I would love to see the player count for Gt sport....game is really lacking content.
I shouldn't bite but I will... Really? So you've driven every car and mastered every track already? Completed all the single player stuff and achieved the top level online?

I think I've put about 80 hours into the game so far, have only driven about half the cars I've got, and many of those only briefly. I'm not expert on many of the tracks, I'm near the end of tier 6 of the missions and have done about 5 of the circuit experiences. Yes it's not a traditional GT but this whole no content thing is fucking rubbish if you like driving.

Yes I have...compared to it's competition it is lacking tracks, cars, things to do. I can master every track, car in other games and have way more content doing it. How is it rubblish? It factually has low content compared to other games, even other GT games.

Really! - Whats your PSN, I wanna see your profile :-)

So there is less single player stuff and lower car & track count than the other 2 games. That is a fact. I just don't agree that it lacks content, there is a massive amount to do if thats where your interests lie. There's a way better online infrastructure despite it's current faults. It all depends where you spend your time. I clocked in over 800 hours on Driveclub mainly through playing online, and that had no competitions or qualifying etc.

But hey, some people like smashing dumb AI off the road to win races, each to their own.

The massive amount to do? Where? 20 second bite size challenges of each track does not constitute nar enough content, it is also way too easy to gold almost all of them. Agree to disagree.

The victim's car would also take damage though, and in some cases may come out with worse damage than the agressor. Consider a well-timed shunt head-on into a barrier at a chicane, for example.

Yes, this would be a sideeffect, just like the SR rating is now, in wich a player can be punished for other's mistake. But in the long term I believe it would help with people been more carefull.

Mechanical damage is set to low so far in the FIA championships, so to say that they are not using it is incorrect. They could be using it more for sure.

Ah, I didn't realize that. It must be very low then, because I've raced already in the FIA event and couldn't notice it. Anyway, IMO heavy damage should be used everywhere in the Sport mode.

I have over 30hrs of active race time in the game and not even touched the missions, still have 25% left to do of circuit experience and no intention to do them soon.

It would be cool to have gunma cycle center. Probably can't have full races on it but I would love to lap on it. See what it's like.

It's for people who want to learn how to be better driver. If you are into that, buy it and go into Sport mode after learning tracts in single player modes. If you here for carRPG or dumb fun don't bother. Others do that better.

I quite liked the Car RPG and Dumb fun that GT offers it's a Shame they ripped that out... If this game is for elitists then I guess I'll pass.

Well it's not the old GT (tho some aspects remain) but it's something more akin to Battlefield or COD where the competitive online is the main experience. If that's elitist then it's elitist.
jayu26 made it sound like it's only for people who have steering wheels and pretend to be actual race drivers... seemed to be hinting that anyone who liked those other aspects of GT were dumb for liking it and to not even bother...
Competitive online doesn't make it elitest... the attitudes do.

Have we had any word yet from PD regarding any sort of DLC, events, or anything else in the pipeline? If not, they really need to get a community manager hired to talk to us.

Whilst there's lots of people who do use wheels the majority don't, myself included. The online also has a ranking system so once you've reached your level you should have close races. You are expected to know fair racing rules which isn't something GT puts across very well at the moment (it doesn't teach you that if you don't already know).

Just had the best race I've ever had in a video game. Dragontrail is truly the gift that keeps on giving. The whole pack, 20 cars, were all bunched together for 10 laps, and apart from the madmen that wanted to overtake on the chicane, the racing was side by side throughout. So tense chasing a couple in front, but also having to defend a couple behind you.

Worth pointing out i'm around 60% through missions and ain touched the circuit experience stuff...I'm upto around 20hrs...
Close to the same for me. I've been taking my time, trying to gold everything before I move on to the next one. I have the last Mission section to start/complete (section 8?) and other than maybe an hour in Scapes/Photomode I am up to ~24hours in just the campaign mode. After Missions I will move onto Circuit Experience. Great game, hope PD reveals their plans for the future (tracks/cars). Their silence has probably been my biggest complaint with the game.

