This might be rather easy to say, because it mirrors my opinion almost to a t, but Blood's Gran Turismo Sport Review is fantastic. Really glad he "got" the game. I will have to return to it in the upcoming weeks, it still lingers in my mind.

Great Battlefront discussion on frametrap. Looking forward to Huber's salty review.

Thanks, yeah sometimes I do wonder if people knocking a game are just reviewing the game they wish it was rather than the one that's in front of them. I've played enough Forzas and GTs to be ready for them to "go back to the drawing board" rather than just piling more stuff on top of things that haven't changed in a decade.

Totally agree. I feel like GT Sport would have gotten a fairer shake of the stick if it didn't have the GT name on it. Half the reviews read like "This isn't GT7".

Thanks Szeth. I really don't like when Kyle deletes some of his streams for whatever reasons (it's happened multiple times already). Sure don't upload them to the YT channel if you don't think they're good enough, but at least don't actively delete them off twitch.

As for GT Sport, definitely think Blood's review was good and was scored appropriately based off his experience with the game that was told to us in the review.

For me, personally, an "objective" evaluation of the game (as in for review purposes) I'd score it a 7/10. The online didn't hook me. I gave it a fair shot. And as that didn't hook me (and is basically the main focus of the game to begin with), the single player content did not feel like it held enough on its own to be able to make up for it.

The rally portion of the game is pretty bad especially in comparison to other rally sims, felt like ice rather than dirt. The car selection did not feel varied enough and way too many doubles, triples, quadruples and fake cars to round out the roster. The track selection is also heavily focused on fictional tracks over real courses (which is a headscratcher for a racing sim imo). The online server connection requirements (even for things like the offline challenges) are also a big negative point.

The xp and level progression system (not talking about online SR) also did not feel rewarding, just felt like something that was there to satisfy people's needs for numbers to go up. Rather than actual progression.

Where the game excels is the presentation. Graphics, scapes, menus/UI etc were top notch. The gameplay is also top of the class in regards to console sims (except for the rally part). Despite the online not hooking me, the systems in place seemed to be well done in regards to promoting clean races. The audio was fine to me.

All this considered, would lead to a 7/10 review evaluation on my part.

As a fan of the series however, that does not like the gameplay in any other sim as much as GT (meaning I skip most of those games as a result after trying out their demos/betas), and who skipped out on GT6 due to release timing, waited for it to show up on PS4 (after Kaz and PD themselves hinted at a GT6 port naturally showing up on PS4 in a few years after launch). This game ended up being a huge disappointment and would end up with a 4/10 in my own mind in its current state due to not liking the online, the lack of proper career (and all the things that come with it like tournaments, progression, car parts upgrades etc), bad car variety, and smaller track selection than the competitors and past entries. And last but not least, the online connection requirements for progression, which is one of the biggest issues personally.

I really wish I had the patience to really get into GTS and play online because I loved what I played in the beta, but the current product just isn't for me. I'm happy for the people who enjoy online racing and got something new out of it though. And I hope PD continue patching cars, tracks and even new modes into the game, since it seems very GaaS-ey.

TBH, I'm not sure I even want them to go back to the "buy a hundred cars, race a hundred races" style campaign. I think I'd actually like to see them copy the current trend in sports games and come up with a "The Journey" style story mode (an actual racing career, not the rubbish EA keeps trying to do with NFS). I feel like it'd be a perfect fit and would be a huge breath of fresh air in a genre that really needs it.

Managed to get the archive before he deleted it. Glad I did because it's a really cool stream since Kyle never really does Q&A's. I'll delete it if Kyle doesn't want it up, just let me know if he ain't cool with it Bloodworth

For now here it is if anyone wants to watch it.

Thanks, mate. I hate it when stuff like this gets deleted.

I've actually recently started uploading some lost Twitch streams (not just EZA) on YouTube myself as I've been cleaning my hard drive. When it comes to EZA content, I've uploaded the botched Banjo-Kazooie FGM intro, and Damiani's Inside Zelda stream. Will likely upload the streams of Damiani watching and commenting on his GT reviews as well at some point, since those are taking almost 20 Gigs of space.

Great job by Huber on Frametrap untangling this Battlefront mess I had only tangentially heard about before.

Holy shit what were they thinking.

Game Awards nominees went up, & it looks like Easy Allies is one of the 51 outlets in the Voting Jury!
So that's why the betting special is strictly for PSX even after they announced there was no conference.

