We are constantly pimping the Magic NS Adapter because it does just that.

It's $20 and allows you to use the following controllers wired or wireless, as easily as if they were supported natively, on a Switch, PC or Android device.

Supported controllers include the following:
Dualshock 4 (with rumble and gyro support)
Dualshock 3
Xbox One
Xbox 360
Wii U Pro
Wii/Classic Mini Console Classic Controllers via Wii Remote
USB HID
JoyCons (for PC & Android)
Switch Pro (for PC & Android)

The damn thing even supports multiple wireless connections at once.

I have one and have tested all but the Xbox controllers and they work flawlessly without lag. Saved me a shitload of money because I don't need to buy a Pro Controller or a new Arcade stick. I can use my HRAP 4 fightstick just by plugging it in, and because it comes with a USB C adapter it's like I have a mini arcade machine in tabletop mode.

The Wii TvC stick pictured here works great. I added side buttons for pinball :-)

As a side note, you can use you SNES/NES Classic Mini controllers too since they are Classic Controllers.

While we're on it, the TvC, Tekken Tag 2 and other Wii arcade sticks work on SNES/NES Classic Mini consoles!

8bitdo's adapter does everything the Magic NS does but it does not support wired controllers.

i bought the 8bit one, but i don't think it supports multiple controllers at the same time. Still it works with the wiiu pro flawlessly at least :)

I just realized Battle Chef Brigade is on sale right now. How long is the game? The gameplay looks fun.

"The game is scheduled to launch on 20th July, but a pre-purchase option will be available from 30th June. This pre-purchase will have a limited-time 30% discount, hacking down the game's usual $9.99 price point."

More info here: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...ki_is_flying_onto_the_switch_eshop_next_month

For $7, I'm in. Looks like the devs are putting lots of care into this port. And it's coming much sooner than I expected.

That actually looks fun. Im intrigued.

Yeah, I second this. in a strange and amazing way, it feels like a successor to the original Fallout games, in which there are a huge amount of variety in random events, places to visit, and just generally lots of content!

I loved it so much, it inspired me to play the original game, Kingdom of Loathing, and that's not too bad for what it is as well!

Ended up finishing West of Loathing today. Just couldn't put it down! I haven't played the first two Fallout games (or Tactics), but WoL definitely gave me vibes of New Vegas's Wild Wasteland turned up to 11. What an absolute gem of a game. I'm seriously considering jumping into another playthrough (on hard) right now with another class and companion. I haven't enjoyed an RPG this much in a good long time.

Does Gunbird 2 on Switch have any of the unlockable characters? The eShop screenshots show Aine from Samurai Aces.

It definitely has Aine if you press down on the random select. Sadly I haven't found Morrigan yet, but wasn't really expecting her to be in.

I bought it the instant I saw it up but I don't think many people did, lol.

Yeah Aine is in but Morrigan is not. :( We should get Darkstalkers on Switch to make up for it. Or at least Cannon Spike. Gunbird 2 is still really good though.

Has anyone else here played West of Loathing? Picked it up the other day despite not being entirely on board with it's aesthetics, and I've been hooked since.

It's incredibly dense in terms of content, the writing is great, and it's got quality gags/jokes throughout. I've been in tears laughing each time I get to explore what's at the bottom of all the spittoons I come across.

If you're looking for something cheap, lighthearted, content rich, and seriously funny, give this game a shot even if the visuals don't grab you immediately.

I third West of Loathing recommendation. I never bought it on PC because i hated the visuals and thought it would be some western themed 2 hour long barely-rpg. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

This game has absolutely shocked me. It seems to be more like 15-20 hours, the graphics and animation are in reality great and the music is catchy.

Gameplay is far more than i expected. You can choose 1 partner for the journey, and battles are turn based with lots of fun unique special abilities depending on which partner you took can change gameplay dramatically. There are towns, dungeons, an overworld, side quests, loot, levels and stats. The game is really funny too. I seriously think this is one of the best games I have played this year and I'm not even finished yet.

West of Loathing is a solid 9/10 and a STEAL for the price. If you are interested in turn based rpgs, I simply cannot more highly recommend playing this game ASAP. It will put a smile on your face!!

Looks like we aren't getting reviews for Lumines Remastered until tomorrow huh? No matter, I bet it's gonna review super well anyways. I'm going back and forth between getting Lumines or Hollow Knight at some point. Both are 15 bucks, but are very different to one and another.

We are enjoying it a lot. The game is probably best played in co-op (it can be played sp, but I imagine that ruins some of the charm). While it is all simple enough at the beginning, the game keeps introducing new abilities for the two characters. For example, the star-like thing can
jump farther by floating and gets an ability to leave an after-image that he/she can then teleport to
and the stone can
swallow the star and spit it out to reach faraway ledges and if the star jumps back to the teleport point while being swallowed they both teleport.
No idea if it introduces more stuff, but the pacing is pretty good right now.

On another note, Pato Box just appeared in the coming soon section and will be released on the 9th next month.

And the coming soon section is also filled with adventures and puzzle games. I'm satisfied.

