This game looks absolutely insane. Like on a completely different level than FH3 (which I briefly played on PC again yesterday). I really hope they give the PC version more love this time.

Sad but true.

Motorsport continues to faulter while Horizon seems only to get better. Remember FM4? Those days are long gone.
Have you played FM7?

It's a much better, more diverse and even more complete game than FM4 ever was. And I won't even start talking about obvious things like graphics or dynamic weather.

I agree Horizon is the more fun series, but FM7 is the best FM yet. By far. As an absolute Forza veteran I totally stand to that. The fact they keep pushing out significant free updates with new features every month only strengthens that.

Horizon and Motorsport are to different to me to compare them. I like them both.
Dont agree with FM4 the peak also. FM7 is best and complete FM there is really. FM just needs a break i think. Its the problem of a simracer kind of game. You come at a point there isnt that much to improve and with FM being every 2 years that doesnt help also. I think a break would be good and launch it with the next gen in 2020 wich helps Horizon also with a extra year and can be 2021.

Yes, FM4 was the pinnacle of FM series, hopefully Horizon doesn't start going downhill after the 4th game.

I had the most fun with 3 (4 was great fun too), it had a great fun factor that 5,6 and 7 struggles to have. Im currently playing 7 a bit (PC) , but Im struggling to get motivated to play (almost 5 hours of playtime) more.

I have almost 40 hours in Horizon 3 and not even 5 hours in 7. Pretty sure I had around 30 hours in both Motorsport 3 and 4.

Thing is, I played the shit out of Motorsport 3 and 4, but with 5 and upwards the series went downhill for me and Im struggling to find the fun factor in 7. Horizon games on the other gives me the fun factor almost the second Im in and 3 was fantastic so I can't wait for 4.

Another fan of FM7 here too. Since launched they've fixed lots of initial problems. I love the dynamic weather and dramatic lighting. And it looks like today's update is going to make the game even better. I put a lot of hours into the game. In fact I've just paused the game to post this.

Currently chipping away at the latest Forza and i like it a lot actually. Think it´s the best since 3.
True. FM7 is the best FM yet.

As a Forza veteran I liked FM4 just like everyone else. But come on. Those nostalgia glasses shouldn't make it a better game than it is today. The driving physics alone don't stand a chance against FM7. The whole multiplayer eco-system, dedicated servers, the cars, the tracks, tuning, painting ... Everything is better in FM7 really. It's a much better package.

It's sad the game got a wave of bad news at its launch for having "microtransactions" - which in fact - it doesn't have. There are no microtransactions in FM7 (besides the car packs it always had) and no matter how often people will pretend that - FM7 doesn't offer any kind of microtransactions. That's a fact.

July update is coming today? Can't find info on that. Have a link? Thanks in advance :)

Never played Forza games before as I mainly game on the PS4. But as it's coming to the PC, I will probably be getting this if it gets good reviews. Is the handling comparable to some other games? Think my last driving games beside F1 are Driveclub and Hot Pursuit.

You are in for a treat if you've never played the series.

If anyone else was doing a 60FPS mode I would be skeptical. I'm expecting Locked 60 with the Forza brand.

It's definitely on the arcadey side and a lot of fun to play. You should try out the FH3 demo in the meantime, it's available in the Win10 store.

FM7 is amazing and without doubt the best FM yet.

But the series is in dire need of an actual engaging campaign. And no I'm not talking about making it a Bioware RPG lol

Copy/pasta of the old GT formula doesn't work anymore. Not that it worked all that great back in the day, but it still felt somewhat fresh with the first few games.

Also what they tried with categories or whatever they were called was just ... it just doesn't work. I understand where they came from with classes constraints and all that, but still. Hopefully they'll try to do an actual campaign for FM8.

As for Horizon 4, well, October can't come soon enough. I just hope they fixed that god awful rubberbanding AI which makes GT AI pass for an actual AI.

That old formula may still work but needs heaving tweaking. Having cars distancing you unrealistically during the first half of the race only to have them slowing down during the second half so that you can overtake them is ... I don't have the words. Find another way to make the races engaging without trying to emulate Outrun-style "races".

