I'm in dilemma. I'm on a limited budget of 40$ CAD and I want to buy multiple games. I can't choose between The Witcher III or Dark Souls III. I recently finished Dark Souls Remastered and I enjoyed the heck out of it. But then, I heard so much praise about The Witcher III and everybody is telling me that I have to play it but I have a issue with it: I hate multiple choices in games. I hate it when I choose something wrong. If I buy The Witcher III, I'll also have less budget for other games as it is 27$ for a GOTY edition. Dark Souls is 16$ and it leaves me more breathing room for other games. Help me ERA, please!

Not sure if you've already made your decision, but definitely DSIII — especially if you're just coming from playing DS. I played W3 immediately after Bloodborne and it amplified just how poorly the former plays. I ended up pushing through 30 hours of trying to enjoy W3 thanks to all the acclaim and just didn't see what all the hype was about. Boring open world with awful/repetitive quest design. What's there is polished, but it isn't fun.

I've played all the Souls games and DSIII may be my favorite in terms of combat and pacing. I play them completely blind the first time through and it had a ton of surprises. (switched up the level design, some of my favorite bosses in the series, some mindfuck lore/world building) Game is excellent in all respects and I felt no "Souls fatigue" that some seemed to cite.

Nice price reduction on Wolfenstein II, with it being 36€ off. Tempting.

On that subject, what are the best deals in this sale in terms of actual price reduction, and not in percentage off? Anything better then 36€?

I feel that I'm a bit lost navigating the store right now.

I've still got the UK version of steam store but I'm in Germany... so I'm guessing if I try to buy it I won't be able to access it until I'm back in the UK in August ;_;

We put up our game at 25% on the Steam Summer sales.
[/QUOTE]

If you buy it, you might want to hold on a bit before playing as we will roll out update 1.06 at the end of Steam Summer Sales.
We moved to Game Maker Studio 2.0 and with it added more support to current chipsets and other silly computer things.
We also adding support for controllers.

As a curiosity note, and considering my game is already 4 years old, we are getting more sales from China than anywhere else. Weird but cool.

On a side note, the Steam browser game is really weird. Are you guys really playing it to get (even) more games?

My Steam Link is shitting out right as the sale starts, so I guess I'm getting another one of those.

Any suggestions for fun online multiplayer games to play with buds? Preferably something super cheap so I can get a 4-pack.

Can someone sell me on The House in Fata Morgana? I enjoy text adventures like traditional parser games, as well as modern interactive fiction like Sorcery and 80 Days. but played the demo and Fata Morgana doesn't seem like those. You just click through text? I've never played a visual novel before, so I don't even have any frame of reference of what a VN is like to play.

Ideally, I'd be most curious in impressions from people where the game was their introduction to VNs
Yeah that's what it is ultimately, text over images, occasionally VO and depending on the game branching choices. So more that any other genre they live and die on the strength of their writing and players interest in the subject matter. I think the writing in Fata Morgana is outstanding, at different times it gave me the same emotional reaction I had to reading through parts of Dhalgren.

Guys, I really highly recommend They Are Billions. The game is like crack. It scratches a more primal itch than the one provided by games like CIV. Please get it.

I'll probably pick up dark souls 3. I've only ever played bloodborne and loved it.

First Steam sale since I jumped on the PC train. Had to force myself to stop browsing eventually! Pretty decent haul:

Doom 3
Quake
Quake 2
Speedrunners from hell
Slay the Sire
Synthetik
Singularity
Witch Hunt
Broforce
Stories Untold
Hollow Knight
FTL

Need to stop now... My excuse is I'm building my library up! Hollow Knight and Synthetik both seem excellent so far :)

Summer sales are the bane of my existence. First Xbox, now Steam... I've picked up more stuff these last few weeks than I will probably ever play lol. :(

Grabbed Dying Light: Enhanced Edition since I need something to play with my boyfriend on his days off, and it looks like Mirror's Edge in a zombie apocalypse, which sounds great to me. Also got all the DLC for Resident Evil: Operation Raccon City, all the characters for Rivals of Aether, and the DLC bundle for Nekojishi while I was at it (though that isn't on sale).

This sale was so lackluster to me. I was was expecting a better sale for Project Cars 2 Deluxe. Anyways I preordered Yakuza 0 because I need that an Sega needs my incentive to keep bringing Yakuza games to PC.

