I 100% agree about enemies and bosses. It also bothers me when games promote their newfound exploration but it really means you're just trying to figure out what you can and can't walk on in order to pick up a glowing collectible in the corner. Way too much gate-keeping throughout, especially towards the end; lots of "we need to go here — okay we're here but we need a key from there — okay we got the key from there — let's go back to here — okay we're back here but something is in the way! Ready boy!" After a while, in a game like this, I just wanna get to the point; I feel like we're just wasting time.
Game is still very good, with lots to it's credit. Acting is superb, the story really stands out among the monotony we get nowadays. It maybe has the most satisfying melee combat move in gaming history; just hold down R2. When you finally get to the very end point, it's a satisfying moment, but as it has been mentioned, the last few hours leading up to it felt slow.
Some better use of in-game hours in the sequel, some more enemy variety, and a little more versatility in Kratos' traversal and it could be truly magnificent. But for a first game in this new format, Cory Balrog should be super proud.
