Cyberpunk, Fallout 76, and Doom look to be running as ads as pointed out above.

You can see when they started.

Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding have gone past Halo: Infinite despite having their trailers uploaded a day later.

people were not kidding about C&C being the most disliked game holy shit

24354624634z1zb0.png

The reveal of it was odd. EasyAllies pointed out that it felt like EA was holding back on the name because they knew what kinda reaction it'd receive if they just came right out and announced that the new C&C was a mobile game. There's really only one way that was going to end up when you do a E3 reveal for a big franchise as a mobile game. You aren't going to get a TLoUPII/RE7/2-type of reaction from that.

Damn, why all the dislikes? I never played C&C.
They closed down Westwood 15 years ago, ran C&C into the ground and killed it and now, 8 years later, they're reviving it as a mobile game, specifically saying it's "Command & Conquer for the next generation." It was as if they wanted this kind of backlash.

If they were smart, they would've announced a proper C&C alongside it to ensure this backlash never happened like other publishers do (Elder Scrolls VI alongside Elder Scrolls Blades for example). Hell, if they hired Petroglyth (which was founded by former Westwood employees) to do it, they probably could've gotten some good will out of fans.

For those wondering RE2 is split between two primary trailers, about 2.5 each so 5 million total.

Wish they put the best parts of both trailers into one instead.

Battletoads is more relevant than Gears 5, Crackdown 3 and Ori???

Battletoad = first trailer and reveal trailer.
Gears 5 = this is weird, but Gears always have a weird relationship with viewership on YouTube. It's like its fans don't watch the trailers on YT but just buy the games.
Crackdown 3 = this is probably CD3's...4th or 5th trailer at this point? Last year's trailer had 2.8mil views. Trailer fatigue.
Ori = 2nd trailer.

C&C used to be big, not Starcraft big but maybe second right behind Starcraft & Warfract for PC RTS. It has a huge fanbase, from all C&C to the Red Alert spin offs.

They killed the series with C&C 3 & 4 that were disapointing and straight up shit.

Now they revive it as... a mobile clone of Clash Royale... People are pissed for good reasons

Remember it's not just about the popularity of the game but also how rewatchable the trailer is. I don't need to watch the Gears 5 trailer twice, but I must have replayed Cyberpunk's one a dozen times to catch all the details.

Pretty much, tlou2 is my most anticipated game, but i can only watch the video like 2-3times. But for something like dmc5, where its so catchy and flashy i can put it on loop.

Yep. And they have destroyed soooo many other beloved studios and series for me too. I think they are like a cancer to the industry. My lonely EA boycott continues.

Mobile.

I don't get it. I know mobile has a lot of appeal to investors due to the possibility of extremely high profits. But you can also retool the game to great on PC, Switch/PS4/Xbox. It might not be the best looking game, but you give people a complete experience on their preferred platform. I'm sure some monetary aspects have to be reevaluated, but it's not like it hasn't been done before.

Also please let me know what you'd like improved for next year.

Ghosts of Tsushima being so high makes me happy.......we need more grounded games set in eastern settings. Can't believe assassins creed didn't beat Ghost to the punch with how many AC games there are. I don't really count the $15 spinoff as covering it either.

Nearly 12 Million views for TLoU 2

Ghost of Tsushima: 8.5 Million views

Death Stranding: 7.8 Million views.

Absolutely phenomenal to see these New IPs getting such high views and attention. Plus they are 8-10 minute trailers and not 2 minutes ads which makes it even more impressive.

Spidey is also doing fantastic with two videos. One with 6.5 Million views and the other with 2.6 Million views.

We live in a world where Kojima's new obscure game (which some claimed to be ''walking simulator'') is more popular than a new potentially open world Halo.

Absolutely amazing, this is what I meant when I say more gamers are having better taste in games.

TLoU - 13.5 Million views, about to cross doom trailer which ran as ads to boost its view count.

Ghost of Tsushima - 9.3 Million views, freaking insane for a new IP.

Death Sranding - 8.4 Million

Spider-Man - 7.8 Million. Another video with 2.6 Million views.

All these sony games were 8-10 minutes videos and were not run as ads. Absolutely amazing.

Pretty impressive considering these trailers weren't run as ads. I actually thought The Last of Us 2 had more views than that.

I've started preparing for this years E3. Let me know if there is anything you'd like changed or improved with the tracking software.

This time around I'd like to include way more videos while simultaneously making the data more accessible. I'll be making dynamic images for charts and graphs that stay up to date automatically. I'm also working on adding graphing software to the tracking website so that people can easily view the data themselves.

I think it'd be good to have a bar chart that has all the major trailer's

- 24/48/60/72/100 hour views at points of time to see how they track within the first week metrics-wise.
- At a broader level, you can then do a week 2/week 3 views update to see which trailer has the best post-E3 legs.

And also, it'd be good imo - to highlight trailers that has very disporptionate views/likes ratio in the dataset to begin with with a different colour, so that people can see at first glance what data is an anomoly in terms of potential ad boosting/etc.

Regarding ad boosting, it's crazy just how much the Fallout 76 trailer was boosted.

The plan is to put an asterisks in front of videos/games that are clearly being pushed like Fallout was.

Also here is a preview of the new charts I have been working on: https://vizioneck.com/forum/index.php?topic=7398.0 I'm hoping the additional sorting metrics really give a good overview of the data at first glance. It's an awkward balance between making the data as digestible as possible and as informative as possible.

Luckily I won't be away on a vacation this year so I'll be able to program more charts and graphs as E3 ends. For 24/48/60/72/100 hour views I'll need to get videos added to the tracker asap but I've been improving that system too.

Halo Infinite will be at least number 2 when they actually announce a release date or release a gameplay trailer, mark my words. The Halo Infinite trailer wasn't run as an ad, just wait until they do.

Lord that Fallout 76 #. No wonder it got ripped to shreds.
Ironic that I think it has on the best E3 trailers.

FO76 was ran as an ad. This is best highlighted when you look at its likes compared to views. It has 34m views on the official Bethesda channel, but only 175k likes. Meanwhile, Part II has 13m views on the PS channel with 420k likes.

Ads played a huge factor, to be clear - but it was not just ads.

https://www.theverge.com/2018/5/30/17408600/bethesda-fallout-76-twitch-stream

The Twitch countdown stream for Fallout 76's reveal has a stable 100k concurrence of viewers at any one time, and it drew 2 million unique viewers.

There were a lot of interest and attention paid towards Fallout 76's proper reveal/announcement. Also, every single influencer gameplay impressions youtube videos for Fallout 76 raked very high engagement metrics.

The Fallout brand is really, really strong. There were a significant level of mainstream and hardcore early excitement for that game - before Bethesda fucked it up in the worst ways possible.

Can we get a graph with the # of Likes/Dislikes to get a better grasp? OP?