Hollow Knight is one of the best games I've ever played. If you love Symphony of the Night or the Metroidvania genre at all... pick it up. I mean, Lumines is really fun but unless you're really into puzzle games I don't think it compares to Hollow Knight. I think Lumines will definitely be worth picking up but not before Hollow Knight.

Picked up Gunbird 2 and Danmaku 3. Too many shooters. Not a bad problem to have, but it's hard to just focus on one.

Never heard of it...

*googling

Wow, this looks great! I'm sure I'll love it, thanks for the tip. Bought!
It's a real hidden gem. I did a big post about it in last month's thread.

One of the coolest games on the eShop and no one ever talks about it.

Joe Dever's Lone Wolf is a new adaptation of a classic game book series from the 80s.

maxresdefault.jpg

You remember Choose Your Own Adventure books? Well, they were kind of like that but with a big injection of Dungeons & Dragons. Basically, it's single-player D&D with a specific character and the book is the dungeon master.

Flash forward to a few years ago and Joe Dever's Lone Wolf is reborn as a modern adventure RPG on mobile and sold in chapters.

The Switch version is the entire game for $15, which presents about 15 hours of playtime in a single playthrough but provides lots of replay incentive thanks to many branching story paths based on your decisions, your character building and the difficulty.

The game has all new illustrations through-out that have been given the motion comic treatment. Combat sequences are fully in 3D. It features quality writing, a beautiful musical score, gorgeous UI/presentation, deep character building and interesting lore.

Combat consists of active-time battle, with multiple types of actions, disciplines, etc. You'll use a combination of buttons and radial wheel to access your options and occasionally perform brief quicktime events to land criticals, special moves or dodge attacks.

B1UOdUaeUZS.png

lone-wolf-pic-1.jpg

There's also several mini games, such as lock picking, to shake things up between reading and making tough choices.

900x.jpg

This is an oldschool style of RPG where stats matter outside of combat as well as during. Your build will have an effect on the choices you make, what choices are available to you and the success of your actions.

Lone_Wolf_IndieCade_screen_2.png

(yes, you can change the font)

And the music really is quite excellent!

If you want a chill but challenging game with old school feel that harkens back to a different era then I can't recommend this game enough. This is quality software and rather unlike anything else out there.

Hey look! No pixel art anywhere!

I have never been into JRPGS despite buying a bunch of them because they were either really cheap (Steam sales, PSN sales etc.) or because of pure praise from folks (Xenoblade X, Xenoblade 2 etc.).

4 hours ago I started out of the blue Xenoblade 2 on my Switch. I bought it a while ago because it received a lot of praise here and on Reddit.

Im going to bed now, but I just need to say that the game is fantastic. Like I said, Ive never been into JRPGs, but somehow Ive gotten really hooked to Xenoblade 2.

It is simply fun and has that "just one more enemy" and "just a bit more exploration" feeling.

If the fun lasts until the credits I will most likely try Xenoblade X too.

Dark Souls Remastered has disappeared off the 'Coming Soon' section of the U.K. eShop.

Probably because it can only show a limited amount of games. Code Of Princess Ex and Overcooked 2 were also gone this evening, but now that 3 games have released (Lumines and two others) and only 1 game has been added for an earlier release date, they are back up again. Which means that the max number of games that can currently be displayed in the coming soon section is 48.

Edit: that new game is Super Volley Blast, a volleyball game by the Spy Chameleon devs. Might be a fun game for local 2 vs 2 gaming, especially at that price.

So Inside is £15 on Steam (well it's 55% off ATM but that's beside the point), £16 on PSN/Xbox and its page has just gone up today on Switch... £18.

I do not get it. It just gets my goat. Like it's an amazing experience and I have absolutely no qualms about recommending it wholeheartedly at full price but that £2 (at best) price hike is just aggravating for no reason that I can accept at least. It rules me out of buying it again altogether until a sale that's for sure.

Like charge full price for your game, that's totally reasonable, but when there's a hike like that it just puts a bad taste in the mouth so to speak.

I think your write-up of the game has me almost convinced. But just to make sure, does the game run well on Switch undocked? Also, I don't need to have any prior knowledge of the Lone Wolf series, correct?

Correct on both fronts. Game runs very well undocked, native resolution. It's my preferred way to play. No knowledge required, it's a stand-alone story.

Nice write-up. You know, Steve Jackson's and Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy books were wildly popular here in Brazil, but it looks like Joe Dever only saw a very tepid release around here. Now I'm also interested in his books, I'll try to grab a few.

I believe we're going to get two adaptations of the fighting fantasy games too. Already out on PC.

Sold! Thanks for the info! Was debating between this and Battle Chef Brigade. Will pick this and Kamiko up.
Did you buy Lone Wolf?

Knowing now that you were considering BCB makes me feel bad because BCB is so lovely. I mean, so is Lone Wolf but both games should be owned!

BCB has the distinction of being console-exclusive to Switch, too.

I'm not trying to walk back your decision to buy Lone Wolf, more like trying to get you to spend more money on top :)
