There was no spoiler
There was. Mentioning a new girl would spoil that one of the women is leaving in part 3. and some people might not want to know before hand that someone is leaving, even if you do not specifically use names. So just use tags, thank you.

This was one of the most hilarious episodes oh my gooooood. It would have been so awkward to watch without commentary lmao
Noah was dodging all the shit Mayu threw like he was goddamn Muhammad Ali, good job my dude. Makes me want to root for Yui even more now. She has a good chemistry with Noah. And she's so cute it physically hurts. Literally.
The whole panel making fun of Mayu gives me life.

This was the best Terrace House episode ever. Mayu tried so hard, and failed even harder. Noah was having none of it. I lost it when she came home, went to her room, got ready and then pretended she just got home. Ending the episode on the failed fireplace after she made him dinner and tried to get him drunk only to have him go watch Spongebob and run away to the shower.

You tried Mayu, but I am Team Yui all the way. Ganbare, Yui!

Sopranos is the best television series ever made. It absolutely stands up.

I've lost track how many times I've gone thru the series. At minimum 8.

I still don't find every little thing Yui does cute. I mean she's acts like a child, for better or worse and that's pretty much it. I guess the biggest part is that her performance lacks the cynicism of other members.
That said, I like her much more after this episode. And honestly, after seeing Mayu's scary side, I think Noah should definitely end up with Yui.
I loved the bombshell dropped by Seina, who said it's been only 4 days since Noah joined. Damn.
I also wonder if Noah was really feeling bad - I bet most of the stuff he did during the evening with Mayu was just dodging, but I guess he looked a bit unwell?

Poor Yui :( She had a nice date with Noah but that goddamn Mayu is oozing jealousy.
You can do it girl! We're all behind you!

Global viewers are going to be so mad about that three month wait after this part, I cannot wait to see their reaction.

I am crushing hard on Yui so if Noah doesn't make his move fast, I am swooping in.

Great episode again, Shohei taking charge was impressive, and even though I was like eeesh you are striking out at first, it seems Seina is warming to the idea of them together, I bet we will be getting zenzen trendy in part 4.

Mayu needs to just give up, I hope Yui opens up to Noah about it or Mayu confronts Noah so he can shut her down cleanly and she can surrender. Her coldness to Yui is unfair, but a very calculated move in Mayu's part. Bad Mayu, bad.

This two weeks wait is going to be hell.

Is it appropriate to discuss older seasons here? If not I'll take it to another thread or something.

I just got to the "Meat Incident" on Boys and Girls in the City
I was pretty irritated about how the hosts just laughed at Uchi for getting angry with them for eating the meat. I'd be pissed off too... probably more so lol. I think Minori knew it was wrong and did it anyways. She knew when she saw him in the kitchen that he was pissed off about the meat without him even having to say anything. Yeah, it's funny that it's about meat but it was pretty clear that it wasn't for everyone and on top of that it meant something special to Uchi and Minori knew that.

TEAM UCHI!!!

I'm surprised at your reaction to Shohei's move. I thought he was forceful, he literally grabbed her head and twisted it to kiss her, not giving her a chance to refuse. I was also disappointed the panel didn't call him out on it and praised his "manliness" instead.

The vibe at the house is so weird right now, completely different to the previous 20 or so episodes. I hope things get better next season, Yui and Noah seem like nice people and deserve a better atmosphere than this at the house.

Shohey is lucky she liked it cause up until she started talking about it her body language was NOT good. It was still a weird rapey thing to do and Shohey is a creep regardless though.

I wonder if she was trying to avoid conflict. Her words and her body language were in complete contradiction, I guess we'll know more in two weeks.

Guess I watched too many J-Drama's, especially in the shoujo genre lately, I didn't really consider the creepy aspect of it all. I'm becoming desensitised.

To be fair, even if I disliked the way he did it, it's completely possible that she liked it and that I'm misinterpreting her reaction.

Well she seemed to not have minded it afterwards going from the talk with the other girls, but still even then it could have easily been the other way and the way he held her didn't give her many options to not consent. So y'all's point still stands.

Yuudai update
He seems to be doing just fine at the restaurant

Not really a spoiler but hey.

There's a bunch of stuff on their Youtube that doesn't make the Netflix cut so it's worth checking out (usually one "bonus" scene every week). No subs tho, so you have to know Japanese.

Good for him. As baffling as his behaviour was on the show, I felt kinda bad for him when he left the show.

Someone on the Terrace House Reddit has translated a few of these bonus videos. I definitely recommend reading them.

