Love Ahoy, so thanks for the update OP.
Used to own the original X-COM game, which was bundled together with Syndicate in a big box Telstar budget release.
Didn't get far in the game because I used to be impatient as hell during those days. Gonna check the video out to see what I missed out on.

I was 11 when I played the game, really didn't understand the gameplay back then but I was scared shitless of the aliens.
My God all those nightmares I had back then lol. I do hope that Xcom 3 goes back to some of these alien design

I think we spoke about this before, but I wish Firaxis (sp?) would try to emulate the sim elements for the strategic layer. It's the only part of their take on the series that they haven't improved on.
