I finished season 2 now and i don't get the hate in reviews. The actors did a fine job generally, the plot has its problems for sure but i don't find it so bad. Ghost Hanna was probably the worst thing of the season but imho this one was better than the first. I would like to hear some opinions from you. What did they do well and wrong in the show? It's a 7/10 for me.

edit : Tony , Tyler and Bryce are great characters, i mean they played them really well.

Terrible. Talking to ghosts, dragging on the story, brutal rape scenes that did not fit and were made to get attention, all and all just an unnecessary and boring season. It also made my hate Clay as much as I have hated any TV character.

I thought the thread title say "13 Rosannes Why 2" and for a moment I thought someone invented the most problematic tv show ever.

Yup you are right about Ghost Hannah but i think that
the scene where Montgomery beats up Tyler in the bathroom is exaggerated but fits the character. He is a dick for 2 seasons and even Bryce tells him to fuck off.

I forgot about its existence, might only watch it later because the actors are cute.

Greatly dragged down by:
-Ghost Hannah
-Retconning (Hannah and Zach, etc.)

Cut the above out and reduce the episode count to account for it, and this would have been a much better follow-up to the first season.

Retconning didn't bother me and I enjoyed it for the most part. The bathroom scene was horrible to watch and the ending was a complete wtf

Rewriting history cheapened the plot and impact of the first season. Add in ghost Hannah, the shock value scenes that seem shoehorned in, and filler, you end up with a pretty mediocre season 2.

They rewrote the original plot, and not in a good way. Ghost Hannah was plain stupid. The season was too long, there was so much boring filler.
Watched it with my wife, we constantly rolled our eyes. Some characters felt like straight out of Beverly hills 90210. Season 2 was unnecessary in the first place, but they somehow managed to even make season 1 worse.
2/10, not going to watch season 3.

Nothing happened in Season Two.. Literally nothing of any consequence happens to anybody and the multiple story lines go nowhere. It was 13 hours of padding.

Posted this in the Main Thread:

The entire court case against the school, the main focus of the entire season? They were not at fault... nothing happens.
Those pictures of girls getting assaulted, the second main plot point of the season? Pictures burned, nothing happens.
Hannah is in one of those pictures? OMG it's.. nothing, nothing happened.
Bryce is exposed and found guilty of rape? 3 Months probation we don't see and... Nothing happens, he's still there with the gang.
Justin goes from being a druggy to cleaning up an being adopted by a family? No.. he's still a druggy, no changes... nothing happens.
Tony beats the shit out of three people while on probation? Nothing happens.... he's alright, no jail time.
Marcus gets exposed as being a womanizer while his Dad is running for Governor? Nothing happens...
Tyler is teased as being a school shooter for two seasons? Nothing happens... they talk him out of it.

Gooooo Tigers!

It looks really bad from what others are saying, so I avoided it to not give money to the showrunners.

Complete nonsense

Like really really bad and i liked the idea of the show after Season 1.

School had a rape room for athletes and it didn't help that the actors look like mid 20-30 year olds.
All the people don't seem to have parents that care at all and the school authorities aren't existent either.

Nonstop whining while changing into a complete different person 5 seconds later just to keep the "story" somehow going.

Clay at the end turned into Naruto and talked Tyler simply out of it which would never work in Real Life.
On top of that Tony auditions as it seems for the next Fast and Furious Movie.
They clearly changed the ending because they were afraid to go all the way and because they wanted to go for a 3rd season.

I liked and respected the 1st season A LOT since the book was something really special to me in my teenage years. The second season ruined it at a point it almost tainted the first one for me. Felt really cheap and a cash grab. Polaroids? Really? ''Hannah wasn't an angel?'' GHOST HANNAH? Couldn't pass that. I burst into laughter when she first appeared and couldn't go through after that scene where she replaces Skye when Clay is trying to have sex with her. What was that talk about self-harm? It just felt so disrespectful.

Many people judged the book's author because he is a guy and all, but he understood those issues much better than the show apparently. Then I read about the broomstick scene that happens later in the season and I dropped it for good. That second season shouldn't exist like it did. It would be better if they made it an anthology.

I dont know but did the showrunners forget something?
Justin said to not be mad at him for saying something at court about him and Hannah. Then we see his court scene and he didnt really say anything new.

Also changing the original story with Zach, finding out Bryce and Hannah were "friends" for a short time. Felt really cheap.
