Santiago, Chile
For deeper information, from June to December on the Switch we have (without counting 2D or party indie games because many don't find them exciting):
-Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, new game
-Sushi Striker, exclusive shared with the 3DS
-Octo Expansion, very substantial
-Fortnite, port
-Paladins, port
-Fallout Shelter, port on Switch and PS4
-Wolfenstein 2 the New Colossus, port, but the most impressive one
-Crash, new for anyone who doesn't have a PS4
-YS VIII, port
-Mario+Rabbids expansion, very substantial
-Mario Tennis, exclusive
-Captain Toad, Wii U port shared with the 3DS
-God Wars The Complete Legend, port
-Dark Souls Remastered, delayed on Switch
-Octopath Traveler, exclusive
-Megaman X Collection, not a new game, but not a port either
-Okami HD, port
-FireWatch, port
-SNK Heroines, new game
-Shinning Resonance Refrain, new for the west
-Labyrinth of Refrain, new for the west
-Code of Princess EX, upgraded version of the 3DS game
-Disgaea 1 complete, not a new game, but not a port either
-TWEWY, not a new game, but not a port either
-Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, exclusive upgraded version of the 3DS game
-Tales of Vesperia DE, not a new game, but not a port either
-Starlink, new game
-Fifa 19, new game, though TOO downgraded on the Switch
-NBA 2K18, new game
-Ark, port
-Arena of Valor. port
-Go Vacation, upgraded version of the Wii game
-Xenoblade 2 expansion, very substantial
-Just Dance 2019, new game
-Team Sonic Racing, new game
-Valkyria Chronicles 4, new game
-Pillars of Eternity 2, port on all consoles
-Super Mario Party, exclusive
-V Rally 4, new game, Switch version delayed
-Yomawari Collection, port of 2 games
-Dragon Ball Fighterz, port
-Pokémon Let's Go, exclusive
-Some Lego games, new
-SNK Collection, exclusive though not really a new game
-Elder Scrolls Legends, port on all consoles
-Gal Metal, new game
-Travis Strikes again, exclusive
-Megaman 11, new game
-Grim Fandango Remastered, port
-Smash Bros Ultimate, exclusive
-Some stuff I probably forgot
And that + some possible announcements (Gta V port, Diablo 3 port, Valkyria 1, Snack World and/or Layton localization, another Wii U port like Xenoblade X or Mario 3D World, the next Pannic buttom port, etc.)

In my opinion, as a console that is a handheld and that I don't expect to see the biggest AAA games on it (especially day one), this is a pretty good lineup; sure there are some games that are missing for no reason like PES, Maddem, NBA LIve and Soul Calibur, but overall, I think this is the best Nintendo third party support I have seen in years.

In the weak and the wounded
Aren't this games enough for 2018? (and there are some titles missing, like Team Sonic)

nintendo-switch_notizia-2.jpg
Well if people aren't interested in that lime up, then no, probably not.

Let's see how these games appeal to me, I'm guessing their will be some decent overlap for me and the other people this thread is about.

Q2:

Sushi Striker

People are wanting experiences they bought the system for like Zelda and Mario oddysee, no, sushi striker is not going to fit that bill. It looks like a cool arcade style experience. But there is a reason consoles killed the arcades. It's because people wanted bigger more engrossing adventures. For us, games like this arent even a factor for this discussion.

Spoiler alert: This is going to be a blanket cover that covers all arcade like games, including things like most racers, multiplayer arena shooters, fighters, sports games and their ilk. Games where you perform the same actions, with the same characters In The same arenas, every time you boot the game up. While I do like the tight controls and mechanics of arcade like games, I want them in an adventure, not disembodied matches.

Fallout Shelter
Oh hey, a free to play fallout minigame. This will totally make up for if fallout 5 doesn't come to switch. No.

Fortnite
I enjoyed fortnite. I played it a good bit. I Was also done with well before it came out on switch.... because I have a low saturation point for these kinds of games and they are fucking everywhere right now. As I explained with the blanket spoiler thing.

Hollow knight
Glad to see they got framerate/lag buttery smooth on switch. But I already beat this twice.

WolfenStein 2
This is cool, but I played it last year. Cool that it's portable though.

Splatoon 2
This is dlc.

