I'm sticking with my Note 8. I've got no reason to upgrade as it's still a great phone and does everything I need.

Will definitely take a look at the Note 10 next year

This is tough. Additional battery is a big deal since I'm also on my phone all the time. Have you ever looked into a battery case? Or do those not really work/too bulky?
i have a zerolemon but rarely use. i got a slick 10000mah xiaomi qc3 battery pack when out and about, but have no issues charging my phone around the house and at work or in the car.

I will say I wish the Gear Sport came in two sizes ie small and large.

I doubt it, but maybe the Gear S4 will be that. Don't just give us two band sizes. Make the whole thing slightly smaller.

Hell I'll take a slightly smaller battery if need be to get a smaller device on my wrist.

What sucks about Android Wear?

I just got my first WearOS watch a couple weeks ago and I love it. Outside of a few nagging bugs which disappeared now, the only annoying thing is the battery life, I've gotten used to my old Pebble's battery life so having to deal with a battery that lasts less than a day sucks.

Two main issues

1) it's been stuck on this old ass Qualcomm A7 chip for years. Everyone* uses the same chip, and it's just slow.

2) Google seems to half heartedly care about the platform

*Everyone in Android Wear land. Samsung and Apple use their own newer chips.

** Also to note Qualcomm is finally getting off their ass to fix this sometime this year with a newer chip

OnePlus said their phone next year will be 5G and the OnePlus 6 might be coming to us carriers(probably T-Mobile). OnePlus is doing big things.

I need better coverage especially in doors, but I don't care about faster speeds at this juncture on mobile especially with data caps the way they are.

Samsung always has bad battery life. Probably all the Samsung apps sucking juice in the background.
Not when they used to put good, large batteries in their Note phones (before the exploding battery incident).

My Note 2 and Note 4 both had great battery life.

I like that T-Mobile has that new band that is suppose to be better in-doors (and over larger distances), but it sucks it's still barely supported by phones and even worse that it isn't in my city yet.

I keep coming back to wanting an LG G6 even though I own an XZ1C.

Are there any cases that cover the camera lense specificially? It's easy to scratch and lacks gorilla glass protection.

The G6+ is a bit much for my budget as I have to buy an iPhone 8 at some point this year so my only hope is the G6. Only problem is...

I can't decide between hifi dac vs wireless charging in the US model. 32 GB of native storage disgusts me so I need help choosing between G6 models.

Essential is doing a promotion (read: clearing inventory) where you can get their USB C earphones for 50. Gonna bite since I've been eye6them for a bit and 100 is way too much

So according to this leak, the Note 9 will have a 4000mAh battery. Does this seem like it would make up for Samsung's lackluster battery performance?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordon...galaxy-specs-design-camera-release-date-cost/

yep one of the earliest rumors. Seems pretty much confirmed now. At the very least should be better battery than note 8 and s9+.

Just a friendly reminder to clean the USB-C port in your phone using a fine needle to pick out all the accumulated and compacted lint if you feel the charger cables no longer go all the way in to "click" in place

Again? What's the betting it actually stays this time?
I'd give it a greater chance this time, since they already laid the ground work in 8.1 if you had a dark wallpaper. Now they give you the option of staying dark, light, or changing based on wallpaper. Also this is probably the final beta release so it's pretty much final.

Lol, thank you so much for this. And I was wondering why my cable won't stay in the port...

So my mini Gear Sport review.

Good - Rotating bezel still better than anything Android or Apple has done. Real water proofing is legit. I like my blue band. I like my health apps.

Bad - Nothing major, but I still feel like I don't need access to my notifications or time on my wrist. Like all of these wearables are great for exercise, but feel like just an extra luxury for everything else considering the pricing is like $200+ for the top end smartwatches.

TLDR - If you don't need the mst for Samsung Pay it's the best Android Smartwatch you can buy for the price. Wifey got mine for like $230 from BB as that was cheapest.

All of a sudden I want to try this and see for myself. Wonder is they have a demo of this moto mod at the moto shop. It would be really dumb if they didn't.

Some phone retailers have had demos in the past, I seem to remember a Verizon store having a demo area where you can try out different mods (like the projector).

Installed P DP4, and the weather is now displayed on the Always-on display. This is great! So many times I unlock the phone just to check the temperature outside, now I don't have to.

Fuck me...I never really bought too much into this whole "planned obsolescence" garbage. But the past 4-5 weeks, my iPhone 6S+ has been randomly dropping calls, hiccuping WiFi connections, freezing, strange drops in process/framerates. Weird.

When I mentioned that to some buddies the other day, they reminded me about the story Apple put out about how they DO throttle your device as it ages. Is that shit present on Android, too?

Not to derail this topic and make it about Apple, but you have the option to not throttle at the cost of battery life in battery settings. It will tell you the overall health. Also, you're eligible for the replacement program: https://www.macworld.com/article/3245168/consumer-electronics/iphone-29-battery-replacement-faq.html

Plus iOS12 is a few months away, and that will be a significant performance boost on older devices like yours.

Unfortunately degrading batteries are just a matter of fact on either OS, how they handle it differs.

No, I appreciate the info/education. I'll read into that. Anything to keep things moving until the Note 9 releases.

Android planned obsolescence is the company will stopped caring about the current phone once they released the newer one a few months later.

Man, they still didn't fix the hotspot in DP4. PS4 can't connect to PSN on Android P, no problem on Oreo.

Project Treble? I know nothing! Huh, there's an Android 9.0 coming out soon? Gee golly wiz Google, I'm confused, I only knew about Nougat, I swear on my life I didn't even know there is an Oreo!

The amount of midrange and chinaphones out there that are still releasing on nougat are mindbogglingly high, but I respect their balls for their blatant noncommitment to OS and security patches.

For others running the P beta: Do you also have the issue that can't scroll through your list of timers in the clock app? Or is this some weirdly specific issue only I'm having?
