Went and got price matched at Best Buy. I called both my friends at the register to ask if they wanted a pair also but the manager only let me take home two of them. So I put in a pickup at another one and I'll just do that.

There's no way Walmart hasn't noticed this after a day and now it's effecting other companies, what gives? I'm all for everyone getting joy cons for cheap, but the fact that this is still a thing, is weird.

The management at my local Best Buy already knew ahead of time when I came yesterday so they prohibit that price match lol. They have completely blocked it.
The issue at least for me is the app is only giving me "sold by" and is not giving me any free pick-up today option at all..

What you're seeing going into the details view is a listing for another seller.
Looks like you were right and it was an error according to Wario 64's latest tweet . I was basing my previous post based on my previous job as as vendor in Walmart with access to their systems . They clearance stuff out all the time in stores that won't necessarily reflect on their web store .
Soooo which of you went to the Danvers, MA and then Salem, MA stores last night, sucking the stock up like a thirsty vampire lol

The 2 sets that I reserved for a pick-up order couldn't be fulfilled after I arrived, so they adjusted the price of a set of grey and a set of red/blue joy-cons for me. Even better!
I went to 4 walmarts last night and even though it was showing instock both in the app and on brickseek there was none to be found anywhere. Except for one store that had three but this guy in front of me bought all three, I was sooo mad. This sucks :( I was in a 12 hour shift when all of this happened so I couldn't just go and buy one. All I did was waste my time, waste gas and be extremely tired today at work :/ yeah, I really needed a pair too.
I've noticed this happened to friends joycons, but not mine. What it is is the matte finish has been worn off by the oils / etc on your hands. Everyone is built differently and some people's hands eventually wear off the finish. It happened slowly over time so it's easy to not notice.
It sounds like some stores pulled stock into the backroom instead of honoring the price drop until it went back up to normal price.
Yeah that checks out with my experience. They wouldn't sell them to my wife the other day even though they had them in the back room.
