If the animation in the show is hopefully as good as this, it should turn people around in opinion.
Also, it's fucking hilarious now that Thundercats Roar was announced, should put shit in perspective regarding this show.
If i recall correctly it's the new gimmick for this iteration, they can power themselves with energy auras, which is what Raph was doing, you can see them doing it with their weapons in other reveal promo pictures.

At least they're back to 2D animation. The previous Nickelodeon series was great but I never really liked the 3D look.
Yeah I noticed, and honestly I don't mind. Long as the show is fun, that's all that'll matter.
I don't like the artstyle, but the animation is pretty damn solid.

Intro looks like it's furthering the campaign to shit on Leo. Looks uncoordinated, falls on his head and makes a goofy face, and doesn't actually attack anyone but uses his sword to cut a hole in space/time to escape from a baddie he's stumbling into while Donnie picks up the slack.

It's weird to see people have this opinion, im neutral towards Leo, but over the years i have seen so much people saying leo is boring and they were sick of him always being the center of everything and the leader and the best at everything, blah blah blah, one would think people would appreciate the show runners trying to make him fun.
It's a cartoon, that's what cartoons do. Plus to get the 180-spin shot was worth it in an opening full of crazy camerawork.
Seems similar to the last song, but not as good. Animation is great, but I just can't get past the design... that said, my kid loves the turtles so we might watch it together.
I think the comics have done a much more admirable job of showing Leo as a conflicted leader trying to juggle responsibility to a clan and his own family. Living up to the lofty ideals of his father versus what it means to be "human." Frankly not everyone can write that and it's a similar problem with a character like Cyclops who people automatically say is the worst because they're just good at everything, stale leader types. This show is clearly looking I think to be more in line with a Cartoon Network wacky/whimsical style, so the above likely wouldn't fit in this type of show. I have no problem with people trying something different, but as someone who grew up with TMNT '87 and beyond, I just have some reservations personally about mixing the formula, specifically because as you mentioned, I think Leo gets a bad rap.
The intro seems to put off the impression that Leo will likely be the butt of more than his fair share of jokes, just the impression I got. We already know that they're making Raph the leader in this so hey, we'll wait and see. Until then, #Justice4Leo

As usual I expect that the intro animation is better than that of the actual show, but I'm glad we're back to two dimensional animation, it's so much more expressive than CGI.

Traditionally, an opening always has a better animation than the show itself, but I think it's clear the animation style is fine and, as always, people were overreacting. I would think that after Transformers Animated, people would have learned better, but I guess not.
Animation was fine, song sucked, as an OP it's lacklustre.

Nah the "We shredded Shredder!" intro with Mikey kicking his helmet off the building is the real GOAT.
Also this new opening exemplifies the Neo Saban Power Rangers issue. If you keep remixing an 'iconic' theme song, yours will always remain unmemorable on it's own.
I haven't seen that in forever. God, it's beautiful. The art... the animation... I would LOVE for them to make another live-action movie using the same exact suits from the 1990 film.
That looks amazing, all the comments saying that looks like shit are BONKERS. The old 3d cartoon looks incredibly bland and generic by comparison.
No other TMNT intro has had or ever will have Usagi Yojimbo in it except this one, GOAT.
