uhhhh, the game ended for me. I didnt do most of the things I see people talking about. I felt like I interacted with everything possible in the house. I never went outside once.

That was neat. The increased production values are pretty nice as well. The move to Unreal 4 really helped.

I guess this was essentially a prologue for LiS 2 rather than a throwaway thing like they made it sound. I was interested in Chris's story by the end of it so I'm fine with him being the protagonist. It'll be interesting to see if they do a time-skip, though they probably will.

I love the music moments in LiS games, quiet reflection.

This one you could literally see the Bat for Lashes album cover when you put the record on, a nice touch.

How does this run on PS4 Pro? It was awesome having 60fps in Before the Storm (at 1080p at least).

Good to know I'm not the only one who struggles to find the phone code.

The game saves before you trigger the ending cutscene, so you can go back and finish the stuff you've missed.

yeah where is that? I also didn't manage to
get into the garage
or
complete my costume - needed paint
No idea about the phone code. I gave up for now. Checked the game's Steam Community forum as well but no one seems to have figured it out yet.

The key to the garage is on the left side of the door that you can't use to get outside (in the kitchen).

The paint is in the garage (spray cans).

Just finished, I'll probably go into more details on my thoughts later but for now, non-spoiler thoughts, then spoilers below:

I thought it was great overall. As a little side-story setting up a new location and some new characters, I am definitely very intrigued where they will go from here. There are definitely connections to the previous games, both in references and direct mentions, but it still feels like it's own new thing within the greater LiS universe that we are about to learn more about.
So, I did everything except find the PIN code to play the damn Hawt Dawg Man phone game, and it looks like I'm not alone on this front. I'll be patiently awaiting the code so I can go play it lol.

As for the story with Chris and his dad, that got really dark and heavy at times. Like, it was pretty obvious that his dad has abused him and hurt him in the past, and that his mom was really amazing and loved him so much. So she's been dead 2 years after a hit and run accident, which seems to have gone unsolved judging by the angry letters his dad seems to have written and the letter from the private detective that you can find in his closet. Plus the letter from Chris's grandparents and the letter from social services shows that people are perhaps of aware of the fact that his dad isn't in the best shape to be looking after Chris right now.

So the ending (for me at least, not sure if there are different ones) was the old lady from next door coming over and insisting that Chris come with her and get away from his dad. The dad then got angry at Chris, blamed him for his mom's death, tried to apologize, but Chris ran outside, tried climbing up the treehouse, the ladder broke, and then as he fell to the ground he magically levitated and was able to break to his fall with some kind of newly found superpower. Then he turns and looks over at the kids from next door, smiles and waves, and it ends.

So, I still don't think Chris will be the protagonist of LiS 2. My guess is that there will be multiple people that have these powers, Chris being one that we meet. Perhaps they are trying to form some kind of underground superhero club to fight against crime or the man or whatever. I'm probably totally wrong, but that's where my mind is going with it at least.

where did it come from?

Also regarding the choices in this game that will probably connect to LiS 2

So at the end you can either get the neighbor to just leave or to get her to say that she knows something is wrong and she'll be back with her husband. I got the 2nd one after purposefully mixing up story.

It did say at the end
we will see Chris again in LiS2, just don't know if playable or not. Will be good to see him again though, think we might be seeing him as a teenager though. You can steal one of your dads smokes and I wonder if that will make Chris a smoker in LiS2?

Oh my god, if it's the reason I think it is.

It's what Hawt Dawg would be on a numpad

Anyway, just finished myself, and it is exquisitely Life Is Strange. Excited to see where Life Is Strange 2 goes.

I tried doing both and it still leads to the same ending. I wonder what choices will carry over?

Wow. I would have never figured that out on my own.
Maybe the T9 stuff but I would have entered Emily or something like that and certainly not Hawt Dawg lol

Just finished it. Took me 2h10 minutes but I leisured the fuck out of it and interacted with every single object.
Cheered so hard when Chris
started floating at the end
I really hope he's the main character in LIS 2 and not just a side.
I'll double dip on the second season if I have to, so we get more games in this universe. It's always so consistently... heartfelt. <3

All done, that was a nice little taste and it was great to see the engine and asset improvements they've have made (well, engine switch i suppose). It really is quite nice looking, and the direction on some of the scenes, even minor ones, is really quite nice.

Quite excited for the second season.

Yes, the music here was really great too, and just seeing the reveal of the supernatural in the LiS universe again was a really amazing moment, and Chris's reaction to it, just perfect.
And it was setup so well too! Every singe "powers" scene before that was a massive tease with him shown to be just playing around and then BAM, powers! Now I wonder if the other kids(which I presume are Hal and his brother probably) saw him float.

dammit...
captainerrorimage39r8sqi.png

I doubt there will ever be a DRM removing patch for a free game...
i guess i won't buy LiS 2 if that's the same engine...

edit:
oookay... restarting steam and after yet another steam update it worked... (gosh i hate that EVERY single time i restart steam it updates itself, as if it required an update for every game sold xD )

(As always you cannot change your monitor and it sticks the resolutions to the lowest res one... as if nobody used their PC with their TV as second screen)

It's very easy to trigger the end of the game before completing all the side items. You can go back and continue from where you left off after the credits.

Like what I tried though I never played life is strange before

I got the first' one on ps+ (1-5)
I see there is another one (before the storm ). Should I go ps4(pro) or Xbox one X ? I've heard it has been patched. If it's the same I'll stick for this game on PS otherwise I'll take the best version.

Thanks

I would have never guessed that phone code. I don't even get why the dad would make that the code.

I don't know what to make of this episode. I'm going to have to take some time to think about it. Mixed feelings about the story and gameplay.

Were there any
references to LIS1 other than the Jefferson namedrop and Emily having studied in Blackwell? I didn't see anything else.

I think it was on the computer I saw a mention of teenagers jumping on trains, which I thought was perhaps a nod towards episode 1 of BtS:

Cute game. There's not much too it, but then BAM, they Life is Stranged me... Got me right in the feels.

I'm really impressed with the improvement to the graphics. The lighting and image quality is wow. Amazing. And no load screen when leaving the house was great considering you had to load when going downstairs in Chloe's house. Hopefully the full game is seamless as well. The animation got a nice improvement as well, but I still think Before the Storm might be a little better in that aspect, especially the facial expressions.

Chris turned out to be an okay character, but he's no Max or Chloe. He really didn't have much time to come though, so we'll see. I definitely do not like Charles, but I'm sure that's by design.

I got everything but the phone code. Does anyone know if you can find
the animal in the garage though? It's not listed in the Awesome Things to Do, but it seems odd they'd put in the hole in the wall and reference it if there's nothing there.

When Chris fell off the ladder, I thought "Here comes the real Life is Strange moment, they're gonna kill or severely injure the kid". I definitely did not expect his powers to manifest, but it makes perfect sense considering the way Max's did in the original.

Overall, it shows a lot of promise for LiS2 and I'm looking forward to seeing how Captain Spirit carries over into that.

Great little episode, perfect primer for season 2.

Chris and the boy he waves at will be side characters in seas 2. Plot twist! Chris was actually caught by the other boy's big brother, who has telekinesis. You will play as the big bro in seas 2.