Minecraft
I love Minecraft. I've also played it for a decade. Hell I thinking might be more than a decade now.

Mario tennis
games like this hold zero appeal to me. They never have. Also, that blanket thing I talked about.

The only games in q1 I would be interested in I have already played so much, that it's just not really a factor for me.

Q3:

Paladins
On one hand this looks like a well done hero shooter.

On the other hand I am so past my saturation point on this genre. And once again, that one pesky caveat I said would cover a lot of these games.

Crash n sane trilogy

Oh hey. They remade all those games incident really care for back when they first released. I am well aware this one won't have many people agreeing with me, because the crash games were popular and well liked for their time, before the milking. But once I played a game like mario 64, games like crash had a lot more trouble engaging me, than they did previously.... And they still had a lot of trouble engaging me, what with the whole in 3d but forced to stay on a track thing.

Toad
Played this on Wii u, it was pretty good. I'm not double dipping on a game I just played last gen.

Dark souls

I like dark souls. I've played the shit out of it. But I already know where to go, what to do and where everything is. No, this is not going to be something that quenches my thirst for a new exoerience.

Octopath Traveler
Fuck yeah.

Go vacation
I remember playing this franchise on Wii, somebody gave It to me with a bunch of other games they were going to throw away cause they were moving. It was... all right. Sports resort blew it out of the water.

I can't find any footage for this new one though, all the switch footage just shows content from the first ga....

Holy fuck its a Wii port.

Dude.

Overcooked 2

Ha. This looks pretty cool for what it is. It's still not something that's going to feed my needs. It's something i would play happily when satisfied. This also falls under that one caveat a brought up. It won't be the last, because this is definitely recurring pattern with this line up.

Monster Hunter generations
I have played this game three times.
Imported when it was X. Bought it when it was generations, then I imported XX. I'm good on round 4. Unless they added a bunch of monsters XX didn't have or some shit. Then fuck, I guess not Scotland will be seeing my ass again.

SnK heroines forced to fight in lingerie.
Ew. Also, I covered this at the beginning.

Xenoblade dlc
This is dlc.

The world ends with you

Cool. I love the world ends with you. And if this was a sequel it would totally work.

But I have already played this game I know what happens, where to go, what to do, and the best way to do it all. So even though I will probably get it. It will literally be almost like I am replaying the game again. Not exactly the stuff people talk about when they want new fresh experiences to fill out their year.

Fifa 19
These kinds of games have never interested me. As once again, covered way back at the beginning.

So Octopath Traveler. Fuck yeah.

1 game so far.

Q4:
Ark
Played this it's pretty good... when it actually works. Game has serious issues. Hope they iron them out for the switch release. Pretty decentralized though. I won't be getting a switch to play this again.

Just dance
Not my bag, baby.

Megaman 11.
Cool. It will be a great 3 hours.

Star Link
Yeah, this looks pretty awesome.

Pixark
You know, I don't think I connected this and ark until I saw the logos side by side. I love the look if this and the Minecraft esque focus. I sure am a sucker for that. If it can get away from the problems of its namesake, Id buy this.

Wasteland 2
Oh hey. I remember this, I played it like 4 years ago.

Arena of Valor
Oh hey another arena battler... yay.... remember that thing I talked about that would cover a lot of games I wouldn't be interested in?

Mario party
In have never liked this series. Which should be obvious by now because of that caveat I talked about at the beginning.

Let's go pokemon
I'm not really a Pokemon guy. I played blue all the way through... And I'm pretty much good. I've stepped back in here and there, but it's just not something that appeals to me.

On the other hand, I absolutely love magination, which was a blatant Pokemon homage. Probably because of the difference in theme and scope and the kind of adventure you go on...

Dragon ball fighter z
Usually this would fall under my blanket deal with these kinds of games, but like I said there are always exceptions. I mean come on, even if you are only a mild db fan, this shit is like sitting on a fluffy cloud of happiness while playing a game where you beat the shit out of people In the most ridiculous over the top way possible before exploding them with your laser breath. And it's portable?

Smash
Another exception. I am now well into my saturation point for games in usually not that interested in, and will be extremelyunlikely to be able to enjoy anything else like this for a while.

