Is there anywhere I can find a list of the major changes since launch? Considering coming back but curious on what's changed and what the community considers the main changes.

Figures I take a week off destiny and the faction rally starts. I even checked the events section in the official site, and it didn't mention it!

But it's been only a month since the last faction rally, right? Will there be more than three rallies total before Forsaken drops?

I have nothing in my vault. If I'm not actively using something I dismantle it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My vault contains most of the unique guns (Raid, Iron Banner, Exotics, Factions), Exotic Armor, Blue Mods & Transmats.

Since Armor itself does jack shit in this game and was not unique like D1 there is zero reason to hoard any of it

I tend to vault one of every gun I get (that's not being carried on a guardian). Makes things less of a headache after balance changes. Outside of that, shaders and mods.

I have to say the grind this time around definitely feels more oppressive. Bungie really does an excellent job of making me not want to play the game sometimes the new faction rallies feel like such a slog. You would think these would be a great way of getting people to log back on but they go and make it the most boring thing ever. I might not even bother with the sunshot catalyst I never use that gun anyway. Will probably just run EP for the sniper instead cuz faction rally sucks. Renown was a good idea but putting the catalyst at level 50 is just LUL

Faction Rally was probably their attempt at keeping players logged in. It clearly isnt working - though it is a step in the right direction - but they will probably refine it more in Season 4 / Forsaken.

Are Prestige raid lairs getting per-encounter changes?

Nope! When we originally created the raid lairs, we wanted to focus on making the normal modes of encounters the most complete forms of the experience. We believe these modifiers and loadouts will create more variety in your Prestige gameplay than small, per-encounter changes. We also believe that the mechanical complexity in Destiny 2 raid lairs is very high, and we want to lean more into the moment-to-moment sandbox engagement in Prestige.

so eater of worlds prestige was delayed to july so that they could put in modifiers and loadouts, and NOT include per-encounter changes.

LOL Faction Rally begins 2 weeks later. Sheesh

  • Players will be matched using their Glory rank
    • This means your opponents will be of similar rank to you
    • The higher you climb, the tougher the opponent
Lol, here come the paid recovs for Redrix

400 Power Weapons: The only way to get 400 Power armor before Forsaken is by participating in the Summer Solstice event, but the only way to get 400 Power weapons before Forsaken is by completing Prestige Spire of Stars and Eater of Worlds. Every time you complete all the encounters in a Prestige raid lair that week, you will be rewarded a 400 Power raid weapon. This can be any raid weapon from Destiny 2, not just the weapons that drop in that raid lair.

Ok, that is interesting. I'm down with it

even though i'm hating the prestige raid news, the shader stuff and collections news is awesome

Is there anything I can dismantle before Forsaken launches?

If you have an item in your inventory right now, you can safely discard it and retrieve it from Collections in September. This does not include consumables, so hang on to those if they matter to you.

If I dismantled something previously, will it be waiting in my Collections this September?

Your Collection will begin with every piece of gear that you were holding in inventory or within your vault upon the launch of Warmind. If you had dismantled an item prior to May 8, it will not be available within your Collections.

freedom for my vault which is at like 295/300

It's really not that bad if you avoid the mind-numbing and boring grind or farm of the Titan or EDZ loop.

I've done the Daily Faction Challenges and Milestones (to mix up the game modes and avoid monotony on each character) while just naturally running into tokens here or there (destination scannables, etc) and I'm approaching 800 tokens with zero grind or farming.

Tying Catalysts to Factions removes the foundation of what the factions are supposed to be to the players in the first place, it was an awful decision. Without the Catalysts though no one would care about this event so with that it still remains a complete and utter failure to me.

Curated loadouts = mind numbingly retarded

We waited this long just for that.

I mean...I'll still do it and still beat it. But gee....sounds fun. Thanks...

Next faction rally 2 weeks after this one ends....and I'm travelling again. Guess that's 1/3 rallies I get to participate in. Stupid Bungo....those catalysts better be easily accessible in year 2

Glad I'm under 200 pts to Claymore with these upcoming changes.

I'm curious how truly competitive it will be near the 2100 glory range. Also that guy that you and igor and such faced the other night while igor was streaming that had like 4k glory but a 0.8 K/D is gonna be in for a bad time.

