<3 Keep on being awesome! :)
I agree on both accounts. MS had more games I'll be playing than Sony did, but none of them I'll be playing on Xbox. And pretty much nothing in the Nintendo conference interested me.Anyone else feel like Microsoft's press conference was a great E3 press conference but a bad Xbox conference? Outside of the new Halo that appears to be open world, there isn't much coming to that console that would entice me to buy one when PlayStation or even the Switch exists. All their new studio acquisitions are a big deal, but new games from those studios will probably still be a way out and it remains to be seen whether they can produce the kind of games we're used to seeing from Sony and Nintendo first party studios.
I also thought Nintendo's was super underwhelming. Did they really need to spend 30 minutes talking about what were essentially Super Smash Bros. patch notes? The announcement of all the characters returning was so hype and then they followed up with something pretty dull. Also, where were the new game announcements? Outside of Mario, Zelda and the proper Pokemon game for 2019 I'm still struggling for reasons to buy a Switch. I want to buy into this console, but I've been fooled by so-so offerings of games on Nintendo platforms too many times before.

There's no especially strong reason for them to. The margins on software are waaay better than the margins on hardware. The main reason why MS / Sony want you to buy their latest hardware is as an incentive to keep buying software on their platform. So as long as you're buying a game on the Xbox ecosystem then MS is making the same amount of money. As soon as they announced that Xbox would be sharing games with Windows, a majority of the reason for owning an Xbox went out the window. I agree with you simply because they have done little to really provide a reason as to why we must own an Xbox. For those with a PS4 and a PC, owning an Xbox is trivial at best right now. I honestly think they should go back to not sharing every single exclusive that way people are once again forced to pick up the latest Xbox.
They probably aren't that great due to UWP. Games Pass seems like a good idea to get people past that mental barrierWhat are the sales numbers like for Xbox exclusives on Windows? I feel like I don't see many people playing those games on PC.
Nintendo was my #1 for sure, but like Tim I was disappointed (especially by Fire Emblem) and felt Smash was given way more time than needed. Parse some of the details out for hardcore fans and drop that as a second trailer after the Invitational, similar to what they did for Splatoon 2 today.
Sony, was very dissapointing to me. I felt my time was being wasted. Also, I felt there was very little genre diversity. Everything felt like a 3rd person action adventure with heavy story elements. Where are the 2D platformers? The Patopons? The tactics games? I was a bit bummed out except Death Stranding looks insane in a good way!
Microsoft, I agree with what others said. I am pumped for Tunic, Jump Force, and War Groove among what was shown, but I can wait until these games get ported to Switch.
Even though the PS ecosystem runs deep, I didn't get that vibe with how they focused their presentation. In most years I would be reluctant to say their content ran together, but it really struck me when compared to Microsoft this year. MS had Cuphead DLC and Ori, which really impressed me. I felt a real push to diversify their content overall, which, granted, they need much more than Sony.No offence, but this is a poor criticism that I see constantly thrown around. If you think Ghost of Tsushima looks and plays like the Last of Us and Spider-Man and Death Stranding and Days Gone then I don't really know what to say. The only two games that can be called remotely similar other than being third-person (seriously, who cares that they're third-person?) is Days Gone and The Last of Us and that's purely because they both have zombie-like creatures. Not to mention you're completely disregarding Dreams, which is radically different. Outside of that zombie element, they're completely different. If you specifically want 2D platformers and stuff of that ilk there are literally dozens of games being released either by third parties or indies all the time.
Their analysis of the conferences as well as the "Everything We Played at E3" podcast are in my feed, although I'm not on Patreon so it might be a specific issue for that. Are the e3 podcasts showing up in anybody else's podcast feed? Not showing up on my Patreon one
I imagine the big incentive for selling people Xbox is to get them invested in the ecosystem. They get money from every game sold on Xbox live rather than just the few games they put on pc. Also not to mention getting people to subscribe to Xbox live and gamepass. Pushing your customers away from the hardware to PC must be losing them money. There's no especially strong reason for them to. The margins on software are waaay better than the margins on hardware. This just makes me even more terrified of flying because i have terrible anxiety and IBS and they pretty much go hand in hand.It appears Cool Greg was spending "too much time" in the bathroom on the plane and they kicked him off thinking he was probably doing drugs. Tim came to his defense and they kicked HIM off cause they said he was intoxicated, even though Tim says he hadn't been drinking. So, because Cool Greg looks the way he does, they just assumed he was using in the bathroom when in fact he was having stomach issues from being anxious about flying.
Really? I thought Andy Cortez was the only negative one while Tim and Greg were positive. Greg had positive feedback from the demo that he saw behind closed doors I thought?Geez, they were so lukewarm with Tsushima and I thought it looked amazing. Even their Twitch chat was unbearable. People literally typing "zzzzzz". Jebus.
My guess is it's just relationships he's built and Greg is very well liked among games people. But he does have a lot of followersDoes anyone know how publishers handle the influencer insignia when they decide who to give closed doors access to? Like is Greg still benefitting from the IGN days or is Kinda Funny just big enough to get that access?
It varies a lot, depending on three things primarily: how much space do they have to show off the game, how popular do they expect the game to be, and how ready is the footage. The less finished the demo is, the more the publisher wants to trust that the people they're showing it off to can appreciate how a game in development looks. But if you have a public-ready game and a good amount of space but your game isn't as popular, then you might be more lenient and let YouTubers in with only a few thousand subs.Does anyone know how publishers handle the influencer insignia when they decide who to give closed doors access to? Correct. So are the E3 interviews, impressions, etc not going to be on iTunes or Spotify?
We're big enough to get access. They understand the reach we have.Does anyone know how publishers handle the influencer insignia when they decide who to give closed doors access to? Like is Greg still benefitting from the IGN days or is Kinda Funny just big enough to get that access?

And here I am the podcast listener who didn't have a problem with it at allMan, that last Gamescast was awkward to watch at times (just read the comments as to why).
Huh, I listened to the podcast and didn't notice anything unusual. I presume this had to do with interruptions? which I felt since it was betting show results those would happen.
