Played the shining resonance refrain demo, and I'm actually interested, problem is I'm getting crash next week, and it's out within a week of octopath so I think I may have to pass since I'll be on a trip so getting it shipped would be interesting... and I may just go ahead and buy the xbc2 dlc and finally start my ng+ playthrough(been waiting till I got the dlc)

The fact it comes out the same week as Octopath Traveler (like, the Tuesday before) probably wasn't the best idea, even if it's also on PS4. Even I know not to buy two giant RPGs in the same week, plus I have a feeling that Shining Resonance will be the one that'll go on sale sooner.

But this is the same Sega who decided to release Yakuza 6 the same damn week as God of War, though I would argue the demographic for those games aren't as close together as two RPGs with one being action & the other being old-school.

I'm actually enjoying The Lost Child. NISA managed to not botch the localization as well, at least so far . Actually I am surprised that the voice acting is pretty good. Especially for a low budget game.

Graphics are meh, but the story is somewhat interesting and the dungeon crawling/demon collectathon is fun. Glad I do not regret the $50 spent.

This is $50 on Vita because of Switch

Does it have Japanese audio as an option?

We played an hour of Pode this morning and finished the first two doors/areas (consisting of a couple of linked levels) in Pode. Based on that it's a relaxing and lovely co-op puzzle experience. The two characters have different skill sets, so you really need to work together to get past obstacles. The game can be played solo by switching between the characters, but I'm not sure it would be as fun as figuring things out together.

Unfortunately we won't be able to resume our session before Monday, because I wanted to play more.

Shmup fans, check out Shikhondo - Soul Eater, a Korean developed bullet hell shump releasing on Switch in the Summer (also available on PS4 and Xbox One). Now this looks fantastic to me.

Also, Pocket Rumble releases on July 5th.

I'll have to ask this every month: What is the current list of available indie exclusives for the Switch !only for the Switch! (Full exclusives)? Upcoming exclusive games?

Is "Pode" such an exclusive?

I would use https://gematsu.com/exclusives/switch for such lists. It lists Pode as a timed exclusive, but I could not find anything that confirms a release on other platforms. Sometimes their info on smaller or older games can be wrong, so I would always try to verify.

That's why I asked my question. That site has Bayonetta(1) listed as an exclusive...

I can't check every single game from that list.

Era being so obsessed with exclusives I thought that someone here would already have a list of them.

I'm gonna search for a thread dedicated to this or create one.

Bayonetta 1 is listed as a generation exclusive: "Games that are exclusive to one console from a single generation of consoles, but also released on previous generation consoles."

This is accurate - Bayonetta is not released on any other consoles this generation aside from Nintendo Switch. In this instance it's referring to Switch in a manner in which it's the successor to Wii U and thus of a different generation to it.

Does anyone know if Target USA has day and date releases? Like if I go there on Tuesday do they typically have new games?

Best Buy does, I'm wondering what other retailer is also reliable.

Can one buy the Splatoon 2 DLC (Octo Expansion) from the South African eShop and it will work with an retail EU copy (german) of the game?
I heard there are handshaking problems with DLCs and games bought from different regions.

One could argue that the backwards compatible Xbox 360 version should count for this gen :D
That obsession is mostly being displayed in other topics, I think.

You can apply filters on that website. If you only leave 'full' on, you will get a list of stuff that is currently exclusive.
I'll do that, thanks.

In general I feel like you at the mercy of the team working that zone that day. If the game comes in the day before wih a street date like many do, the overnight team will put it up if it is part of restock.

Otherwise you are at the mercy of the day team getting the boxes and doing restock when they have time. Sometimes they guarantee it to be available by like 1pm local time

Go to Splatoon 2 page on South African eshop and look if it seems that you own it. If it seems, than you can download the dlc there

Hmm wait, retail?
I never tryed with physical version =\

It is actually receiving lots of free updates to improve the game so maybe it is better to play later

That's good to know, Platy, thanks! I'll definitely get it in the future.