They probably want to keep their distance as they're involved. I thought it was cause Kyle would be working with Geoff again but now that connection is more pronounced

Yeah, you're right. Totally makes sense. I could see them officially saying they're on the jury during tonight's group stream.

Does this mean there's zero possibility of there being an eza reaction to the awards now? I wanted them to react to/comment on Kyle's shenanigans if he's involved this year again.

I dont think so. Jones usually votes and plays games in pre-e3 week before they are revealed to the public and they still bet anyway. I just think they werent expecting psx to be downgraded this year.

I think Kyle is the type of perfectionist that expects so much of himself that it becomes crippling and ultimately paralysing. I've been hearing that he would like a tighter grip on work so that he feels motivated, and he sounds like he is struggling to get things done - but looking at these streams he chooses to delete I believe he is just being an enemy to himself. It was a good Q&A, you should keep it - maybe edit out the beginning but that's it. Actually appear in more things, you do good work, don't stop just because it doesn't completely live up to the aspiration.

Anyway I don't know the person, and this might be completely off the mark - really sorry if that's the case. I just like the guy, and I think he's been sounding a bit beaten down lately (which might be completely unrelated).

So we're not going to respect Kyle's wishes? There's a reason he deleted the stream himself. He even addressed it in the video where he just wasn't comfortable with leaving it up.

Damiani snubbed for trending gamer again, EZA should boycott

The previous winners being TotalBiscuit, Greg Miller and Boogie.

I dont think it's an award you want to win and be associated with (although Greg's fine, it was an award won off the back of a collaboration with Colin, so it's only half tainted that year!)

I haven't played a Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 1 and have no intention on going back ever, but Huber was getting me pumped for WW2. The man is an absolute hype animal.

A free evening for food and Frame Trap (and a couple of ales). Bonus Kyle Q&A too. Many thanks to Szeth for grabbing the Kyle stream, like the rest of non-US EZA Era, I would have missed out on an interesting stream without you taking the time. Maybe the issue is worth a Cup of Jones question?

Looking forward to watching the Kyle stream and Frame Trap later. Was too depressed to watch anything after my Knicks lost.

Greg Miller is a good dude. Collin doesn't work for kinda funny anymore for a reason, it's time to stop associating him with the great work kinda funny is doing. I would specifically like to call out kinda funny games daily, a fantastic 1 hour rundown of all the days gaming related news.

I said Greg's fine, but the award was handed out in 2015.

Speaking of (ex-) KF, there's a question under the most recent Patreon Cup of Jones post begging the Allies to do something with Moriarty now that he's come crawling back to videogames coverage.

Nah.
I hope not. Maybe I'm too extreme but I really wouldn't like the thought even a fraction of my little student money I have to go towards that person. I'd quit my EZA patron subscription over it.(this of course assumes it would be content where they would book him, I'm neutral about a cooperation where that is not the case.)

Edit: to give some context to not just make this seem out of nowhere hate. I'd just feel deeply troubled about knowing the guy financially profited from me given a lot of statements he's made that made him leave KF and since then. With the most recent being the whole using Asians as the successful "foreigner" scapegoat to downplay racism as a problem.

Hmm, I don't see it happening. I imagine they would want to avoid any drama that would bring, regardless of how they feel about him personally.

It'd be criminal to work with Moriarty before Tim Gettys, who loves them and has been wanting to collab with them for a long time.

It probably is Colin under an alt begging for relevance after his third-grade level alt-right history show was haemoraging patrons.

EDIT: There's a reply to that post saying "I hope not". Gave it a heart.

LTTP, but Opinion Yell was wunderbar. I liked how Huber just acted like his normal self hahaha.

Will they be re-streaming/reacting to The Game Awards? I don't think there's any other way I could possibly watch another round of the Keighleys.

That segment on fiduciary duty needs to be broken out into its own YouTube video. It was both enlightening and depressing. Seems like America needs to open up a category for a corporation under an Art/Entertainment category.

Screw Colin. Should stay as far away as possible from the Allies.

FT was great. Thought the hottake was a bit weak however. It seemed like the discussion was always skirting around the edges and ended up being too speculative as a result.

I personally never had an issue with the trailer because it told us a lot about the game and the world. But I also thought a lot of the criticisms were way overblown so eh.
