a play through of Desk Job! It's not much of a game but it is a really great short film about aperture science.

Yeah, VR players play as Gordon Freeman while flat screen players play as Combine forces trying to kill him. The official title is actually "Hunt Down the Freeman."

There's a paid demo up on Steam, you should check it out!

alyx is one of the best games of all time, and I could see valve making something even better with the training wheels off. citadel sounds...idk. could be cool.

Follow up for Alyx is all I want right now. Left 4 Dead 2 is still great, CSGO is still great. Gimmie Half Life 3! <3

I kinda understand why. During 2006-2013 Valve released
Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2
Portal 1 & 2
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Team Fortress 2
CSGO
DOTA 2

Their main stuff after those years was focusing on CSGO and Dota with the low releases of Artifact and Dota Underlords. Alyx is obvious a significant release and probably on the best games I played in the past decade but it has very limited access as it's a VR game that's stuck on PC so by those factors a lot of people are not gonna be able to play it by default.

Half Life 3 being scrapped soured people heavily on them too.

I am not surprised there's an Alyx follow-up on the horizon. With that ending and their seemingly new attitude toward Half-Life, I predicted we would see one in 2-3 years after Alyx. I think probably by now it's more like going to be <5 years after Alyx, but we'll see.

I am surprised the Citadel thing hasn't been dropped yet. I figured out weird Valve projects, that would be the first on the chopping block.

They generally have a lot on their plate on top of developing AAA

The hardware business is grueling as well as the software that goes with it, amongst other things

They decided to delve into other areas and expand whilst doing so, it's basically rockstar now, where you'll get a major title every so often

Right but I think for a lot of people that don't play on PC and just care for games the hardware side of Valve doesn't matter especially when some of their products looked unattractive or were failures like the Steam Machine or controller.

Valve is definitely a sizeable company but I feel that if they want to focus on software and hardware(especially if they plan to do more Deck stuff or the rumor wireless VR headset) they should definitely expanded more. Alyx had 90 people on it and that is pretty much 1/3rd of the people there.

Nice. PCVR's AAA drought post Alyx and Quest 2 (save for Hitman 3 and Lone Echo II) has been brutal. Give us all the VR Half-Lives (lifes?) Valve please and thanks.

I so, so wish I could handle HL:Alyx in VR, lol. I genuinely can't tolerate the poison headcrabs in VR, I'd rather get a root canal than face the headcrab nest area, just couldn't force myself to power through.

The fuckers honestly still petrify me in regular ol' HL2, more than anything in any game ever. I've generally got a decent tolerance for horror games (even if it's not a genre I enjoy that much), but those things just render me incapable of relaxing, ever.

Even as someone that highly enjoyed Alyx I'd rather not see the future of HL relegated to VR only, and I hope the next installment isn't VR exclusive

I don't know, don't valve always have a ton of unfinished projects? I don't know how much weight this datamine has in terms of, you know, actually getting finished products

Citadel will come out, the rest is entirely plausible for release, it's a look at what valve has under the hood at least as of apertures release

Citadel in particular we've heard quite a bit about and its actively progressing, we have entire systems in this datamine

This citadel game could well be interesting, but the way this dude just spends 5+ minutes reading out code comments makes it sound extremely convoluted.

References to four unannounced Valve titles have been found within the files for Aperture Desk Job.

In a video by YouTube user Tyler McVicker (which can be viewed above), the user claims to have discovered what he calls "the most fruitful datamine I have ever experienced as a journalist"

The files are said to contain references to four significant titles: "Citadel, some kind of follow up to Half-Life: Alyx, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's Source 2 port and a recreation of the previously cancelled Portal paint game."

It was reported last year that Valve was working on Half-Life Citadel, a game that McVicker described at the time as "Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm, an RTS, and Half-Life all having a baby".