At that point we're getting into a semantic conversation which I don't think is necessarily warranted in this context.

And either way, due to the point that it's arguable, one cannot call the list "wrong" for a point that needs to be argued - it's just a slightly different evaluation of the terms.

Yes, they do. I know people who camped for Mario Kart to get a rubix cube or whatever it was.

The DLC's description in the SA eShop states that it is compatible with an EU version of the game. So I guess I'm good to go?
Seems to be that South Africa is treated as EU.

With the current STEAM sale going on, it got me looking through my STEAM wishlist and I wanted to ask something I'm sure I already know the answer to, but are there any good 4X games on the Switch?

I see World Conqueror X is probably the closest to what I'm asking for, but it isn't quite what I'm looking for. Like I said, I'm sure I know the answer to this already, but I just wanted to make sure.

The Steam sale is annoying because there's a bunch of games I'd just rather have on Switch.

bleh
Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I just bought Into the Breach... But only after about an hour of me hemming and hawing whether or not I should pick it up or wait to see what they say about a Switch release (fyi they're not opposed to the idea). I only decided to pick it up today because I'm editing my podcast and needed something "braindead" to play as I'm doing so.

Lost in Harmony is broken beginning at Chapter 6. Got through this level but the same Problem/Bug reapears in 7. Has anyone else made the experience too?

I bought both BoTW dlcs for the physical from either Norway or South Africa (I don't really remember now) and both work fine.

Did anyone get Flashback? Can you play without the fugly filtered look? Or is that simply how this version looks? I have some nostalgia for this game, but I still it's somewhat overpriced here.

I mean, I liked it from the start but there is definitely a slow burn for a few hours. That said, this game will not be for everyone.

Not only can you play but any switch account on your swich also can play it

Brazilians still don't have an actual console acessed eshop (and the web only version is weeks old) but we had no problem of using the brazilian flag on mario kart 8

How does Era feel about Owlboy?

I read some reviews that said combat wasn't very good, there's no map and the game is buggy as hell on Switch.

Even so, it's pretty well reviewed and that's a good discount.

It's not a great game.

There's so many fantastic SHMUPs on Switch, this game shouldn't really be bothered with.

I think Owlboy is a pretty game with a different take on that style of exploration platformer. I think it is a game anyone interested in that type of game should play. I don't think it epitomizes the genre, but it is pretty neat in terms of the getting around, picking up people etc.

Okay,

So Mantis Burn Racing got an update, I was reading some reviews saying lack of content kind of hurts the game, but otherwise very positive. So I am thinking this may be a good pick up. Anyone have it with the updates?

And I am also looking/thinking at Joe Dever, Lost Sphear ( i know what I am getting ;-) ) , Skyforce, Butcher, Lichtspeer (this I have heard good things about), and Tumbleseed. Geeze that is a lot and I probably don't have time for this many games. Probably can wait for better sales.

Honestly with the competition that is coming to Switch in terms of the amount of games coming out, it is inevitable we will see more Steam/PSN like sales from some devs just to get on the charts and get some sales moving. I really wish Nintendo had thought through doing a gifting system so that say, with a 4-player online game I could buy a 4-pack of the game on a discount and gift the three extra codes to a friend via the eshop. Much like how Steam does it.

Isn't it so great?! I played it at PAX East last year and the whole group had blast, so I knew I'd pick it up, but I was really pleasantly surprised by the story mode and how it's basically just a love letter to great games.

And a gift to the player. I always felt cared for the whole time I played. All of the hints, all of the story beats and surprises, and hell, even the game over screen just gave me great positive vibes.

I'm playing Owlboy right now and it's pretty decent. It doesn't have a ton of exploration but it has some. The combat isn't too bad, it just takes some getting used to. The writing is pretty fun and the characters are pretty charming, and I haven't noticed any glitches yet.
