I'd have said so. As noted elsewhere recently, she (and Ivanka) seems to be fulfilling the role of "medieval queen" for Trump right now. Whenever there's an issue where Trump needs to climb down from one of his shitty positions, Melania or Ivanka are often reported to have reached out to Trump to change his mind or soften his stance. As with the medieval queens who would "inspire the king to show mercy", they seem to be being used as props so Trump can make a show of changing his mind after being swayed by the entreaties of his beloved.
I think it's being blown out of proportion but I also think she should have not worn that jacket.

I think you're letting your standards fall too low because of what the rest of the Trumps are like. Melania does absolutely nothing. This is one of the rare times she's actually done a thing and she couldn't even do it without pulling a stunt that would have been a huge PR disaster for anyone without the last name Trump.
