Yup. It's dumb fucking jacket (understatement) to wear for the visit, but hardly something for media to talk about. Though it drives clicks better than actual news/politics I assume. As we can see from the size of this thread. Not that it shouldn't be talked here, this is a video game forum afterall so here it doesn't matter that much if we are console warring, praising Marvel or talking about the jacket.

Like, I'm assuming despite the spin everyone would love to make that this was a genuinely stupid accident. But even if the First Lady herself makes this mistake, you don't have a staffer catch it when she's leaving, or when she's on the plane??? Did they just fall asleep or something? What do you even have aides for other than to prevent PR mishaps like this? I'm still scratching my head here. Like, damn.

Melania meant to wear the NEVER BE GAME OVER coat to talk to kids in their walled camp. Instead she accidentally wore the coat she wears to family events.
She had her "recovery" surgery. Now she's in the get off your ass and do some work before we detonate the implant phase.

I understand what you're saying, but I'm saying that when the media focuses on this instead of other important details of her trip, the public isn't getting informed.
For example, how many stories can you see about her wearing the jacket? And how many stories bother to tell the little detail that the facilities she visited were housing almost all unaccompanied minors and only a few of the children who were ripped from their parents. She wasn't forced to interact with a center full of newly traumatized children but rather minors who crossed without family to separate them from. Most people aren't learning that detail because everyone is focused on the jacket.
For anyone who doesn't think it was intentional, Melania whole business is about her image. As a fashion model, actress, and jewelry maker, she knows marketing inside and out. She surround herself with people what cloths say about her. She does wear any piece of clothing that doesn't further her own self branding. Her name, her image, and the lifestyle she projects is the core of how she makes money.

it's your mistake to give her the benefit of the doubt. And you're right, being surrounded by a team of people while clearly having text you dont care while doing a pr photo tour to symoblize caring, and yet, still wore it. Come on people.

The broad strokes of this are bad enough without getting into detail. Especially when this has been the conversation for the last 2 weeks or so. I don't know home much time one could spend on this story anyway. You have to be Olympic class in mental gymnastics to not see how bad this is.
