https://wccftech.com/h1z1-breaches-10-million-players-ps4/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

H1Z1 has surpassed the rather impressive milestone of 10 million players since its Open Beta launch on PlayStation 4, Daybreak Games announced today, only about a month after the late May debut. An infographic detailing all sorts of statistics has been shared for the occasion, as customary these days.

To celebrate, the studio is giving all players who have downloaded H1Z1 a Darkfire Pickup Truck and Sunrise Parachute in-game skin for free. Players that logged into H1Z1 prior to 11:59 PM PT Wednesday, June 27, 2018 will be granted the in-game items directly to their inventory this weekend.

H1Z1 is also getting a new update today, which will introduce the Revive mechanics so that in Duos and Fives you will be able to revive teammates. Other additions include aim acceleration adjustments (currently, when you move your joystick the speed at which your character moves and responds is a linear acceleration, which led to some feedback that movement and aiming don't feel very responsive.

Very cool. With the success of this and Fortnite, PUBG really missed an opportunity in PS4

I just started playing this last weekend. I tried on my own but didnt really like it, but godamn playing in Duo with your friends is a ton of fun. I was actually thinking last week that there should be some kind of revive mechanic in team modes. Welp, there we go.

How is this game anyway? I haven't tried it or talked to anyone about it.

Also, 10 million players isn't enough, matchmaking must take forever. We need crossplay with Xbox. /s

Didn't think this game would be big at all when it launched. Congrats to Daybreak~

Man that PS4 userbase must be nice for online games. I wonder how small PC SFV would be without PS4. What if SFV went free to play for season 3! More skins, and taunts.

Isn't 'aim acceleration adjustments' what many people here hoped would never happen? Truth be told, aiming felt pretty good as it was.

So, is H1Z1 now the second biggest Battle Royale game on console platforms. And by a considerable margin. Don't know what the deal is with this coming to PS4 first (probably the obvious, being a PUBG rival). Another case of making a multi-platform game's 'home' PS4. Good deal for PlayStation and gives the devs some leeway to push for better prominence on the PSN store etc.

Performance is great so I hope a graphical upgrade is on the way too.

F2P Battle Royale games are pretty much a license to print money right now. Especially on the PS4 where the playebase is massive and you don't need PS+ to play them online. Of course same goes for PC.

Nah. There is just no BR alternative on PS4

On PC there are at least a dozen BR games and a lot of them have a very small playerbase

The game took some getting used to after playing PUBG, but its a good fit for console. Minimal inventory management and an accelerated pace just makes sense. I wonder how aiming is now. I just got accustomed to it.

Pro tip : Always drop to a vehicle when you initially fall. Vehicles are a pretty big piece of the game (especially end game)

PUBG isn't f2p though and has still been selling extremely well on Xbox. Of course they'll sell more once they are on PS4 but that preview program has been a must for them.
If PUBG is coming out on PS4, they have to do it before BLOPS 4 comes out or Blackout will have everyone's attention when it comes out

Damn, insane numbers.
Wasn't really a fan of it personally, everyone just driving around at the end really killed it for me, did they ever do anything about that?

Thats really impressive numbers, and its really quite a fun port of the game. I did actually quite like how it didn't have revive for the team modes, helped set it aside quite a bit, but not like i'd oppose its addition or anything like that.

It is really interesting that it has taken off so big on PS4. It is all but dead on the platform it originated on after being the dominant title. Sony had a big hit they could have exploited much earlier on if they had known how big battle royale etc. would become.

I enjoy playing this game. Wish they would get good revenue and invest in beautifying the map somewhat. Lets get to work on improving and differentiating building interiors folks.

If this game has 10 mil(congratulations btw), just imagine what *phenomenons* (as someone kindly explained to me) like Fortnite have as a player base, insane numbers. No wonder they don't want to give their piece of the pie to other consoles, just Sony's alone is probably bigger than the two combined.

User Banned (1 day): Platform Warring + Conspiracy Theories
The developers said there was no early access program available on the Xbox.
lol BS. Xbox is the only console which offers proper early access for games. Sony obviously paid them to say all this nonsense to make Xbox look bad, typical Sony.

Also this free to play, so not a big deal if it reaches 10m on platform with 80m users.

Wow! 10m in this game even though PS4 has Fortnite, so seems like PS4 has huge active user bases with F2P games and I can see why Sony is against cross-play.

Very impressive, congrats to Daybreak. Hopefully this succeeding allows them to bounce back from the layoffs they had. Also shows there is a market beyond Fortnite on the console. Still trying to get my friends to play, hopefully we can all get on it soon.
