Wow lmao, half expect them to @Playstation next at this rate.
I imagine about 4,000 fans will handle it for them. Every time @PlayStation tweets.
That trailer is a sick burn on Sony.
Too bad MS messed up this gen. I didn't give a shit about the OG Xbox but goddamn if I didn't love the 360 as truly one of the GOAT systems.
Hope they bounce back next gen. I found MS super likeable during the 360 gen, much more than I've ever liked Sony. I liked Sony best in the PS1 era, but even then they kinda had this arrogance to them.

I have a PS4 but I barely use it. There's games I want and everything (a bunch actually), but I don't have time for them all, I don't even have time to play my Switch as much as I want (even though Fortnite has a huge grip on me).
And I literally played crossplay last night with a friend from work who has an Xbox.

Omg this is so exciting. Lets get Chief, Banjo, Conker, and Joanna in Smash and build a cross platform Goldeneye STAT.
So why do they allow crossplay with these other platforms in other games?
MS messing up is the best thing that could have happened to them for consumers. Phil Spencer's rapid promotion, cross play, backwards compatibility, play anywhere, gamepass, ea access, the xbox one X, the UI improvements, clubs/lfg, and their new, big investments into 1st party. Who knows if any of this would have happened if they were riding 1st place.
Sony got roasted.
Bring more of these, any ads showing how good for us consumers is crossplay is always good.

Unfortunately I think that's all we'll get from this.

Sony has been really fucking up late gen by not being at the forefront of where gaming is heading
PS4 Pro is a big disappointment and not nearly as powerful as Xbox One X.
No crossplay.
No gamepass or Netflix like solution for access to a library of games. (Even AMC theaters making that monthly pass $$)
Accessibility controllers and additional options for disabled on other platforms.
Still can't name change on PSN.
If things continue this way I'm definitely switching back to Xbox as my main platform for the next go around at things.
They don't allow cross play with any game on other consoles. Rocket League, Fortnite, Paladins. None of these games require Microsoft accounts.
why doesn't Sony allow crossplay with popular 3rd party games like Fortnite (and, of course, I mean full fat crossplay)? no xbox live what's the big deal?
also I asked for receipts, I'd love you to actually back your claim up with more than just your own speculation. if you can't I'd recommend not making the claim in the first place as it's mere speculation and, frankly, misguided speculation given the pattern we've seen with all the other games. this isn't an isolated incident.

Great trailer! If you told me 10 years ago we'd see an Xbox/ Nintendo crossplay trailer featuring both their logos I'd have thought you a crazy son of a bitch. This has to be the future. We'll be telling our grandkids about a time before crossplay and trailers like this causing hype.

And I would think we'd have the same reaction. But instead of hypotheticals, we should deal in reality. And the reality is what it is right now. Gaming's culture is in a shift with this cross-play issue. It can't be stopped. The pressure can't let up until it happens across the board. It's going to be a great time!
Amazing. I am dreaming of a Microsoft-Nintendo partnership console next gen. At this point, I'm rooting for Microsoft to acquire EA and Capcom. More and more, Sony is making strong signals that they have no business in belonging in the business. It would be poetic justice if crossplay/bc and it's general anti consumer policies led to their demise.

Use your common sense of read any number of articles on the subject, all essentially conclude the same thing.
Sony don't allow cross play with consoles (whom they regard as direct competitors) but they do allow cross play with PC, Mac, iOS and Android with other games. The only example where they've refused crossplay with these other platforms is Minecraft, and the only differentiating variable is that Minecraft crossplay forces you to sign up to Xbox Live (which is Sony's primary competitor) in order to achieve shared play. Obviously Sony isn't going to be ok with that, especially when they've invested so much in to pushing PSN.
Phil's reasoning for this was as follows.
"We use Xbox Live as the way to make sure we know who our players are, controls around parental controls and other things that we put into our platform are there. And as you're buying things in 'Minecraft,' you want to make sure you have them available on other platforms, so we have to know who you are. If you have a realm that you've created on the PC and you want to get to it on the Switch, we have to have an identity system and we just use Xbox Live."
Thing is, none of the other crossplay games have this requirement, and can manage what Phil is talking about without having to force all platforms to sign in to one or another competitors service.

Very true, I think it is inevitable and it is going to be awesome! And stepping on Sony's throat to force the issue is great because hopefully, they change sooner rather than later. I'm just surprised that so many people are pissed off at Sony for simply playing the game (no pun intended).
Let's not act like Microsoft was super controlling with the 360 at the same time.
Don't go that far with it. I don't want to see a Sony demise. I'd rather see them learn from this. It was Microsoft's mistakes this gen that I feel have turned them into what they are today. The competition needs to be there for our benefit.
