Caved and bought Lumines Remastered. Excited to play this on basically a giant PSP. Feels appropriate.
Well, i impulse bought Lumines Remastered, never played it before. The concept is kinda neat, still trying to get the logic right, but i'm having a lot of fun! Love the way the HD rumble was implemented, it even has a more complex mode where you can enable the trance vibration, it's cool, but i think it'll drain the joy-cons' battery really fast.
Three more:Three new NA eShop pages today:
Nekopara Vol. 1 (July 4, $14.99)
Squids Odyssey (July 5, $14.99)
The Wardrobe (July 26, $14.99)
There are $2.99 iOS games on sale for $14.99 too.So Inside is £15 on Steam (well it's 55% off ATM but that's beside the point), £16 on PSN/Xbox and its page has just gone up today on Switch... £18.
I do not get it. It just gets my goat. Like it's an amazing experience and I have absolutely no qualms about recommending it wholeheartedly at full price but that £2 (at best) price hike is just aggravating for no reason that I can accept at least. It rules me out of buying it again altogether until a sale that's for sure.
Like charge full price for your game, that's totally reasonable, but when there's a hike like that it just puts a bad taste in the mouth so to speak.
FYI the developer, OutRight, only makes licensed games. They made Finn & Jake Investigations which was pretty mediocre. Wait for reviews of course but if it's meh, it still might be a good bargain bin/eshop sale pickup if you like AT, since it has an original story with the show's voice actors. I recommend Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! on 3DS, it's a Zelda II clone developed by WayForward, not amazing but my fav AT game. The new Adventure Time rpg looks really good but it's definitely a wait for reviews game. If good, I will be all over it.
You are 4 hours in and already like it. Wow, you are going to love it when all things go into full force.I have never been into JRPGS despite buying a bunch of them because they were either really cheap (Steam sales, PSN sales etc.) or because of pure praise from folks (Xenoblade X, Xenoblade 2 etc.).
4 hours ago I started out of the blue Xenoblade 2 on my Switch. I bought it a while ago because it received a lot of praise here and on Reddit.
Im going to bed now, but I just need to say that the game is fantastic. Like I said, Ive never been into JRPGs, but somehow Ive gotten really hooked to Xenoblade 2.
It is simply fun and has that "just one more enemy" and "just a bit more exploration" feeling.
If the fun lasts until the credits I will most likely try Xenoblade X too.
At the risk of sounding like a cretin, the first time I played Thumper was handheld, with headphones, in bed, in the dark, totally stoned.
It was a pretty amazing experience.
Has anyone else here played West of Loathing? Picked it up the other day despite not being entirely on board with it's aesthetics, and I've been hooked since.
It's incredibly dense in terms of content, the writing is great, and it's got quality gags/jokes throughout. I've been in tears laughing each time I get to explore what's at the bottom of all the spittoons I come across.
If you're looking for something cheap, lighthearted, content rich, and seriously funny, give this game a shot even if the visuals don't grab you immediately.
FWIW, the game is $20 on Switch in NA which is the same price as every other platform. Maybe it's the EU publisher? So Inside is £15 on Steam (well it's 55% off ATM but that's beside the point), £16 on PSN/Xbox and its page has just gone up today on Switch... £18.

There has never been a "good" Adventure Time game, sadly. At best they're "not awful."FYI the developer, OutRight, only makes licensed games. Does anyone know what time Lumines Remastered is unlocking in North America? I could've sworn games usually unlock at midnight eastern time..
I can't wait for this, it looks amazing.
Did you buy Lone Wolf?
Knowing now that you were considering BCB makes me feel bad because BCB is so lovely. I mean, so is Lone Wolf but both games should be owned!
BCB has the distinction of being console-exclusive to Switch, too.
I'm not trying to walk back your decision to buy Lone Wolf, more like trying to get you to spend more money on top :)
In a related vein, why don't we get more western arcade ports? I'm talking about Atari, Bally/Midway, Stern, things of that nature? I can't recall the last time there was a proper home port of Defender, Berzerk, Zoo Keeper, Centipede, Smash TV, STUN Runner, Roadblasters...Why don't we get more 90s and 00s arcade ports? I'm talking about all the games publishers ignore that have never been released on console, or haven't been since the 90s.
The match 3 stuff is really fun IMHO because it has extra layers of strategy beyond just matching the right colors. The time limit forces you to think very quickly and things can get very frantic. Not yet, and for sure still plan to get BCB down the line. Though I might still pick it up in this sale since I've decided against Kamiko for something meatier (I knew it was short, but not 1-hour short), and 40% is a pretty good sale. Hmm...
Truth be told, a part of me is holding back because I feel there'll be a physical version from someone down the line. Though I suppose there's the question of whether I'd like the game enough to have it in my collection, since I'm trying to keep my physical Switch games to only the games I absolutely enjoyed. Kind of a paradox I've made myself there, lol.
Can you comment a bit on the gameplay? Although I find the match-3 Bejeweled-style gameplay okay, it's not something I would actually seek out to play. If you felt similarly prior to playing the game, what did you think of it once you actually got to play it? Also, from the few videos I've seen, the combat doesn't look that fluid. Is it still fun, or did it ever feel tedious?
Absolutely! In a related vein, why don't we get more western arcade ports? I'm talking about Atari, Bally/Midway, Stern, things of that nature? I can't recall the last time there was a proper home port of Defender, Berzerk, Zoo Keeper, Centipede, Smash TV, STUN Runner, Roadblasters...