Wasting time on these asinine clicker games is such garbage.
I'm not getting paid enough for this senseless chore. You get three cards per day, which is like maybe €0.10 or some such? And it's maybe four minutes, including the time it takes to put the cards on the market.
By the end it's €1 for 40 minutes of misery? Not worth it.

I'd prefer it if Valve just raffled this stuff out.

Also, maybe buy Jettomero.

I went off script and purchased some back-burner* titles to go along with the ones I'll be enjoying right now.

Battletech (Amazon $10 price glitch**)
Into the Breach
Firewatch
Slay the Spire
Detention
Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Vive la France
Motorsport Manager - Endurance Series
Grim Dawn
Fran Bow

* Also bucking typical trends, I somehow managed to put decent time into 6 of those 9 purchases already.

** Cripes I feel like I won the lottery on this quick-grab. Game is soooo good.

Not too shabby for a bit over $60. Really rewarding sale for me this season.

I was actually waiting for a physical version of hollow knight but gave in an bought it (10 bucks was too tempting). I'm about 10 hours in and it's great. The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is the amount of backtracking. I know it's a Metroidvania but I'm missing an item like the homeward bone from Dark Souls or something that lets me teleport to benches or the travel bug.

If you quit to the main menu the game will save your progress and when you load the save you will be on the last bench but with everything you did and items you got still there. It helps sometimes.

I'm somewhat in love with Jettomero's ridiculous filter options. It is impressive and nonsense.

This is what happens when you tweak the Low-Fi filter.
Default Low-Fi

High Low-Fi.

It's unplayable, but you can play it like this.

Bought these 6 great games for 26$ CAD + Hollow Knight and Batman: Arkham Knight (that was the only one I didn't own). I am pretty happy with the purchases I did this sale.

Do Divinity:Original Sin or The Witness ever drop below $12.00? I thought since they are older games I could get them for like $5.00 ?

Nioh and Assassin's Creed: Origins are both $29.99 during the current Steam sale...if you had a choice of 1 game which would you choose at that price?

As an owner of both I've gotten far more entertainment out of AC Origins.

But $30 for AC Origins happens far more often then a sale price for Ni-Oh, so maybe go with the latter. Either way you're getting a great game.

Should I get Divinity: Original Sin 2? I've been waffling on it for a while. I like RPGs in general, especially when silly/unexpected stuff happens and you can get engrossed in the characters, sidequests, and connections. It sounds it might be a good time to dive in, since Divinity games seem to never have super deep discounts, and there's a free expansion coming in August if you already own the game.

Is the 2nd one a lot better than the first? If not, it probably makes sense to try the cheaper first game to see how much I like it, then buy the 2nd one after a while.

Anyone have an opinion on Rimworld? That's another one that gets a lot of praise but doesn't go on sale.

Yeah, D:OS2 is pretty dramatically better than the previous. The writing is leagues ahead (thank you, Chris Avellone) and everything else is just bigger, better, and more bad-ass.

RimWorld is must-own material as well, imo. It's like I always wanted to get into Dwarf Fortress, but my puny brain couldn't handle the bottomless depth. RimWorld splits the difference, giving you an accessible colony-management sim that's about as close to DF as you're gonna get without being the impenetrable DF. AMAZING game.

For someone who never really played or watched Yu-Gi-Oh! but is interested in it for single-player-story-mode only. How is Legacy of the Duelist? It's on sale for 9,99€. Both PSN and Steam, I might rather get it on PS4 but if someone tells me mouse-controls are far superior I might reconsider.

Can anyone recommend a game like 7 days to die or Terraria. I'm looking mainly for pve but most survival games I see look like their just pvp

It's an incredibly unique CRPG. The back half of the story feels rushed and the combat system isn't nearly as good as it is in Pillars (IMO), but it's certainly a game worth playing. I've heard that the DLC is good as well, but I haven't played it myself so I can't say for sure.

If you don't already have Starbound, I'd suggest picking that up. Sounds right up your alley.

Chris Avellone wrote the concept that became Fane, the Undead origin. He didn't touch the rest of DOS2, so those props all go to Larian's writing team.

The writing in DOS2 is excellent, but credit where it's due.

Speedrunners from hell

This one is really good if you like moving in first person games. All the movement mechanics felt fantastic for me, who just likes the feeling of jumping around in games like Quake 1. And there is actually a pretty good endgame based on solving cryptic puzzles for when you finish the main game. The DLC was also good if you want more. Another similar first person platforming game I recommend is Deadcore which is also cheap.
