It was pretty obvious, but we live in an era where sometimes stating the obvious is pretty important.
It's honestly sad they had to address this. Of course it's not impacting the next mainline entry. Why some in the community actually thought it would is baffling to me.

Then those people are stupid. Microsoft made it clear all did was license out the IP.
Aside from the actual toxic trolls, I can't really blame people that actually don't know how these things work. Ske7ch is the Community Director and he did a pretty good job (like his actual job) with that tweet.

Haha yeah.. as the person who actually had to quote this exact message at people who were trying to claim MS was misinvesting in pointless arcade projects, there definitely were those people.
My reaction too. Never heard of this but am now definitely interested in hearing more.