The game is actually quite different from Bejeweled, it's pretty different from most Match-3's I've played.
The combat is fluid but it's not the main draw of the game. It doesn't get in the way of the game, either. It's noy tedious because you don't actually spend much time in combat. Most of the time you're rushing to gather the ingredients in yhe middle of cooking, so you don't want to waste any more time than you have to.
The story, presentation and music is all very charming. I was really impressed.
The game was published by Adult Swim Games so I don't know if they do physical prints. Also, you're looking at $12 vs $30, assuming a physical release even happens.
I don't know how long it takes to find out if an indie physical run is going to happen, but BCB has been out since August.
Think of it this way: you can buy the game for $12 and play it now and if it does get a physical release you can buy it and leave it shrink wrapped and it'll probably triple in value in a couple years.

Lol, Air Mail unlocked at midnight but not Lumines :/
Pato Box, finally!Three more:
Pato Box (July 9, $14.99)
Arcade Archives: Renegade (June 28, $7.99)
Neo Geo: Money Puzzle Exchanger (June 28, $7.99)
Exposure through word of mouth is how these developers get to keep making cool shit I like.Alright, you sold me on this. $12 for something that tries to break the mold and with such charming art and music isn't a bad deal at all. And if I do really enjoy it, double-dipping on a potential physical copy is pretty much a non-issue.
Thanks again! I hope you're getting a commission for these sales! ;D

BCB has fortunately had a lot of vocal support from the community. Lone Wolf hasn't, that's why I've made it a personal agenda. Game is awesome and I want a sequel.

Anyone excited for Arena of Valor? The first proper MOBA on the Switch.
I knew I saw that money game somehwere! Do you remember where they played it?
It's a real hidden gem. I did a big post about it in last month's thread.
One of the coolest games on the eShop and no one ever talks about it.
I want to make a thread but I can't so I'll just bring it up here.
Why don't we get more 90s and 00s arcade ports? I'm talking about all the games publishers ignore that have never been released on console, or haven't been since the 90s.
Games like Ninja Baseball Bat Man
Hamster has released Irem games on ACA but most are from the 80s.
Where are all the 00s arcade games? Naomi and Atomiswave stuff?
The last time we saw any of that stuff was PS2 and Dreamcast.
I think a lot of people would love to play these games again, especially if the 3D stuff is upscaled.
I've been waiting for it on switch for a long time now. I think the game is perfect for that type of experience.
I've just received my Code. I'm both excited and worried about this game. For those who signed up for the closed Arena of Valor beta, keys are being distributed today. A handful of members here have already received theirs. There's currently an OT for the mobile game, and while I haven't been active on mobile for a while, there was a big guild for Era. I assume there will be one on Switch as well, and most likely will be more active.

I'm a "good" LoL Player and I'm afraid playing a game that is sometimes defined as a LoL rip-off on a console.
What can I expect? A more "casual" experience? Only thing I know is that each match can last maximum 20 minsPut those fears aside, my friend.
It's not a rip-off, but it is a MOBA with similarities to League (how could there not be?), and it's also made by Tencent, League's parent company. I've enjoyed it very, very much on mobile, and can't wait to play on Switch.
lol.. I just started also.. well my NG+. Already 290 hours into it.You are 4 hours in and already like it. Wow, you are going to love it when all things go into full force.

I just got the invite to the Arena of Valor closed beta. Starts on 28th June and they sent me a download code.I've been waiting for it on switch for a long time now. I think the game is perfect for that type of experience.