Carcassonne

I actually played the board game to this before it went digital.

But if course I am so rather enjoyed the video game version as well, which I've played on a couple platforms actually.

I mean dude:
Carcassonne for Facebook
A Facebook application.

Carcassonne for iOS
An iPhone and iPad application developed by TheCodingMonkeys.[This version has a Metacritic rating of 93% based on 10 critic reviews.

Carcassonne for Windows Phone
An Xbox Live-enabled Windows Phone 8 application.

(I have not played the windows phone poet, lol)
.
Carcassonne on mobile- and smartphones (Android, J2ME)
Developed by exozet games. Release: July/August 2011.

Yup. This was good.

Carcassonne: The Computer Game
A PC-based version of Carcassonne that included AI, online, and hotseat modes.[15] It was distributed only in Germany[15] by games company Koch Media[16] and discontinued in 2006.[17]
Carcassonne on BrettspielWelt (BSW)
Includes the expansions: The River, Inns & Cathedrals, Traders & Builders, Princess & Dragon, and King & Scout, as well as options to score based on different rulesets used across various editions of the game.
Carcassonne for Xbox 360

In 2006, Microsoft announced in a press release that Carcassonne would be an Xbox Live Arcade title[18] alongside Catan and Alhambra. The title was published by Sierra Online and released on 27 June 2007;[19] it includes all the tiles of the original game and those of "The River" expansion. This version of the game uses the 3rd Edition scoring rules by default; the game allows alternate and/or older rules for non-ranked and single player games. Sierra had promised to release the expansions as well. As of 30 October 2009, The River II expansion and King & Baron (King & Scout) expansions are available. On 15 November 2007, Microsoft made Carcassonneavailable free of charge for seven days to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their Xbox Live service.[20]

Carcassonne for Nintendo DS
Video game news website Kotakuannounced on 9 July 2009 that an iteration of the game will be released on Nintendo DS in 2009. According to Kotaku, the game will include the "River" expansion as well as three new "worlds" described as "Asian, Nordic and Arabic."[21]

I mean I may end up getting this. But not exactly a fresh experience for me.

Killer black queen

Oh cool. A new take on joust. Not quite going to fill that odysee/botw or literally any entry of Nintendo's massive stockade of franchises that could deliver a big adventure that I am looking for, to maintain that momentum of the first year, that experience people who enjos those kinds of games, enough to buy a switch, bought the switch for.

So let's see, how would my year on switch be.

5 games:

Octopath Traveler

This will probably keep me busy about a week.

Star Link
Looking at the nature of the game, and the fact all signs point to it being as good as it sounds, It will probably keep me busy for a week, and then on and off periodically after that.

Pixark:
If it's more reliable than it's non pixel namesake, and it has minecrafting elements, I could see this one being 2 weeks and then periodic spurts.

Dbz fighter z
A week or two, and then periodic revisits

Smash
A week or two and then periodic revisits. Especially now that I don't live in a house and not with a bunch of friends all living in rooms down the hall who will smash it up all night anymore.

So.... that's leaving a lot of time where I want games to play, but there are no offerings that appeal to me.... And a lot of these aren't really the kinds of games I made gaming my hobby for. Their the games I play inbetween those games.

Also, Grim Fandango Remastered isn't new, it and out 3 years ago.

Looks to me like there's plenty to play on the Switch this year. A lot of it doesn't interest me in terms of taste, but I can still acknowledge that there is stuff to play. There are months where I don't play my PS4 because the releases don't appeal to me, and Switch is no different. I dunno, it doesn't feel anything like the worst of the N64 or Wii U years to me.

How much free time do you guys have to spare?

I HOPE there is nothing else coming this year (except for, maybe, please, come one Square, Final Fantasy XIV or other Online Final Fantasy) and even so I don't have nearly enough time to play everything that I want through the rest of the year :S

If you cut all Wii U ports, Switch is having a really bad year so far with not that much on the horizon.

Sure, there are a lot of indie titles, but most of them have already been through at least two Steam Sales where they have been available for half the price of their respective switch version.

The range of third party ports is simply not satisfying. Dark Souls does not have a release date, the crash trilogy is now one year old and I am missing announcements like Spyro.