I just started watching the series with Opening New Doors, I like it a lot though its a little too edited for me, theyre obviously pushing storylines when I thought it would be even more low key/natural after the first ep.

e: nvm missed that it said week at the beginning

So I ended up binging the show (its super addicting) and I'm going back to Boys and Girls in the City and the difference is incredible! It's like the chopstick crying incident where I just assumed that either OND is what Japanese college kids are like or theyre playing cute and moral for the cameras, but these kids are completely different. They actually have classes they go to and jobs they need to be at and hang out in the evenings or on their time off and seem to enjoy each others company and just in general act like regular people living together while having their own lives

It's the same for OND tho? Aside from the Yuudai/Ami situation (almost) everyone get along really well and live their own lives.
Not sure I see the difference between the 2 seasons tbh, the OND cast is just a bit older overall I guess. If anything it's a return to form after Aloha State.

Agree with people not being on board with the kiss. It felt very forced, terribly executed and all kinds of bad. I can only imagine that someone told the guy that Seina wants a man who acts more manly, which she mentioned a few times.
While the act itself was terrible, looking at Seina's facial expressions etc. in the house I feel like after being on TH so many times, at this point she's just straight up playing it up for the camera.
I would be happy if the first 2 guys and Seina left the house so we could get some new blood, despite the dates, I feel like these 3 people aren't really doing anything interesting nowadays.

To me everyone on OND acts so strangely, and combined with the editing it makes them less like real people and more like actors. Maybe Terrace House became really popular so its a response to that since pretty much everyone on OND is a fan, like Shion clearly acting like he's in a drama on dates while Ami goes on dates because thats what she's supposed to but just refuses to engage for the cameras at all (which I really like). Seina being on there adds to that feeling too. I think I actually like it more than Boys and Girls In the City because it's such an odd show

I guess I see what you mean, cause that's kinda how I felt about Boys and Girls Next Door where a lot of members had strong characters.
I might even say that Boys and Girls In The City is actually the exception and not the standard, it's the more "normal" one of the 4 seasons. OND might be the happy medium between Next Door and In The City, which I why I'm enjoying a lot.

So Hansan seems cool and all, but does anyone else think going on the show while in a relationship is a really rotten thing to do? For someone as perceptive as him, he would know that even if he rebuffs all their advances and doesnt do anything wrong he's still causing an insane amount of stress for his girlfriend

Not really. That's her problem if she feels like she can't trust him.
If I had a boyfriend like Hansan I wouldn't be worried at all tbh

I mean he's going on a dating show to live with a bunch of models. Maybe he's not attracted to the current three but whats to stop the producers from finding someone thats his perfect type just to throw it in and see what happens? Plus it's like he said himself, it's about how the other person feels

People date, but it's not really a dating show, not everyone goes in with this mindset (the first season had a dude who was getting married).
And well, if the producers somehow managed to find his perfect type, you can't do much about it. It's not really different than meeting someone new you find better than your current SO "in real life".

It's not like Hansan auditioned for the show with certain intentions or anything. In fact, he didn't even audition; he was scouted. The producers knew who were bringing onto the show from the get-go.

This season keeps on giving. Another awesome episode. Our girl Yui turning the tables on Mayu is the good shit, love how she sounded snarky and looked at her like "You're done" hahaha
Yui and Nakamura talking together makes me happy for some reason, mainly because I love seeing old man Nakamura being the laid-back dude trying to help people. Also another great "Noah being annoyed by Mayu" sequence lol

yeah it was good stuff. Yui really delivered this episode and the scene with Taka was amazing. That said, I am glad we will see the end of it next episode, a clean reject of Mayu and then move on. I wouldn't want this to be dragged on too long.

Shohei getting ready to confess, I wonder what Seina will answer.

Yui's talk with Mayu was great, although you could tell that she isn't that great at it. Made it much cuter though.
I laughed out loud at Mayu talking about how the situation with Noah isn't clear. What.
Agreed about Taka talking with Yui, it was really pleasant to watch.

Yui was treated like shit by Mayu and probably felt like shit for weeks. I think the panel should have cut her some slack for not instantly liking Mayu. It would have taken a while for her to drop her guard around Mayu. I guess the Japanese are so used to being docile that it's rather unique when someone isn't that great at hiding their feelings.

The new girl seems to have been selected just for Taka. Hope they got it if, guy deserves a shinuhodo no koi.

In 3 minutes of screentime the new girl is already 100 times better than Mayu. Hope my man Nakamura will win the big one.
And now Yui can focus on Noah. Excited to see where it's going.
