Multi-player features for Starhawk will be terminated and no longer be available after June 30th, 2018. The single-player campaign and any other offline content will continue to be playable.
I haven't played it recently, yeah, but only because I didn't think it'd be shutting down fucking tomorrow. Not really well thought out opinions.Who are they going to give a notice to? Ain't nobody playing that game lol
They still have TLOU coming up, and if it's anything like the original it'll be mainly a multiplayer game for me. The MP was 1000x better than the campaign for me and one of my all time favorites, despite their worse-than-EA garbage tier micro transactions.I think they might have just totally ceded that space to big F2P games like Fortnite. It's a shame, because they really *did* make some awesome stuff. Warhawk is absolutely the stand out for me (best oonline multiplayer ever?) but stuff like Motorstorm, Resistance, Killzone hitting its stride, MAG, Twisted Metal. Even God of War had multiplayer, and it wasn't that bad!
this time there are 0 consumers to be anti
They likely messaged everyone in-game and directly via PSN.Sure, the shutdown isn't the problem here

It's bad precedent. I don't want to spend every day thinking I won't be able to play x game I had fun with a couple years ago with zero notice. That would irrevocably alter my gaming habits in a negative way for me, because frankly I'm not often in the mood for old online games. But that doesn't mean I want to play it one last time.Is this seriously an outrage thread over a game no one played? Holy shit. Are you forgetting how many times they warned about Gravity Rush 2 online going down? Demon's Souls? They gave so many warnings for those I got tired of seeing them.
Starhawk released in 2012. I'm genuinely shocked at anyone who still plays it. Wasn't even as good as Warhawk.
They are the owners of Starhawk that least need to be notified about the game shutting down. If I've been playing Starhawk these last few weeks, my behavior wouldn't change if I get notified or not.
How in the world is an online game being closed down without notice something that people are able to defend?
...you can still play Warhawk. Even today.Sony is really on a roll lately
Get it together for Christs sake.
I used to love me some Warhawk, that was prime pre cinematic Sony as far as I'm concerned.
It's already available. It's called Fortnite.Damn 6 years fly by fast to bad it couldn't be as great as Warhawk I spent years playing that.
A F2P Warhawk with just cosmetics would be great.
It's already available. It's called Fortnite.
Jk, they play exactly the same though.
What? You high? What? It's already available. It's called Fortnite.

It's not online only. I finished the single player. Pretty unmemorable. Its PS3 2012 online only game. . population has to be super low to non existent.
no big deal tbh.
Yeah, only on the store page. There's a difference between shouting from the rooftops that the server will shut down and not even bothering putting it on their server shutdown page with the rest of their shutdowns. To be fair there has been warning month ago. You can't expect a heavy marketing for a server shut down. It's normal if people don't follow this kind of info regularly.
Exactly!!!True, they're very similar.
I'm remembering how bad the gunplay & and the insta-kill grenades were lol
This doesn't even make sense given that the shutdown message is on the store page itself.well its bad for business guys, if they tell you they are shutting it down, you might not buy the game and it will affect their sales. so try to understand from their sales perspective /s
Is Starhawk even sold new any more? I think the negative press Sony may be trying to avoid is the more generally negative "Sony shuts their online down for another game" angle. But hey, if not enough people are playing it then it's definitely better to cut losses and invest elsewhere. I was super hyped for Starhawk when it first released but it just didn't have the staying power to remain relevant in 2018.well its bad for business guys, if they tell you they are shutting it down, you might not buy the game and it will affect their sales. so try to understand from their sales perspective /s