From my perspective (and what I've heard) this is how it goes:

- Publisher X develops Game Y.
- Game Y releases for PS4 and Xbox One. One lonely Developer will be assigned with handling the Switch Port.
- Publisher X has no need to announce the game quickly, because he is seeking an opportunity to get screentime in the next Nintendo Direct.
- Game Y releases for Switch almost one year after its original release, performance is not always perfect.

What I'm unsure of is where all the 3DS developers have been.

Where is professor Layton, ace attorney, etc.

Obviously Tokyo RPG factory has a game coming out, but I thought I would see more smaller games from bigger publishera, as opposed to lots of Indies.

IIRC, Level 5 was VERY reluctant to support the Switch at the beginning.

In May 2017, they said "at least one game" was in development for the Switch by Level 5:
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/05/level-5_is_working_on_at_least_one_nintendo_switch_game

Better focus from Level 5 towards the Switch wasn't announced until December 2017.
https://nintendoeverything.com/level-5-looking-to-focus-on-switch-in-2018/

In March 2018, Level 5 announced that basically all their future titles will arrive on the Switch:

Well yeah the AAA third party stuff was never going to be the same as the other two but saying the Switch had content issues, really?

Ok, this entire discussion is being done in bad faith
the lack of moderation in this thread is astonishing compared to other threads where mods roam rampant with ban hammer

Also, Grim Fandango Remastered isn't new, it and out 3 years ago.
but if you dont is pretty damn good line up, which brings us back to the issue, Stop this stupidity of "because I dont like it, it does not count" and acting as if you are a reflect of the market

This isnt about just you, this is for thousands if not millions of people, not you, its never just this one dude on a forum so this is quite irrelevant.

The very existence of this thread, and the fact this made the front page on shit like CNN, means it's not just me.

I very clearly stated I was giving a case sample using myself, and that for people like me, whom this thread was about, there would probably be a lot of overlap.

Troll harder.

Ooh, he clearly had an issue with copying and pasting on his phone better jump on that shit as soon as possible hurr hurrrr hurrr

Well, what kind of game do you like then?

Oh I don't know, maybe check out the examples I constantly use to contrast and explain why certain kinds of games that all fit in a similar categoey don't fill the needs people who liked what switch year 1 had to strongly offer and aren't finding that same kind of experience in year 2, let alone a stronger one.

the lack of moderation in this thread is astonishing compared to other threads where mods roam rampant with ban hammer
Careful what you wish for.

but if you dont is pretty damn good line up, which brings us back to the issue, Stop this stupidity of "because I dont like it, it does not count" and acting as if you are a reflect of the market

If it has no value to us, it doesn't count for us.

And we ARE part of the fucking market.

And apparently their is enough of us for a thirty plus page fucking thread and front page news stories on shit like CNN.

Sorry the knowledge of our existence is so uncomfortable for you.

Bizarre point of view imo. E3 saw Switch take on the biggest multiplayer game in the world: these two weeks have been absurdly busy for owners of the system. And upcoming towards the end of this year are a new Pokemon game and Smash Brothers.

It didnt help During GC era.

The Gamecube era was a different time and the system itself had some issues (from small ones like the controller not having as many buttons as the other systems to bigger one like the small size of the mini-DVDs and being the lowest selling of the three systems).

Still Gamecube got decent AAA third party support. The Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, SSX, Spider-man, Burnout, tons of Sports games, Lord of the Rings games, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty and more were all there. Of course it missed out on the GTA games but still third party support on Gamecube wasn't horrible (especially considering how many games were PS2 exclusives).

This isnt about just you, this is for thousands if not millions of people, not you, its never just this one dude on a forum so this is quite irrelevant.

So, I think threads like this are unnecessary to begin with, but is a poster supposed to really give a shit what other people like? I wouldn't discuss how great a system is that had few games that I'm interested in, because they're not my own feelings. Pretty much everything on this forum that's now news comes down to the specific poster's opinion and everyone around have to accept that. Buuuuuuuuuut........ these threads don't ever lead anywhere so I typically think they're made in bad faith or with an agenda anyway.

You don't have to end every sentence with "IMO" or "I'm sure others disagree" because that is implied thsg a given person doesn't speak for everyone.

