Wonder if Samsung will start using two stage camera shutter buttons. Or maybe that pic is of a side mounted FP scanner?

Anyways, I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to Samsung phones after my current phone starts showing its age, unless the 1+6t or 7 has no notch.

The notch is ugly on this.

I don't think I could go back to phones this small, but it's crazy that the Pixel 3 would have basically been my ideal size.

I really hope they don't skimp out on the ram.

The people deserve better for the money they're dishing out.
That has the be the worst notch I've seen yet. Fucking disgusting.

They better figure out a better solution for the Pixel 4 XL when I'm due for an upgrade.

I don't understand how this hasn't gotten more play on tech sites. For the last 8+ hours, all Google Chromecast/Home devices have been rendered entirely non-functional (even timekeeping and alarms have been disabled).

Third party Home devices still have some functionality, but can't stream music/podcasts.

I haven't seen any official statement from Google, but Twitter replies from the Made By Google account acknowledge the situation.

Does Messages for Web not have an audio notification when you get a new message?

I switched from Hangouts to Messages (on Project Fi) and I'm missing the audio notification... ;/

I'm liking the pixel 3 and am leaning towards it but if they are going to charge the same prices as last year and stick with 4GB of RAM I can hold onto my S8 a little while longer.

My home mini worked last night and this morning.

I enabled the setting for continuous listening and the experience is so much better now

Yellow phone? ewwwww
To be honest a camera upgrade and better fingerprint sensor position is the only thing the Note 9 needs (aside maybe a version without the stylus with bigger battery :P).

Something different. Also never had a physical keyboard phone before.

Went from razr flip phone to iPhone 3g
Man, you missed some of the best keyboards.

Nokia E71, Nokia N97 Mini, BB Bold. I wanted the Nokia E7 so much even though I had a N8 already lol. Dat AMOLED.

God, I wish Nokia had followed with Meego and released the damn N950. Fucking Elop.

Sometimes I'm tempted to get an E71x to play around.

I would love a modern take on the 1020.
No one has the balls anymore for that.

Lttp I got this for father's day...

AT&T sent me a fuck you text for loading your picture.

Wait what? $2000 for a phone? Am I missing something here?

Also, seeing that watch above reminded me that my wife wants a smartwatch. She had an Apple Watch before she moved from iOS to Android. The things she liked about the Apple Watch were the water resistance and the slightly more feminine look. A lot of the newer-ish Android watches are quite masculine looking and they have huge faces. Any suggestions?

Android Wear sucks still.

It's either get a Samsung or else get something 3rd party like that Fitbit.

My wife got herself one of the sports too. Then I think she's just gonna give her old gear fit 2 to one of our kids.

Phone prices are getting crazy. Time to pop this bubble. This generation is the most expensive/ugly I have ever been through. Why can't there be a decent flagship at a decent price that doesn't look half bad. I may just pick up a S9+ on the cheap cause I know the Note will probably cost a fortune.

I'm worried about the price bump on the Note. I might end up buying a Note 8 if the cost is as obscene as I'm worried about.

What sucks about Android Wear?

I just got my first WearOS watch a couple weeks ago and I love it. Outside of a few nagging bugs which disappeared now, the only annoying thing is the battery life, I've gotten used to my old Pebble's battery life so having to deal with a battery that lasts less than a day sucks.

Pixel 3 XL...terrible design. At least the Pixel 3 looks fine.
Those top and bottom bezels are fucking insane, are you kidding me?

Button looks like the Xperia fingerprint power button
Speaking of which:
https://m.gsmarena.com/potential_zt...t_a_screen_on_the_back_instead-news-31916.php
Behold, the dual side buttons! Because why not?! Also features no selfie cam, but an entire screen on the back to cover that ground. Pure magic.

So it sounds like the Note 9 isn't going to be much different than the 8. At least that's what I took away from the article.

So should I just pony up $500 for an 8 on Swappa and move on?

Sony, ASUS and Vivo smoking that good stuff. Well, at least Vivi is delivering something different. Sony thinks it's 2003.

s7 edge died in a horrific accident today, involving me forgetting it was on my lap as i was stepping out of a car. had dropped it so many times, so surprised the screen finally cracked

i need a new phone, and headphone connection is a must. dont really need a super phone, the s7 was still doing a good job for me. thinking of getting the lg v30

Will be cheaper when note 9 launches.

The bigger battery is pretty important imo.

I love my note 8 but it's easily the worst battery on a phone I've had in years.

I got wireless charging pads all over the house and work now

Samsung always has bad battery life. Probably all the Samsung apps sucking juice in the background.

More note 9 leaks

https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_gala...vealed_through_detailed_handson-amp-31949.php

Bluetooth connected stylus is the biggest change not known yet. Not sure what's the point.
If the stylus is Bluetooth that would mean you could potentially unlock the device (if the stylus is a trusted device), that must be why it might need a finger print sensor on its button (if that is what that picture is showing).

Wonder what the new AOD feature is they're talking about, and why it might not be ready at launch.
