I kind of feel perpetually like I'm 23 (will be 32 in a month or so) like there is part of me that still feels like an absolute fraud in the adult world because I don't really mentally "feel" different than I did when I was in my early 20's right out of high-school.

Hah same here. I don't really feel like I get older mentally, only difference is my memory is lacking sometimes and it's harder to come up with stuff.

I do feel like time has moved like a blur since I started working (which is also coincidentally 2011), but I guess those are the consequences of staying at the same job for 7+ years. I'm not ambitious enough and feel too comfortable to make changes... have only myself to blame.

There's also the social aspect: years in high school/college were a lot richer in terms of social contact for me, that dried out when I started working. Felt like a lot more 'happened' in those years compared to now.

I was 18 in 2011 and a lot has changed and happened for me since then, but yeah time just feels like it has been a year or so. Like there are only so many things I can remember and putting those memories together as a collective event feels like nothing ever happened slowly.

My 2011 self wouldn't even recognize me now so yeah a lot of shit has gone down in those years.

The world was supposed to end in 2012, and somehow we're still here.

Next year will be 10 years since I started dating my biggest college crush (2 years after college) and then got broken up with later that year. For me that's insane. Probably the single most significant event of my life in potential branching timelines if a Marvel-esque multiverse exists, and it's going to be 10 years ago. In another timeline I've been married like 8 years and might have a 7 year old kid or something.

I don't even know what the 2010's decade will be remembered for besides the rise of social media or cell phones, but the mid/late 2000's was about that too. Like this decade just blurs with 2005-2009 or so.

Granted the early 2000's, like 2000-2005 etc...do feel different than now. Back then DVDs were the hot new thing, phones were still those old flip top phones, there was no youtube even or online streaming, etc.

Honestly, the 2000s and 2010s don't even feel like separate decades to me until I consciously force myself to remember the Iraq War and other Bush administration fuckery.

OT I'm partially with you. After 20 I completely lost sence of time, if someone asking me how old I am I seriously trying to remember for couple of seconds. Also some facts, like Matrix being around for almost two decades still blowing my mind everytime I'm thinking about that. Same with games - why the fuck Bioshock needed remaster? In fact this remaster is also two or three years old I think. So yeah, there is something weird with perception of time.

My mind was stuck in 2000 for a really long time. Like it was 2010 and someone talked about something that happened in 1995 and I was just like "oh that was only 5 years ago, not that long."

Time is-a flying. I wonder if baggy jeans are ever going to come back in style. Skinny jeans have had a surprisingly long run.

This thread reminds me of the people stuck in the 70s when I was a kid. Or the people who never got over disco... You just reach a point and say "no, I'm good. I'll stay here, thanks."

Time does fly by as you get older, but nah, feels like 2018 to me.

Work on advancing your career. Find a GF/BF to spend time with. Start a family. Buy a house. Go on vacations/ travel.

Life is great. Go out and live it.

For me 2011 was a lifetime ago. It was before my 4 year relationship that just ended a couple months ago. I had a different job. Different friends. Lived in a different state. I can barely remember what even took place for me in 2011.