You can not tell me with an straight face than 2017 "had a way better line up" than this year

As far as big titles that appeal to me, I most definitely can. Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Mario & Rabbids - it was an amazing year of big new Nintendo games. This year has games, but no where near the same calibre (and once again, ports of Wii U games do not compare to new games)

Xenoblade dlc
This is dlc.

Splatoon 2
This is dlc.
First of all, you completely ignored what I just said, especially with regards to DLC: These can be considered full game campaigns, especially Octo Expansion.

Heck, they could probably release Octo Expansion as its own game like what they're doing with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna: The Golden Country, but with the way Splatoon 2 is structured (multiplayer component heavily tied to the experience), I guess they couldn't make it work as a separate release.

This thread is becoming more and more a soapbox for "Nintendo is not giving us ANYTHING that we want"...

So yeah, I disagree whole-heartedly with this thread.

I like how The Last of Us HD apparently counts as a wonderful PS4 launch title but any and all ports of Wii U titles automatically "don't count" for increasingly arbitrary reasons and whenever you point this out you get labeled as a troll.

That Q2 and Q3 each look much better than Q4, overall. Octopath Traveler and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate are games that I would definitely buy.

Q4 only has Smash Bros. as a saving grace in my eyes. The quarter actually looks dire outside of that. If Mega Man 11 runs well on Switch, it's a good option for people who want something else to play on the system.
The reason is simple. Being the latest part of the year, that's also where there's the highest chance we could see new announcements being dropped.
Next month there's the panic button big game for example and there should be more later (as Nintendo said so), like during an hypothetical September direct.
The might introduce 2019 contents but also late 2018 games releasing soon.
Last year got Doom for example, shown only a few weeks before release.

I don't think many Nintendo consoles can compete with the amount and quality of games the Switch will have in it's first 2 years. That's with a slower 2018. And sure there are ports, indies, multiplatform titles.. but still, the Switch is building an incredible library early on.

Yeah, I did this thing where I told this one kid to pick a number between 1 and 9 and whatever he picked would end up the year in the past I would use, like 95 or some shit, and he googled, and he fucking bailed like a napalm nuke was coming his way.

Switch had a very strong first year. If you bought the console for game experiences like botw, Mario oddysee, and xenoblade, that momentum has come to a screeching halt in year two.

The fact that that first year line up is pretty good compared to Nintendo consoles of recent years past loses a lot of oomph you once you deal with The fact the vast majority of Nintendo consoles (ie not the wii... well, the first half of the wii at least) have had horrible content throughput problems since the n64.

Being better than horrible is not our lofty goal.

Ah, so you now speak for everyone now, huh? Amazing how your preferred list of games is now suddenly what everyone wants.

LMFAO.

Yeah that's what's going on.

What's the point of the whataboutism?

Switch had a much stronger first year.

This isn't the first year. People bought the switch at launch because it provided a fantastic value.

People are now seeing that value plummet, as the second year has a huge reduction in the experiences they bought the system for.

This isn't necessarily true though. Last year, ignoring ports, the major Switch titles were Breath of the Wild, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Fire Emblem Warriors.

This year, the major Switch titles are Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Octopath Traveler, Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

That seems pretty even to me and even better when you consider the Switch has far better third party support this year. And even though Smash Bros Ultimate and Pokemon Let's Go won't be generation defining critical darlings like Breath of the Wild and Odyssey, they'll be very good games and be much more significant commercially than anything Nintendo releases last year.

So I have to ask, where is this "huge reduction in experiences" you speak of? Quantitatively speaking that's an absolute myth.

Mainly because AAA 3rd party publishers are always very biased against Nintendo while always favoring Microsoft & Sony, especially western 3rd party publishers.

There is no bias. There's a reason why most AAA third party games skip Nintendo platforms, a pretty big one and it has nothing to do with bias against Nintendo. Stop with this nonsense.

The Swich will have a few really good to great Nintendo games every year. Occasionally a year might have several mid-tier games that are good or even great and some years these games will be middling. Many of the most lauded Switch games will be in franchises that have existed for 15+ years and at this point either you still enjoy these games enough for them to be a selling point of the console or you're disinterested enough to where they don't really factor in. The Switch will get some third party AAA support, but a significant number of them will never come to the Switch and several of them will release late and/or as an inferior version.