On the contrary, I'm very much looking forward to them. It's a good way to spice up the encounters, and it's only limiting you to a weapon archetype - still opens up a lot of potential for interesting loadouts.

It's a great way to offer content replayability and focus on the strengths of the game - the shooting and the sandbox, rather than invest into tougher, more complicated mechanics for already mechanic heavy lair(s).

Good job Bungie!

How is it that they're doing IB again next week and the a faction rally right after and then presumably no more faction rallies for the duration of season 3?

Mid-july the focus is on the prestige lairs and crucible changes, then end of july is the summer event - so the idea is to be done with factions and IB before the new stuff comes in.

Summer event will kick off barely a month before Forsaken, and if the Armsweek API stuff is accurate, should last for multiple weeks.

So ALL quickplay is going to 6v6? Didn't know that, not sure I love it...

6v6 feels a little hectic, crowded and random on these maps.

No Supremacy is good though.

Curated loadouts in raid lair sounds cool.

All in all I like it!

I've never particularly liked it, mostly because it's a reskin of Kill Confirmed, or Headhunter if you want to stay in the Halo tracks, but it's fun to thwart other teams by playing the objective and making sure to deny crests ASAP and grab crests instead of sitting back and sniping. I've had multiple games over the past couple of weeks where I have a 100% Crest recovery rate.

It's just too long.

I think I'm the only one that likes supremacy. Never saw the problem with it.

I don't really like Supremacy but I get the point. It forces you more to CQC and CQC loadouts (in theory, in practice Graviton is best for every range currently). Whereas clash people can just sit back the whole time, Clash orients more to scout rifles (or in this meta, more Graviton). For a passive lane player like me Supremacy forces me out of my comfort zone a bit.

OTOH Control also forces a degree of CQC (fighting over zones) compared to clash so it's not like that aspect completely goes away.

I'm a bit torn, without Supremacy it's only clash and control which doesn't seem varied.

OTOH, at the end of the day I don't really like Supremacy so, yeah.

Great! I hate even more mechanics.

This is awesome actually.

loadouts are ok if they're only one of the prestige modes. more mechanics are what has been the standard for all of destiny, and now they're getting rid of that.

what i'm more puzzled by is why it took them seven months (EoW release in December last year), if all they're really doing is restricting loadouts and adding modifiers on a rotating basis.

I'm personally tired of playing tag. Spend more time chasing and looking for enemies than actual gunplay. 4v4 is garbage no matter what map or mode. 6v6 is a lot better.

Good job Bungie!

I'm just not a fan of devs telling me how to play their game, especially a game that is meant to give players ample agency

No one asked for this. In fact, there was a lot of backlash. I'd rather see new mechanics, instead of waiting months for a handicap that could have been implemented in a week or so. It's a half assed means of making things more "interesting". Make it a separate thing for shits and giggles.

And catalysts being "rare" drops. Let's see how much of a shit show that RNG is.

Theres really not much you can do with new mechanics, this is the best they can do besides just bumping up the level requirement. Its not like theres dogshit guns now, you've seen all the joke meme kills the Redeem boys have been doing.

I fully expect the Prestige catalysts to be a ~1% drop rate like everything else. If that.

I don't mind the idea of curated loadouts as a modifier. As an ever present thing, I dunno. I think the novelty dies the first week the loadout is Sidearm/SMG/Fusion Rifle. I guess challenge modes are dead after Calus too. They never really talk about them and they've certainly never brought up a challenge for Eater or Spire. I was fully expecting months ago that no one could cook and shoot a head in Eater, and figured Spire would be none of the empowered people could go up into space more than one time in a phase. Ah well. At least there's no relearning or reteaching anything.

I'll probably be so burnt out by the end of Faction Rally that I'll take a break til Forsaken anyway.

Only til we get this one:

This is literally the coolest looking Warlock outfit. We need more rustic and urban looking Warlock sets that look more like dusters and overcoats. Too much of these fancy looking robes.

I wish I had realized Dead Orbit was offering a Graviton Lance catalyst before I pledged to FWC...

Sunshot catalyst ain't too bad either, because Sunshot is a top tier PVE weapon. Unless you play a whole lot of PVP where you definitely want that GL catalyst, its not too big of a loss.

I don't see myself taking part in the third faction rally. Already struggling to force myself through this one for FWC. Don't really care for NM and the Sweet Business catalyst.
