I won my brawl based on nothing to do with my chosen cards and in spite of my opponent playing board clears with mage lol
Woo, finally cleared legend this month. I was stuck in a swamp at rank 1-2. But I was also screwing around, one time I was rank 1 4 stars and said fuck it... queued up a theorycrafted big paladin deck. Anyway, I actually did it with quest rogue and went 9-2 in the process with a 6 win streak punching through.
Thought I'd give an update from playing last night with your changes. Went from rank 5 no stars to just into rank 3. Cheap Shot is definitely the right inclusion. It kinda opened my eyes to a different play style too, since a lot of the time I'd get my dagger so powered up I'd just take the rest of the game so slowly. With Cheap Shot, if I knew I had enough removal with it, Sap, and Vanishes, I'd just start going face. It seems obvious but since fatigue was never a worry I ended up playing too cautiously often. I'm not sure if that cost me many games but playing quicker games definitely helps with ranking up.
I almost made it the whole way with one loss but right before getting rank 3 I ended up losing to a quick Murloc Mage, Odd Paladin, and one Shudderwock Shaman (there was one other loss for the night too I think but can't remember what it was). Quick decks are very difficult to contend with unless you get good draws, and Shudderwock Shaman is tricky since they can put up a decent number of taunts and also freeze. This loss was actually just from taking too much damage while trying to rush them down since I never got Leeching Poison, and they also ran Brrrloc and Glacial Elemental.
I think Kingsbane is being slept on a little bit. It does take practice to pilot a deck well but I feel like it has pretty good matchups against popular decks right now (feels great beating Recruit Hunters, Token Druids, Taunt Druids, Taunt Warriors). I love the playstyle of the deck too since I often get below 10HP just as my dagger is coming online and then I'll start removing threats while Doomeranging even bigger threats for heal. I can tell the deck works based on how often opponents will just leave. :P
PS. Worst game was a mirror match from earlier this week. They were running a version with Fal'dorei Striders but mostly the same deck, and my dagger was growing quicker than theirs so I had hope I could close it out. We ended up both getting to exactly 12 damage Kingsbanes so it was obviously going to be a draw. They just started roping every turn and I refused to leave since I considered myself a partial victor by having more cards in hand and health, and he also had a 50/50 chance of losing at one point by using his Blade Furry and having the buffed and unbuffed dagger in deck at the same time (real dumb, I should've just conceded since it was probably low stars on rank 5 at that point). I stuck it out by just doing odd things around the house and getting ready for bed but it probably wasn't worth it.

I completely missed HCT championship voting this time and only realized it's happening now by accidentally seeing it on Twitch with glorious 20k viewers. Seems like esport scene has declined a LOT when I wasn't paying attention. Like, was there even a notice for it in the launcher? I don't think I have seen one.

Yeah that was one of the many matches that made me realize how bad the double FoK was. Funny thing about that match though, I didn't know it was Kibler until Mobius and Pet Octopus told me.
My deck tracker cover my opponent's name and I usually don't check. I'm pretty sure I even squelched him after the wow emote lol.
Yup! With both cheap shots and all the sap, vanishes, and assassinate I tend to race other decks now.
My stats shows me being favored vs Evenlock and Miracle Rogue because I mainly race those decks now.

It'd enable a lot of combo decks at least. Card filtering isn't much of a thing in HS, Tracking is pretty much it.
I think Archaeologist is a lot better in constructed. Better tempo, better value, better synergy, and less random. Just can't snowball like cavern dreamer.
It's interesting to think how good it would be though. I'm conflicted. It doesn't exactly fit into constructed gameplans as well. it'll be outtempo'd by aggro and outvalue'd by control very easily. But maybe a generically good card like that which forces an unfavorable use of early removal is worth it.
Starting to feel like my curse, in diverse metas, is to get caught in the pocket meta from hell. Druidstone.
I've done a good job focusing on not getting salty while playing, but I have to admit Druids are making me irrationally angry.

I wonder if you can keep your taverns of time quests after the event ends or if you have to finish them before.
I could bet they can be kept, but if you reroll any of those after the event you get a normal quest
Something Toki said when I had the quests page open made me afraid they would literally go away, so I finished them.
When the event started my quests transformed into ones with dust. I assume the same will happen with all of them turning into regular ones
Started the season with a 12 win streak. I've been playing a lot of zoolock and I'm surprised it's not more popular. I guess if you're gonna play aggro, most figure you should just play paladin. I suppose they're not wrong. The egg variants are a ton of fun though.
Tournament was pretty cool. I watched most of it live over the last couple days. I don't like how they act like it's over on day 3. It's such a poor attitude. I think they should go full strength to the end. Prepare to win it all. Anyways, enjoyed it. Still dislike most of the casters though.
yeah zoo has been fun lately. playing a standard list? i jusrt saw a murloc zoo list on reddit that looks pretty fun. might try that as well as the standard one ive been playing.
Had a pretty good time running even warlock tonight. 3-0 in the mirror, 7-5 overall. First time playing it. Some really difficult defile turns... just need to approach it more efficiently and get that mindset of just counting and getting the numbers to fit with trades, hellfire etc.. It's only difficult when you're looking at a board of high hp things spawned by hadronox though.

got a beautiful 0-2 because of course I'm terrible at arena, but it's a nice discount for 2 packs, so I won't complain.
Wasn't sure of the date so I did finished everything I had yesterday. Got a 100 dust/gold quest today so not a big deal
Really wish you could ban classes on ladder. Played tauny druid and qued into 3 big spell mages
if I could do that, I would be undefeated as odd pally, right now the worst matchup I have are druids, and warriors, but those almost never happen
I remember, because my initial reaction was very positive. I just took them losing barnes for the full spell variant to become more common.
I think bunnyhoppor should have lost. Towards the end there were these key matches where he topdecked exactly what he needed.
I can recall him playing as a rogue and I think he got a leroy that got him lethal on an early turn.
Also, another time he got the weapon killing ooze in the exact moment after the opponent warlock equipped the skull with a hand full of demons, cubes and the copy minion.
but initial reaction were correct considering it took multiple expansions and round of nerfs to make the deck all that viable and it's still not all that great in the meta. The barnes variant at least had the option to highroll.
It's a very low-costed card and would be played in many decks. A 1-mana 1/3 that basically draws you cards each turn is nuts. Way better than Mana Tide Totem, though it obviously doesn't enable combo decks like the totem does.
I think I got that in a single night of playing. I'd never tried WoW before that other than the demo briefly.
...I would not recommend doing it in a single night, lol. I was following a rough blueprint for doing it as quickly as possible though.

Ha, they finally addressed the fact that Moonkin aren't really beasts.
But it totally ruins my spellpower beast druid deck. Dust refunds please.
Seriously though, it's fortunate that's one of the few beast cards that never ever was benefited by its beast tag.

I always thought of North Sea Kraken as a dragon for some reason. They need to show more of its body.