All of this sounds pretty familiar yeah? The Switch's portability make it unique and I think went a long way towards making it such a huge seller up until this point in its life cycle. Ultimately, the actual games are not drastically different that what you could have expected from the Wii U, or Wii, or GameCube (which had pretty respectable third party support).

So in a way, I think it's legacy will be similar to every Nintendo console after the GameCube (maybe even as far back as after the SNES?), and that is if you like Nintendo games and the general design philosophy and broad aesthetics then you will view the Switch very favorably; and if you don't care that much about Nintendo games, you'll only see what the console lacks and view it negatively. The Switch will undoubtedly have a more positive outlook than the Wii U, but that's almost intrinsically tied to hardware sales and not the quality of the games.

I didn't read the middle of the thread but for the first few and last few pages, I didn't see anyone trying to say that's the majority of the market, only the like-minded ones in the thread and such. Maybe there are some and I just didn't read those posts, but that's what's so weird to me. Posters get all up in arms over differences in tastes.

Well, let's see what kinds of games these are.

Breath of the Wild- big engrossing single player adventure

Super Mario Odyssey- Big engrossing single player adventure.

Xenoblade 2- Big engrossing single player adventure.

Fire Emblem Warriors: was this considered a big one? Eh, sure why not. Engrossing single player adventure.

, ARMS, -uniquely controlled arcade style fighting game, multiplayer focus.

Splatoon 2- multiplayer focus.

This year.

Kirby Star Allies,
All star allies? What is this finally the big engrossing Kirby game that goes all in on Kirby style gameplay for the first time ever in a fully realized 3d adventure!!!???

Oh. Well at least it's kirby style gameplay and not a spinoff. But uh... yeah....

Mario Tennis Aces -Multiplayer focused vs sports game.

Super Mario Party -multiplayer focused minigame collections.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and Super

It's somehow mixing normal Pokemon with Pokemon go? I'm not much of a Pokemon fan. But I see no shortage of people who are who aren't exactly chomping at the bit for this.

Smash Bros Ultimate multiplayer focused fighter.

Octopath Traveler engrossing single player adventure.

Oh man.... there's some kind of patterb there on why there is this group of people who got a switch for year one aren't exactly thrilled with offerings for year 2....

But I just can't seem to put my single player engrossing adventure finger on it.

Who knows why they aren't particularly satisfied. Must just be a bunch of Nintendo haters.

Insulting, name calling, ignorance of facts, proud statements of opinions as if they were facts, and yet it is you who is accusing everyone of trolling.

Ok.

I have a sneaking suspicious the "double-dip" culture is affecting this as well. If this 'delaying the Switch port' trend keeps happening I'll be more convinced of it.
Think about it: You release your game on PS4 and Xbox1 - a game Switch fans would obviously want. Then you wait for a while and release it 6 or 12 months later. It will create a new buzz about the game that has perhaps died down in that time and fans will either buy it for portability or double dipp. You also have the benefit of releasing the game full price when the game has already dropped price on other systems( Because you know this happens) and It also has the benefit of featuring in a Nintendo Direct like you mentioned.

This might be a conspiracy theory but I cannot deny it would work. I'm sure most developers don't resort to these shitty tactics but I'm pretty sure some have considered it.

Its because its this kind of thread that people dont think of the big picture, people will call something a "drought" but clearly there isnt a drought and that contradicts the whole premise, in order to agree with the OP is to not consider these facts.

Well yeah.... but think of it this way.

These companies have tons of money riding on each other and strong business relationships spanning decades, while Nintendo has always been the odd man out of the room.

Who do you really think third parties are going to be loyal to? You think a company like Sony, who will hold your account hostage if you game on a Nintendo platform really wants third parties releasing their biggest core franchises on an up coming Switch console which is taking over the industry? Obviously they will do whatever it takes to protect their interests and make sure their core games are not divided on yet another platform.

I think it's more a switch port takes more work than porting between similarly powered systems, which can basically be done at the same time, but to port to a portable system that is much weaker requires time and personell that cant really be spared during the development of the main sku.

I can't see that changing unless the switch audience and attach rate for those kinds of titles blatantly eclipses the ps4 and xbone, justifying the switch becoming the main sku, and ps4/bone getting up ports.

