This turd of a cash grab:

Edit: Imagine a picture of Burnout Paradise Remastered's PS4 box art here.

Loved the original, first and only game I ever got 100% of unlocks and tropies in. Thought I would at least have some fun revisiting, but the UI, options (worst of all the HUD size) and online experience are so dated that I just couldn't get back into it.
And if that wasn't enough, it also froze all the time on my Pro. Worst 40€ I ever spent with EA, and I bought Battlefront 1's season pass.

Tearaway Unfolded. For months I saw "charm" touted as the reason to play this game, only to discover that "charm" was an excuse to prop up an otherwise boring game. My most regrettable purchase in years, and I say this as someone who also bought Mass Effect Andromeda.

Mass Effect Andromeda, just for the fact that I payed 80 euros for it while not even having finished it to this day. I liked the game though, just wish I would have waited a little longer before buying it.

I wanted a game on Switch that had an open world feel with drivIng after it released...

So ignorin better judgement I purchased Lego City Undercover... digitally... because it "ran better".

Still stings.

Only ever Driv3r. I was a kid who made some money at a summer job and was excited for my first independently purchased pre-order.
I learned my lesson and now don't pre-order. I also read several reviews and watch videos before making big game purchases now. Scarred me

Just not really what I was expecting gameplay wise. I sort of went in blind with this one since it was on sale through steam. I'll probably give it another shot at some point but I was turned off immediately with my initial try.

That car crashing game the Burnout guys made a few years back.
A handful of PS2 games I got from the bargain bin right before PS3 launched.

My bad. I should have done more research into it. Just wasn't for me. Empty, no progression... follow feeling. My friends quit after a week so I think I have I have 1 hour playtime on it.

While I find No Man Sky similiar, NMS takes a few hours to digest before the repetitiveness sets in. So I had a few hours of genuine curiosity and a little amazement on NMS before I lapsed... couldn't say the same for SoT.

One of the Tony Hawk games. It looked awesome in videos and it was terrible and hard to play in practice. Which was weird because I enjoyed the others.

Not a purchase but I rented Operation Raccoon City from Redbox and took it out and returned it after 5 minutes of playing.

To my OWN biggest surprise, as it's USUALLY totally my kind of game and I was super excited for it but... Yeah, the structure of the game and gameplay I immediately knew I wasn't into it. Art and overall presentation is amazing though.

This, fucking paid 26.99 CAD for this. Put like 2 hours into it. That's on me, I know.

They are patching the hell out of it and even removed the time limit but eh.

Prey.

Paid full price at launch, game looked SO promising, hyped.
A bug festival, a very poor audio mix (too loud, too quiet, why the hell this sound is here), absurd difficulty peak, boring gameplay.

Never again.

Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon so soon after playing Sun/Moon

The games are too similar early on and a vast majority of the new stuff isn't until late game/post game.

Okay, not within minutes, but within a few hours (which might as well be considered minutes by Xenoblade standards). This game is a slog and a half. I don't even care about the character designs, the gameplay is just shit and the exploration is boring as hell. It's a downgrade from the previous games in everyway imaginable.

Most recently, Vampyr. Aside from the soundtrack and some ambitious concepts, it is among one of the worst games I've ever played. Gave it a fair chance, about 3-4 hours, then deleted it. Digitally purchased off of PSN, so I screwed myself.

None , I'm very patient and have high tolerance for a lot of bullshit. Also usually I know what i like so I set my expectations accordingly and there are genres that I don't engage with because I know it won't be my cup of tea. The least I can do is give the game a shot. And even if it's not clicking with me, i drop the game around 5-20h mark. MGSV was one of few occasions that I invested 50h thinking it might get better sadly it never did so I deleted it and never touched again.

Recently, Terraria.

I got it because some friends were playing, and because I love Minecraft.

The first impression I had was how bad the menu was. There's tons of customization options, but you have to linearly cycle through them all. After fighting against the menu to make my character, I joined the game and it's night. There's a constant stream of enemies walking towards the base. Sounds cool, but in practice the combat is extremely limited, so it's just monotonous. Day came, I walked towards a cave and it got dark again.

They ripped off nearly everything about Minecraft's gameplay but lost the third dimention which really cuts down on the depth of gameplay. I'm refunding it.

Tales of Zestiria

I loved the tales of series and man I had bad vibes on the very first dungeon and when I got into my very first battle and I attacked something my brain fucking screamed NOPE and I returned that game the same fucking day.

Resident Evil 4 on PlayStation 2, to think that it both got released and purchased on my birthday kind of added insult to injury. I loved RE2, it was my first Resident Evil and I had a soft spot for Scott Kennedy, needless to say, I was hyped to play as him again.

