Owlboy is on sale in NA, though.

DID OWLBOY EVER GET FIXED?

There's a lot of issues with the Switch version that were supposed to be addressed in a patch but I can't find any confirmation that those issues actually got fixed.

Nintendo World Report's review said:
As of the version of the game I played, Owlboy on Switch is mired in technical issues. I've had game freezes, blank screens, breaks in game logic, and a whole lot more in my playthrough. Fortunately, thanks to the frequent auto-saving checkpoints, I never lost more than a few minutes of play. Still, it's annoying to have to regularly go to war with technical problems. The developer is reportedly working on a patch.

This review was written April 28 and names similar problems that launch reviewers had.

Firstly the game crashed on me four or five times. Again like The Adventure Pals, it was always close to the end of the game when it happened. One boss battle in particular (the metal snake) was so framey it was almost unplayable. I was mostly guessing where the snake might be and shooting, hoping my bullets would hit and end my framey nightmare.
I own the physical version and haven't encountered any bugs or glitches at all. I've played the game for about 4-5 hours so far.

I finished ADVENTURE PALS today, it was a really enjoyable 2D platformer. Great controls, looked and sounded fantastic and a fairly light - but witty - text driven dialogue. Ran at 60fps throughout too, only really dropping when it got heavy at the last boss fight.

Buy it! The dude that made it has been working on supporting it since release for free and all of this month's profits are going to the Human Rights Campaign

A Robot Named Fight is like my number 1 game on both Steam and Switch right now....
The dev also has a HUGE new update coming out in a few days during the sale with a brand new area that will sometimes replace the starter area and new items + bosses!
Dude is amazing with his ongoing free content support!
And he plans on doing more areas and items all the way into next year for free before even looking at doing a DLC expansion.

Oh... I just realized this was the Nintendo thread lol
its coming out for PC in next few days I should reiterate... its gonna take a couple weeks longer for Switch to hit due to cert and stuff.
Still is looking hella good

(Disclaimer: I am a total whore for this game and get the info from the game/dev's discord channel xP)

Any last minute suggestions on some of the E3 sales? I picked up, Mario & Rabbids, Pacman, USF2, and I already own Splatoon and Zelda.

Hm, Gunbird 2 does not allow you to select a solid black background. Either a grey gradient, or a wallpaper depicting a sky.

Everyone should check out Battle Chef Brigade if they haven't already. It's an incredibly charming game.

Pleased to see I'm not the only one underwhelmed by Hollow Knight, at least early on. I've only played an hour and a half but it's not set my life ablaze yet. I like it well enough and am sure it'll scratch the itch but having played Aria of Sorrow recently it's not as immediately gripping as that was and I'd expected something similar .

The talk up for this game was so high, for so long, which fans never understand can hurt a game in some ways as it usually "forces" people into a stance of agreeing or disagreeing, and no room for in-between.

I really found it a slog during that time period, and after 8-9 hours, a few zones and new tools opened up, and the slog lessoned. It's more enjoyable than it was, and I love the design and music work, but jeez it's been a long, slow road and buildup.

Finished it within a couple of days after release and IMO it's straight up one lf the best games available on Switch. If what you see in trailers and gameplay videos looks appealing to you then absolutely get it, it's so damn good.

It's a really well done roguelike spin on Super Metroid, I liked it a lot.

I've seen videos, and still really don't understand the play mechanics. Is it like Don't Die Mr. Robot, I'm it's dodge based game play? That $20 price feels so high to me currently....

Holy moly, Shapes and Beats is incredible.

It's kicking my arse and I've had to turn on casual, but I love it.

Yeah, it's an amazing and beautiful game. Can't stop smiling while playing it and it has some killer tracks. My personal favourite is still Milky Ways:

I knew it was going to be something special when during that freaking mental first boss fight, he
out of nowhere jumps down a Mario warp pipe!

The music is SO GOOD.

That is a great track. I think the one I've played, and replayed, and replayed the most is Barracuda:

If you have really good headphones or a sub-woofer in your gaming room the bass is so bumpin.' The musical scale is also kind of creepy-crawly like the little snake enemies that litter the screen. And that breakdown at 00:44 is just so fuckin' sick when you're in the zone. I will never NOT bob my head super hard when that part kicks in.

Is Flashback actually available in North America? I still see it listed under Coming Soon for July 24.

Also curious if the Journey Down is any good as far as adventure games go.

I haven't played Mr. Robot but I think so, all you do is avoid contact with enemies and you have a dash that gives you invincibility frames. Again, not for everyone but if it clicks with you then it's amazing.

I discovered so much awesome music thanks to it too.

I'll have to ask this every month: What is the current list of available indie exclusives for the Switch !only for the Switch! (Full exclusives)? Upcoming exclusive games?

Is "Pode" such an exclusive?

Yes, it seems like Pode is a Switch exclusive. No other platform is mentioned in their press kit.

I'm looking forward to playing Pode co-op next week.

Hope to play it tomorrow in co-op. And doubles/versus in Mario Tennis. So much local gaming goodness.

Seems like almost all of the indies from the Spring direct will have launched by the end of this summer.

Tried a bit of The Journey Down chapter 1. Just wanted to say that it can be played with touch.

Does it seem like a good game so far?

Played through the first episode years ago and I enjoyed myself. Can't say much more because I can't recall any specifics really. Replaying it now so that I can finally play the whole thing through as I never bought episode 2 and 3 (took the developer too long to release them and I lost interest).

It seems the games are currently for sale on Steam, by the way. Pretty steep discount, so if you don't want it for the portability, that might be a cheaper alternative to dive in.

Is Jotun any good? It's on sale.

Oh, and Battle Chef Brigade.

I like what I have played of Jotun. It's an isometric adventure with action combat, massive and impressively animated bosses, and the usual overworld exploration. Not as strong as the Zelda games, but enjoyable for what it is doing with a heavy on Norse mythology. I'd argue its worth the chance.

Finally picked up Danmaku Unlimited because of this sale and it is amazing so far.

I don't know if owning both it and Ikaruga would be redundant, but as someone who cannot beat Ikaruga now, Danmaku Unlimited is an amazing substitute with and awesome gimmick.

Quick question. My friend finally got a Switch but can only afford 1 game for the time, so he's gonna try a bunch of demos. Is there a list of all the demos where save data carries over? I know Octopath Traveler does while the Dragon Quest Builders one doesn't.

Must say fifa 18 is an absolute blast for 20 euros, especially with the worldcup free dlc.

I've changed the camera from the standard to be a pro camera and I was like "woaaahhhhh this is so much better". Its just so much more dynamic, and it's way easier to see movements and pick up tiki taka passes. It's a similar feel to actually playing football.

There's no dash in Don't Die, but if you like that game style, definitely try it. It has linking via fruit and explosions. Is Beats and Shapes similar in that regard?

I keep seeing this game on the eshop and thinking of "chode" instead. I really wonder why they went with "Pode" as a game name.
