Q: WHEN AND ON WHAT PLATFORMS WILL THE FALLOUT 76 B.E.T.A. BE AVAILABLE?
A: The B.E.T.A. will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net). Stay tuned for exact timing for each platform here and @Fallout on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please note that the B.E.T.A. for Xbox One will begin first, followed by other platforms.

They should have done Game Preview on Xbox. That would have been great getting to play the game starting in like August and see the major updates as it gets closer to launch in November

I have a feeling this is gonna be a really rough beta. The jank on an unfinished BGS title combined with the fact that this is the first time they've done online for their games

At least this seems like it will be the first time anyone from not Bethesda has ever played it, lol.

Weird that the game wasn't playable for journalists or e3.

Eh, would rather the thing be at the same time for all. And I'm going to be playing on my One X so nominally I benefit but still think this isn't good.

After all, a beta is meant to be there to find bugs and issues with server management. When you give timed exclusively to it you're basically making it a demo, and even then, it's not nice practice.

Hopefully not for long. The PC version has 100% custom infrastructure that needs to be tested way more than yet another Xbox Live game.

this was known for a while considering the page was up just after the conference the real question is when and not to put the thread so much off track but will the PC version be 100% Bethesda.net knowing the beta is on there but they are very hush about steam

Wait, is (via Bethesda.net) their new Launcher or they are just saying the website to get keys?

PC Beta only via Bethesda.net is by far the more interesting part about this news.
Yep, just went to their website, there's a Bethesda.net Launcher, I don't think they've always had it? This has to be the first right? Every Fallout mod has gone through Steam as I recall, so this gives them more control and a higher share of digital sales

It's the launcher. At this point I think the game is exclusive to it on PC since there's still no word on Steam.
Yep, I didn't know this, but looks like it's been in the work for 2 years now with old GAF posts about it. The new forced launcher is the big news here I feel. Ubi, Bliz, Bethesda, EA launchers all chipping away at Steam AAA profits.

They've had it for awhile. That's how I played Elder Scrolls legends before they brought it to steam.

People have been trying to get clarity on this from anyone at Bethesda but they're silent when asked. Pete won't respond to tweets about it, nor will the Fallout or BSG accounts. I personally don't care if it isn't on Steam, I just want them to say it definitely so I can stop waiting for it to pop up and just buy it on their store.

Got my code today from Amazon from a Xbox One pre-order, but when I entered it on Bethesda.net, there wasn't anything specifically about Xbox, just some stuff about the PC launcher. Hopefully it will become clearer soon.

It says on their site in the FAQ that they'll email you with instructions to pick your platform when it gets closer to the beta

So if you've already put your code in then you're good to go, you just have to wait now

Has the game been confirmed to have private servers yet? I would love to play with some buds but I don't really wanna build super complicated settlements and have it be destroyed by some randos.