- Umbrella Corporation, the looming threat which arguably served as the "main villain" of the franchise, gets dealt with in the friggin' opening cutscene. Yeah, okay [take #1].
- Killed the first small group of infected the game throws at you (which happens less than 30 minutes in), a few of them left behind gold. So, now RE encourages fighting lesser enemies? Yeah, okay [take #2].
Look, I pull off speedruns on the older "Survival Horror" entries, I know that you can pick up more than enough ammunition to re-enact a Rambo movie… But damn… It was a one-time trick, maybe, but until then RE was about resources' management: avoid enemies and save your ammunition/health items for a boss encounter, or clear the room and risk to find yourself with less ammunition+sustain damage. RE4 had me kill everything on sight, a few times it is also the only option to take in order to advance.

RE4, I know that, as a game, you deserve the praise you've received… But damn it if I don't despise you for setting the franchise on a different path; from a survival horror, to a third-person shooter… Yay.
Ironically, I enjoyed slightly more RE5 and RE6, I could play (and laugh at) those titles with a friend, at least.

Day one Switch owner and I was caught up in the hype and wanting the system to be a success.

Evolve

Looked like a fun premise from our friend group. Played for an evening, exhausted the premise quickly, have not touched it since.

Prototype on Xbox 360 was a big one for me. That game was just...not great.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze on Switch most recently. It's not a bad game by any means, at least from what I can tell, but I am just not someone who enjoys sidecroll platformers at all. But this one got such good reviews I thought I had to try it. It was a mistake. I have put in about 30 minutes and have no desire to continue.

Recently, Assassin's Creed Origins. I've heard nothing but great things, but nothing ever grabbed me. I even made it out of Siwa, just still felt nothing.

Prey. I was super hyped for it and excited, probably played for a half hour before I went to the store a day later and traded it in. Didn't like the gameplay at all.

Bloodborne. Back when the PS4 was dying for games, I was excited for it. Never really played any Soul's games, and this game was just not meant for me. Played it for like an hour and I had enough.

Monster Hunter World. Tried to play online with a friend, entered a loading screen, and then ended up with an error message and had to redo the entire opening section of the game. Game said "you can now play online with others" so we tried. Turns out you needed to complete three more missions before you could actually use the lobby system, or something like that.

Had bought digitally on Xbox, which, in Canada, doesn't allow refunds on games. Fortunately customer service allowed me to do a one-time refund. Nice guy.

hey I got one, VERY recent. Assassin's Creed Odyssey, got me HYPE. Bought this game the SECOND the steam sale was live to see what AC is like now...
header.jpg

I was OUT. 30 minutes and I was done. Refunded instantly
Clunky combat, bland generic missions... sorry not sorry.

How did you figure that in 30 mins, just curious.

Everything I loved about the prior two games is gone.

I was hoping for a Xenoblade X sequel, so I was already salty. The characters in this game seem stupid af, I hate the costumes and the story is lame. Not minutes in, but a few hours in I was done.

Same. The blurriness on movement made me sick, something I've never felt with other games. I played it for a bit, actively disliking it, waiting for it to click. Sold it back without finishing.

Horizon, noisy visuals, creepy character animations, collectathon gameplay.
Pokemon Ultra Sun, horrid tutorials, million pokemons in every bush.

Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I came to the quick realisation as to why I ditched the previous entries in these franchises too after returning to them.

Two Worlds for the X360 did this for me. I was hyped because I had just finished another 100 hour run in Oblivion and was definitely ready for another rpg game. Everything about the game from the writing to the combat was a let down. I returned it 2-3 hours later to the amusement of the people at Gamestop (probably because they only gave me trade in credit for it).

Monster Hunter. Looked cool but was not a game for me. I just wasn't in the mood for more tutorials and menus explaining weird mechanics that I didn't care about. No slight against the game though, it just wasn't my type.

Bloodborne. It took probably 30 minutes to remember the patented clunky gameplay that is the hallmark of a From Software product.
Never ever again.

The Witcher 3. It controlled so awful and the combat was so awful I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. I don't think a single thing outside of the writing/plot was solid.

Prey. I tried the demo and disliked it it. I'm a big fan of Deux Ex and had similar concepts so I figured I'd give it a go again. The second time with the demo didn't take. There won't be a third attempt.

ARK Survival Evolved (PC)

Game ran like shit, looked like shit, had shit gameplay and my character even shit himself. I can't imagine how fucking drunk I'd have to be to enjoy this huge pile of shit. How these kind of games with no real gameplay get popular, I'll never know.

STEAM refunds doe. Can't take my money with your garbage products anymore <3
