WW1984 will be DCEU's Days of Future Past, erasing the shitty future. Or Diana could've been transported to and is trapped in a parallel dimension in which DCEU's movies will now occur, thus eliminating the need to explain recasts and such; actually, this would be awesome because then Matt Reeves could place his Batman movie within the universe and we could all forget that damaged Jared Leto stench.
I don't think any DC movie is going to make altering the universe/timeline part of its plot. I imagine Aquaman and onward will be a 'soft reboot' -- continuing some characters/stories, while refreshing others without calling attention to it (like a Batman recast).

Like some of you said, it's 99% a dream sequence or something and they are banking on this building buzz and having people go OHHHHH in the theatre.
I kinda wish it wasn't though, since without Pine or their great chemistry in the first movie it would be nowhere near as good as it was. There's a reason the movie fell apart when it started focusing on Ares and fantastical stuff near the end.

Steve!!! I can't wait for this.

In Patty I trust. This is going to be great.

Why are everyone acting like the first one is suddenly a bad movie? The final battle was super garbage, but the other parts of the movie were pretty good.

This tends to happen with nearly all of these movies that are initially well received. 6 months later, everyone isn't as hot on it anymore. We've even had people showing up every now and then dissing Ragnarok.

Oh god what a fucking awful choice, if he's revived or some shit. Almost infinity war-turn to dust level of stupid shit.

I can take him as a memory or ww daydreaming, but clone or other stuff would be so stupid.

Gadot and Pine had such great chemistry in WW1, I hated to see him go. I'm very glad he's back, and I don't care what shenanigans they concoct to have Pine back in this one. I'm thinking Flash, because, it's always The Flash fucking shit up with timelines. I just hope this movie is as charming and entertaining as the last one.

Why can't this be a Flash time travel mess up? Maybe he wants to help Diana get into the hero game earlier by bringing her love back?

I don't know why seeing them together makes me emotional. I guess Patty real nailed it for me, and made me care.

Mad respect to Chris Pine.