Speaking of Missions, did PD change the Nurb missions in an update? I was having troubles with one of them and went to youtube to check some lines/passing sections for others and theirs was different. They were given a car, whereas I had to use one from my garage.

Livid! Why the fuck do people always PIT me. I managed to go from 10th to 2nd with 1st a sniff away on blue moon and some cunt who I thought was cool as we were both racing together to get up to the leading pack decides to go full pelt into my back wheel and spin me out midway through a corner. The crash was that bad the car spun the entire straight and went around the next barrier by the time I recovered I had been lapped. At least I'm in A SR now. Really need to remember to save the replays the crash alone would have been a great gif. But seriously pissed off, the way I had been racing to that point I felt I could have won. 15 laps as well we had both been racing before that happened.

I'd say it's a fair tradeoff. In the short term people would complain, but longer term I think it would have a 'chilling effect' on people using their cars as weapons and being aggressive in turns.

I was about to suggest that it might be some translation error between the wheel and the game through drivehub. Then I saw this topic on the chronusmax forums
http://cronusmax.com/forums/showthread.php/176526-Gt-sport-Problem-G27

Could it be that the wheel was too sensitive anyway but became more obvious when driving the cart?

Wheel is fine driving any other car, the problem is just with karts

The thing is i know G27 on PS3 we could change the degrees of rotation by pressing 2 buttons then choose between 4 degrees, but on PS4 one of those buttons is to take screenshots, so dont think it works

Guys on here are great, online of course you get the odd knob / over aggressive git (as GC experienced in the post below yours) but it's easily the cleanest racing I've had on a console game.

With regards to racing etiquette, the general rules are leave room if someone is alongside you and no contact between cars - there's lots of finer points about whose in the right or wrong with regards to lines around corners that were posted in a bid on here but I can't find it at the mo - there should be plenty on YouTube.

Chalk up another 2nd place finish @ Blue Moon!
Again, was a whisker away from the win! :(

Damn you're good on that track :-(

I can remember being able to do that with the g25. And as far as I know that function was part of the wheel itself and not the console or software. I can recall changing the rotation on the fly on my pc. So it can't hurt to try and compare these different settings. See if a normal roadcar is giving you 1:1 rotation compared to your wheel. If so, let's hope things get patched for the carts.

Btw GT6 is like.... 10GB?

How would you guys feel about a GT6 content download for GT:Sport, you can use all tracks and cars and even the GT mode, but it uses the PS3 assets. Yay or nay?

Well, my first and last FIA oval race: qualified 2nd and then this asshole bumped into me in the second lap making me spin 3 times at 270 km/h. Went into the barriers as well so by the time I rejoined I was last and 10 seconds behind the next one

Well, at least I ended up with positive SR lol

No, I don't believe there is. If someone knows how, I would love to see it. It's a feature I've enjoyed since PGR2.

I mean, we're supposed to get better right? I'm not a great player by any means and that"s fine, but I'd like to know how to try to close the gap of 2-4 sec on most tracks and even 0.5 on the current oval sport race today.

man, what is it in Dragon's tail and people trying to pass in the chicane at the end with the barriers, of course the one behind me tries to PIT-pass me, but I managed to hold it and they slammed in the barriers and despite that I am the one that gets the 10s + SR penalty, cmon.... and this was in S which you'd think should be full of people that do not do that kind of stuff. Last two laps I gained 5 positions due to people trying to pass there and causing major crashes.

It would be a great feature but the next best thing right now would be to examine the replays Of those you play with.

Nah. I say that would be hell to balance with the rest of the game.

So do the driving aids, namely ASM, really help you go faster? I play without ASM and other assists aside from TC and ABS because it's more fun, but from watching videos it seems they help you go faster, is that right?

Sounds exactly what happened to me last week. That one chicane ruins the track for me in Sport mode.

I'd be well up for that, I really miss the A110 and Celica, although as a long time defender of the standard cars in GT5/6 (remember how that made people lose their minds?) I'd limit it to just single player, if only to stop the insanity that would ensue.