I dunno. So far, of course not. 60fps > 30fps. But a 60fps Horizon ... well that may make all the difference.
Nah, I love Horizon but it's lacking the car physics and competitive multiplayer Motorsport has, that's why they can live side by side. The biggest problem with Motorsport is it has no personality, I think even having radio stations like Horizon would go a long way.

Though I vastly prefer Horizon overall.

Didn't they have that mode in FH3?
There are no competitive ranked races in FH3, no. I expect in FH4 this will work similiar to Leagues like in FM7 with real ranks.

In FM3 there are clubs that can gain points together, that's probably what you are thinking about - but this is something different.

Man i need a good (and pretty) racing game to play on PC to hold me over.

Is FH3 (i've never even played a Horizon game!) worth it on PC? People playing online... any DLC that's mandatory etc.? Or is another PC Forza racer more played online?

Id just grab Onrush on PC if that were out to tide me till FH4. (been waiting... doesnt seem like it will happen)

I remember racing online where the racers were separated into two teams, red and blue. Points are rewarded based on the positions of each racer on each team. The team with the highest points at the end of the race would win. Was that 2 or 3?

Its like a cross between test drive unlimited, burnout, motorstorm and a bit of smugglers run. Amazingly fun game.

Been playing a lot of horizon 3 since the one x update and it looks and plays beautifully. 4 cannot come soon enough.

That's 3. But that's not a competitive ranking system, that's just the way team race scoring works.

Yeah, I see what you mean.

And that's why I'm curious to see how a 60fps Horizon will hold out against a 60fps Motorsport.

What a time to be alive lol. Two amazing car games, each with its own perks.

I jumped back into Forza 7 a few days ago after beating HellBlade.
The game just flows fun. The tracks, adjustable A.I. automatic car tuning(I hate tuning cars)
the sudden change in weather, car pitting when low on fuel, checking out the market place and buying some amazing fan liveries and car tune setups, its just so fucking much and its pretty damn enjoyable.
Its a whole package of sweetness and to think that Turn 10 released it in 2 years after 6 is just nuts.
I'm more of circuit based racing fan myself though so as good as Horizon is I trend to appreciate MotorSport abit more. And here's hoping that yeah they slow the series down to every 3 years,Motosport is great but needs to to breath and bring in more ideas. If they keep doing two year releases then pretty soon it'll feel like a roster update, heh.

Is the only option in this game going to be racing with and against other players all the time? I am not familiar with Forza so forgive me.

These are my thoughts as well. I'm no sim expert but I've really enjoyed 7 so far. Feels like a complete package.

While I also enjoyed 4, I never understood how some think it's the best in the series. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, wasn't that the Forza people were bashing because of the racing control assists due to Kinect support?

It was the most "complete" until 5 which, as an X1 launch title, had way fewer cars and tracks.

Also, if I had to venture into that territory, FM4 was probably the last many played, as, well, the Xbox One isn't exactly the same successful console than the 360 was.

That's true and a good point.

I was going to say, every time I've encountered someone who thought FM4 was the peak of the series, they generally hadn't played any games since then. Those who had, mostly only tried FM5, and not after launch when they added Nurb. There's no question from quality to content to features, FM7 is the peak of the Motorsport games.

It's really really really really really ****R-E-A-L-L-Y**** too bad that I've become so spoiled by racing in VR. It's SOOOOOOOOO hard to go back to racing on a 2D flat screen nowadays. Those of you who regularly race in VR know what I'm talking about. It's a true game changer! I'll still get this game and yes it's gorgeous, but all the pretty graphics in the world can't compare to the immersion and rapturous experience you get when playing in Virtual Reality. And with PiMax right around the corner it just makes it worse. Genuinely sad FH4 won't support VR this time around :( :( :( :(

I'd like to see the option there on PC, though I'm not expecting it. I've been racing in VR for maybe a year, and it's really cool, but playing on a screen is still a regular part of my routine.
