Yeah thats a good idea actually, I need to make a note of where all the cones are. I watched someone do a 3:18 yesterday and they used a lot of the road where the cones are so yeah those cones might not be there after a couple of laps...

Watching that in sync with my VR vid and it's the messy first sector where you make most of your time up over mine! I really need to work on the start of the lap now and how far over the kerbs you can safely go.

That VR experience looks amazing. I'll admit my jaw was pretty much on the floor watching that. I remember seeing some Driveclub VR footage with a Porsche 911 undertaking on an apex. That looked amazing too.
I actually really want it now but I just can't press the trigger. Ha!
Yeah I struggle with that section too. It's really easy to be aggressive in there and hit the dirt. I also have the same problem there as I do with Willow Springs -- the lack of track visibility. Because it's so flat and the walls are so far away from the track limits, I find it hard to judge where the turns coming up are.

I picked one up this week while it's on sale and I can honestly say I've been blown away by it. Initially I bought it solely for GT Sport but I've had so much fun with so many different experiences. VR + Wheel take immersion to the next level
Yeah with beat saber and tetris effect coming out I finally pulled the trigger with the sale. It hasnt come yet but cant wait!

If only it would go on sale in Dubai like the rest of the world. The distributers and retailers here rarely put anything on sale as there are too many rich people, the mark ups are insane enough as it is :/

Actually racing in VR is even better, looking out your side windows or in the mirrors to see where people are around you just adds to it immensely - just a shame we can only do it in DCVR and Dirt Rally at the mo.
Just too much stuff to experience at the moment eh bud! Even stuff like a platform game is a totally new experience in VR :-)

Where do you think you are losing the time?
Maybe you're like me, the longer you do that track the more penalties you get and the slower your times go! I did my quickest time on my 2nd lap and just couldn't get near it again without picking up a penalty :-( I bought the Porsche last night so I'll have a crack with that tonight if I get chance.
It took me a while but I managed a 3:22 with the Porsche (w/ cones and ABS default). It was in time trial, but I made a similar time in today's daily as well.
I think I'll go with the Porsche tonight, I'm more consistent. Anyone using the Toyota?
I'm kinda torn, I've set my fastest time with the Audi but like you feel I can be more consistent in the Porsche. Gonna decide in pre race practice which way to go (3:22 is 2 seconds quicker than I've managed in the Porsche tho!)
Just had my first few laps. I want to use the Toyota but from past experience it just doesn't put the laptime in. Will probably go with the Audi, I feel it is slower but more consistent for me.

I was pretty horrendous tbh, lack of concentration meant I was dumping it in the fast sections. (Only 2nd time at the track) First race from about the 2nd lap I needed the toilet so that didn't help either lol

I expected better but got too many penalties throughout quali and race.
At one point during race 2 I had 1.8 seconds of penalty, DHC-Shannow was 1.9 seconds behind, I decided to slow down so I could have a little battle with him (since CMOS was too far away), but not even 30 seconds later I hit a barrier and lose DHC lol. Fail.

Well that race went about as well as I expected. My pace on the front half was decent, but I lost time every lap on the Porsche Curves. Just can't take them at the speeds others do; I don't know if it's because I'm on controller, but any time I pushed harder I'd eat it. Didn't feel like I had enough steering precision to handle the curves at those speeds.
Race 1 I had at least consistent lap times (after that horrible first lap) and a bit better than I was doing during practice, hovering around 3:32. A few nice battles with Fifanutz and AbandonedTrolley. Race 2 I started in 3rd and was in 1st for a little while, but the pressure and lack of track familiarity caused me to lose time as I was passed by the usual suspects. Then I felt the pressure as DHC-Shannow was gunning for me while in 4th and I lost it going wide in the Corvette Curves(?) and felt like the whole field passed me in a few seconds. Tried in vain to catch up to cooldawn, but I was losing 2-3 seconds per lap to him on those damn Curves.
Would be interesting to do a mixed class race there with Gr.3 and Gr.1. They gotta do something about those track limits though.

I enjoyed the racing last night and felt I knida got away with not being as quick as some of the other guys but made fewer costly errors.
Race one I had a battle with CLR_CMOS and JamboGT for the lead for a lap and a half then thought I was gonna get clattered by GHG at the Mulsane corner but he ghosted straight through me only for me then to drive straight off the track :-( Spent the next few laps chasing the lead pack, I reduced the gap from 3 seconds to about 1.7 when GHG fell off into the kitty litter. Chasing that pack was hard as they'd make up 3-4 tenths on every straight by dragging each other along but then hold each other up in the corners. JamboGT lost the lead on lap 5 then lost the back end coming out of one of the slow corners and I was back up to 2nd about 2 seconds behind CLR, but I had a brain fade coming out of the final chicane and stuck it in the gravel myself. Luckily I had a big enough gap and I could keep 2nd place for the final lap.

Ah right, I forgot that right before I went off, Sejanoz was ghosted for some reason, and then I had both you and him right on my tail. That ghosting always distracts me and I'm wondering if ghosting should just be turned off.
Yeah it was pretty mad, Sejanoz was ghosted but because of his connection tends to glitch and lurch around so it's hard to know exactly where he is or going to be, then Bradley was closing in fast too so there were 4 of us in close formation going through there which is why you lost so many places.
When you connected to my server the other night you were rock solid but when GHG is host it does tend to be like this.
That's how you look in pretty much every race I've seen you; as DHC said maybe it's a compatibility issue with you and GHG, either the connection from Italy to Dubai or maybe a NAT issue.
Yeah it's crazy how bunched up the top half was. In 8th place I was pretty much by myself most of the time. And poor Bradley, I think I held him up on the first race as he slammed into me from behind a couple times, probably not realizing how slow I was taking some of those curves. Track knowledge is so important and I think some of us just didn't have enough. I'm hoping the LMP1 Suzuka race will be a bit closer.

Unless these races are somehow a bit earlier for the next group of races after this season I'm having difficulty seeing how sustainable it will be for me going forwards since my schedule on Sunday has changed (I need to be up at 7:30 am on Sundays now). I'm knackered before the races even start at midnight for me and as time progresses towards 1am the playseat challenge has become the most comfortable nap hammock imaginable and I'm literally falling asleep in the thing! I tried my best this weekend as I feel bad shooting off straight after the main races but it just wasn't happening.
Coffee does nothing, I'm getting old :(

If someone else wants to host I'm happy for them to do so to see if it will alleviate any network issues as long as they can promise me they will save the race replays and share them in game for me to be able to grab the results from them.

Earlier works for me. However I don't think it does for DHC-Shannow. It's always gonna be difficult finding a time that suits everyone. Hopefully we can work something out!

I could try hosting if no one better comes up, I know I've always been fine in DHC's lobbies though.

I should be able to do an hour earlier - It might mean I miss the odd qualifying or first race but hopefully not.

I have their 350 Vivid tariff but highest I've ever hit on WiFi is about 300, will check the Pro tonight for upload. I run a 30 meter cable down to the cabin now but need to change the router there as it's only got 100Mbs speed Ethernet on it

Ok we will leave this season as it is as that's what I've committed to (along with everyone else) but we can hold a vote for the timings for the next season (whatever that looks like in terms of race format).