I've had some great races on that track today. Watching people wreck themselves at that chicane is art.

I've been letting people past me if they are close behind before the double chicane at the end simply because it's better for them to feel the pressure of someone behind them and take themselves out rather than the other way round.

The key is if someone wants to try and take that section side by side with you just let them go, they are clearly stupid and will inevitably fuck themselves up anyway. Especially so if they don't have the line.

So do the driving aids, namely ASM, really help you go faster? I play without ASM and other assists aside from TC and ABS because it's more fun, but from watching videos it seems they help you go faster, is that right?

Depends on the car. With certain GR3 cars I'm slightly faster with it on but for others I'm faster with it off. With GR4 cars and below I always set to to be off. It also helps on bumpy circuits like the ring. Just mess around with it on different car/track combos and you will get a feel for where it will help you to be faster and where it doesn't.

Is there a way to download ghosts from the top 10 times?

Go to their profile in the game and check if they've shared the replay for that lap. You should be able to download it from there.

I am going to try to contact Sony. I have the option to win a press kit by Friday and I am going to tell them that I will trade it for an online audience with Yamauchi :-D
I hope I win!!

I just got GT Sport last Friday and i played pretty much every day. It´s just so focused on the multiplayer aspect and the community is really not that bad.
But i really do not understand the penalty system. Can somebody tell me what the problem was in this case:

Keep in mind, i am the subaru that overtakes on the left and i got a 10 second penalty. I mean it looks like i did not even hit the porsche

There was nothing you did wrong. No idea why you would even get a penalty for that.

Didn't notice Dragon's tail was on softs today. My braking was slightly off during the single lap I had to qualify. Started 8th finished 2nd, promoted back to S SR. Was driving 1.41's every lap barring the first, did notice I had to tweak my brake balance later on though, could be that I was imagining things but I did better when I tweaked it.

But damn the M6 is a joy to drive around that track.

He's just good regardless. If I ever saw Anythingbut in the Driveclub lobby I knew I wouldn't be winning that race.
AnythingBut and I have had some great races over the years(!) and yeah he'd usually beat me too :-)

Looks like a slight bump from the back. Don't mind the penalty's as much. In the grand scheme, if you drive cleanly most of the time, you will get higher up in the ranks. I've had plenty of red S's at the end of races, some my fault, and I have never gone down in rank ever since I attained S.

Funny story: I ended up spinning out at Brands Hatch because my rear tire touched the gravel a bit and I lost a couple of spots. In my attempt to catch up, I rear ended a guy named Alerik13. It was on the fast right hander after the long straight. Hit hard because he braked at an earlier point than I do. I felt bad super terrible about it so I waited for him off line before the next right hander. I slowed down and the pack behind me caught up. Well, one guy, schmedVegas (part of some top 10 times) rear ends me. He was attempting to make an early pass inside and didn't expect me there (should have since I saw him coming up). 30+ seconds penalty for him I found out later. Anyway, in my attempt to fix one problem, I caused another. Mental note, when waiting for others, get off the course and do the waiting there.

So, I let the Alerik13 dude pass and then I saw him waiting for me a couple of turns later. I was confused at first but I knew his end game. He was rightfully pissed and was aiming to return the favor. I was a lot faster than him so I put some distance between us and sure enough...the next slow bend, I slow WAY before my braking point and here he comes rushing inside...and then out of the track. His attempt to get back at me failed. Now, ask me how I remember those names well? Yup, both messaged me right after lol. Oh well, in this case no good deed went unpunished. Lessons learned.

Can we get a refresh of PSN names to add to people's list? Mine is Kaze13. Add me!

Was there some cheat way to qualify in the vgt one make? Was keeping up with people who qualified three seconds faster than me who didn't pull a race lap anywhere near that.

There may be certain corners that the penalty system misses. And driving with other people requires quite a different mindset, in my opinion.

Doesn't it feel great to be able to keep up with them? You can also examine the replay to see which corners those guys cut more than you would.