Which... I don't see being a likely scenario.

It has Binding of Isaac and Hollow Knight, 2 of the best games ever.

If Binding of Isaac wasn't £30 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But when I already got it on PC for a third of the fee (if that?), no way am I double dipping at such high price.

I think this is my problem with Switch in general. I just don't feel that many of the ports are worth the money they're asking. In general there are a fair few games I'd like to play on the system still, but just not at that price. Even something like Octopath Traveller I'm having a hard time justifying for the price of it. I love an old fashioned JRPG. But do I love it for £50? I don't think I do.

I'm also out of the target demo for much of the content coming later this year. Never cared about Smash, not really a sports game guy. Play enough shooters elsewhere so Splatoon doesn't do anything for me and I've no interest in playing downgraded ports of things like Wolfenstein or Doom (games also available on PS4 for a third the price in frequent sales). The indies are keeping me going right now but I'd love some meaty new games on this thing. Games designed for the system.

That I recognize that I don't speak for everybody so when something comes along that doesn't immediately strike my interest, I just....allow it to exist and not throw a hissy fit because games I want aren't coming. Like, I enjoy TRPG and I have had very few games to enjoy over the past few years not named FE or Disgaea. Yet you don't see me running around screaming how Xbox doesn't have any games because they don't cater to my tastes. You don't see me demand that Sony stops making the Last of Us II because I am so important that I need every game to bow to my preferences. I don't start pretending that games like Detroit: Become Humans, Gears of War, Forza, or any games other people like don't count because of an arbitrary list. I just am perfectly content to wait and buy the games I like. I also don't like people who continuously argue in bad faith than turn around and accuse everyone else of bad faith arguing like he's arguing in front of a mirror.

Yes, because this thread is full of people demanding Mario party to be cancelled, so they can make a new kid icarus switch or some shit....

And Not full of people saying Nintendo should have invested in their own studios and content throughput capability years ago, so they can still have those games for those people who lile them, and also wont leave entire groups of their audience high and dry.

I agree wholeheartedly with 4859 . As someone who bought Switch for big single-player experiences like Mario and Zelda, this second year was incredibly disappointing and lackluster overall. The games line-up is incredibly lacking to me, even taking Smash Bros. into account. I basically feel as if there's nothing to look forward to until MP4 and Bayo 3, which may not even hit in 2019 for all we know. It's fine if people love the line-up, but I surely don't, and am not getting the kinds of experiences I want on Switch right now. That's very disappointing.
So, you want Nintendo to churn out your specifc games again and again and again and who cares what other people want, all that matters is what you want.
Woah, where'd this come from? Is it somehow wrong for him to say Switch isn't providing him the experiences he wants, or to demand more of them? If you want Smash and Tennis, you're already getting the games you want, so what's wrong with us asking for the things we want from Nintendo? Are we supposed to be excited for anything and everything this company churns out just because? I really don't understand this attitude at all.

To be honest though in answer to the whole thread. This is a perfect time to revisit the games from last year that you missed. I'm currently playing Splatoon 2 for the first time because it was reduced in price in the Sale and I'm enjoying it.

Also there is Hollow Knight now and the most popular game of this generation( Arguably) Fornite. 2 excellent games in one month isn't a drought. Let's worry about the future in the future. Something always pops up and to be honest I think a few games will surprise us. People were actually worried last year as well but then Mario + Rabbids turned out to be great. I think the surprise this year could be Starlink.

We had a difficult 6 months this year I'm not going to lie there. I bought Bayonetta and Tropical Freeze annnnd I think that was it. I seriously doubt It's going to get that bad again.

Yes, because this thread is full of people demanding Mario party to be cancelled, so they can make a new kid icarus switch or some shit.

Holy shit dude.

The response:
Hey, more insults and petty screaming in an attempt to dismiss my arguments without doing anything, Like what you have been doing with everyone who dares to disagree with you.

There's wanting more game you want, and then there's screaming how there's nothing to play like a child because there are games that don't appeal to you specifically. I also don't like the single player adventure games you guys like, yet you don't see me screaming how the first year of the Switch had nothing because BOTW and Odyssey obviously "don't count" for reasons that start and end with "I don't like this".
