what a strange comment to make as you weren't forced to watch those in qb either.I wasn't blown away by the first trailer, but it's Remedy so I'll definitely play it and give it a shot. Already has an advantage over QB because you won't be forced to sit and watch 20 minute low budget Nissan commercials. ;)
This looks and sound very cool, very interested in this. Did they say if it's linear like Quantum Break or linear like God of War(with side quests and more open).
Actually, the press release explicitly mentions a 'sandbox' environment.
This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience built on the proprietary Northlight engine challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.
You could like or hate the idea, but they were an integral part of the game and its story so yeah, you had to watch them if you didn't want to miss anything. It's just for me (and probably for many others) they were a huge miss from a game design perspective, they should have had some QTE's or interactive moments for additional choices and they were also bound to fail in a game like QB because of lack of proper budget to make them look cool.what a strange comment to make as you weren't forced to watch those in qb either.
Not really. They were completely optional and didn't change the way the actual game played out or the actual story or the game. You could like or hate the idea, but they were an integral part of the game and its story so yeah, you had to watch them if you didn't want to miss anything. I didn't like the TV show either but saying they were mandatory to watch is nonsense. You could have skipped them and it wouldn't have effected your enjoyment or understanding of the actual game.
The story in QB was pretty goodPlayed and enjoyed QB but, from the trailer, this looks like a better game :
gameplay felt smoother
no time lost on selling us a bullshitt story
Let me tell you the story about the development of Max Payne 2....I know it's almost forbidden to say lazy dev here, but... it seems like a short effort from remedy.
And let me elaborate on that. Northlight engine is beyond amazing (despite the low resolution reconstruction technique that clearly strikes the image quality heavily), but everything looks Quantum Break to me.
The color pallet, the effects, the "glass shattered effect", the skills, even the character movement.
I don't know where Remedy stands at this point without Microsoft, but coming from them I expected a lot more. Specially 2 years after the release of Quantum Break.
Remedy is well known for quality products and from a very distinct approach to narrative driven games. Was expecting something bigger.
Dunno if posted yet, but there's a bit more of gameplay on this video and a really nice interview with the Narrative Lead Anna Megill.
Honestly my greatest surprise from this E3. It seems the game is quite far along, hopefully it releases early next year.
CONTROL was the most interesting game shown at E3 for me. But one question: Does CONTROL have an Antimemetics Division? ;)Hi all,
thanks for all the discussion on our game. So glad we managed to keep things a secret.
We documented our travels, trials and tribulations regarding E3 into a "miniseries", which you might wanna check out here. Tried to keep it raw and dynamic and well, quirky too.
Awesome, ty for stopping by! This game has a LOOK. Can't wait to play it.Hi all,

That's great! Will check it out later. I know there's no realease date yet, but can you give us an estimate? 2019? Fall? Winter?
I really loved Quantum Break, and I still believe it's one the best time travelling stories in all of fiction. So, can I expect the same narrative quality in Control?
Keep up the good work!
Control likely hasn't a big budget so it would probably look like an AA game if they made something super original. They are smart for re-using as much as they can to reach a visual quality people expect from RemedyI know it's almost forbidden to say lazy dev here, but... it seems like a short effort from remedy.

I have never played a Remedy game (incl Max Payne series), but this looked reaaaally good. Looking forward to seeing more about it.
Hubert (or was it Bosman?) calling it "Quantum Break 2nd chance edition" on the EZA stream made me chuckle I have to admit ;)
Great. thanks man . wishing the team all the success :)
