This is the video that initially got me into Giant Bomb. Man, I love Ryan. :(
It was, in fact I was going to quit making games altogether until he emailed me. I did a write up when the news hit that sums up just how much of an impact he made in my life: http://www.vertigogaming.net/blog/?p=2476I've never really thought about this, but I definitely did learn about CSD from the quicklook. Was that the first major coverage of the game? Sorry if you've told this story before but I'd love to hear it.

I love this story. The CSD quicklook is something I go back to often, and CSD has become one of my favorite games! I'm glad you found success chubigans, because if not, then we wouldn't have CSD 2!It was, in fact I was going to quit making games altogether until he emailed me. I started watching Giant Bomb content just a few months before this happened off-and-on, but listening to how genuine and familial the reactions were after Ryan's death made me realize the site was something special. Surprised it's been five years already.
Everyone needs to be commended for how they've kept the site going strong ever since, though. I think Ryan would be happy with where they're at now.
Same for me. I would watch their stuff here and there but seeing them go through that tough time made me a fan till this day. I don't think there has been a day that goes by where I am not listening or watching something GB.I know this is gonna sound weird, but his death got me into Giant Bomb. I knew who he and the guys from GB were, but I never saw any of their content. When he passed, I listened to the podcast they did after his death and thought "this guys are so different to everyone on this industry" based on how honest and heart felt that podcast sounded. Since that day I've following Giant Bomb and loving every second of it, and at the same time, I've been watching old Ryan stuff on youtube. He was an absolute treasure from what I've seen.
RIP Ryan, you wonderful, beautiful bastard.
Loved how the dude had chemistry with basically anybody, the host of hosts.
