I actually like the ASAP Rocky despite being all over the place. It's not a cohesive album I'll bump from start to finish but there are a lot of songs I will bump. I def like it more than his last album.

New details on the credits for Ye and KSG:

There are 11 credited lyricists on "Yikes" in total, including Mike Dean, Ayub Ogada, and James Mbarack Achieng. ("Yikes" samples the 1976 Black Savage song "Kothbiro.") Pie'rre Bourne and Apex Martin have been newly credited as producers.

PARTYNEXTDOOR has been revealed as a featuring artist, composer, and lyricist on "Wouldn't Leave."

Caroline Shaw is credited as contributing vocals and production to "No Mistakes."

Consequence, CyHi The Prynce, and Malik Yusef are credited as co-writers on multiple songs on ye.

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker has been credited as composer and lyricist on "Violent Crimes," although a representative previously clarified to Pitchfork that Parker is not "on the Kanye album." Pitchfork has reached out for more information.

Justin Vernon is credited as producer on the Kids See Ghost opener, "Feel the Love," which features Pusha-T. He's also listed as composer and lyricist on the album's title track.

Ratatat's Evan Mast is listed as composer, lyricist, and producer on "Feel the Love, "Fire" and "Reborn."

On Pusha-T's Daytona album (produced by Kanye West), JAY-Z is credited as composer and lyricist on "The Games We Play" and "Infrared." Pusha-T interpolates JAY-Z's songs "Politics As Usual" and "The Prelude," respectively

Yikes is obvious. The entire flow sounds like a Drake from a few years ago. You can sorta hear Evan Mast on some of the synth lines...but I mean that could have been done by anyone. With any Kanye project it's hard to say whether he's just being a nice guy with credits or whether they were actually in the room. I wonder who actually decides on the splits for payments.

It makes sense but it's crazy to see Pusha crediting Jay-Z as a writer just for "interpolating his songs".

I think I remember reading Michael Jackson had to get writing credits for Kendrick saying "Annie are you okay" on King Kunta.

not Hip-Hop related, but @ North Americans ITT, we're (Canada, Mexico, US) hosting the 2026 World Cup.

and while it's exciting, i'm bummed the hell out that Vancouver's not going to be a part of it thanks to the trash ass BC government. imagine having a government that rejects the usage of a 52,000 newly renovated (government spent 150 million dollars to renovate, renovation finished in 2011) stadium, the best in all of Canada, for the FIFA fucking World Cup. imagine ever turning down the opportunity to host it. like why even renovate it if it ain't being used for stuff like this, smh smh smh

Spent my whole damn life waiting to see my city host an event of this magnitude, specifically the World Cup as a soccer fan. sigh, guess i'll head out to edmonton or seattle lol

Edmonton?! How in the hell did my bum ass city get it over Vancouver lol. Dope

basically just because because Vancouver pulled out lmao. Commonwealth is a cool stadium, went to one of the Women's World Cup games there. should be good

also if you can please try to get out to some FC Edmonton games next year once the Canadian Premier League gets going, the YEGinCPL movement must continue. also "Al Clasico" (games versus Calgary) should be awesome

i really gotta plan out a whole fucking road trip for the world cup, shit's once in a lifetime

In 2026, I'll be 30 years old.

Why is aging so terrifying.

i go down the existential crisis at least once a week, it's terrifying to think about. especially when it comes to having kids, like i feel that i gotta have em ASAP so i can live as much of my life with them as I can. like if I die before grandkids come along...yikes

anyways, onto hip hop. nas hype brehs, i can smell the classic

Here's my thoughts on "Ye."

Fair warning: it is long and possibly not well-written, so TL;DR:
- This album tries to be insular but doesn't address anything he did in the weeks leading up to this album.
- The arguments that it is supposed to be scattered, inconsistent, and messy are bullshit since they're based on the image of Kanye as a 7D chess player. It's a bit like me submitting a blank canvas for art class, claiming that the lack of paint represents the effects of Lexapro on my imagination. It's bunk.
- I can't tell whether this album is weak due to a lack of care or a lack of time.
- Kanye needs to take an extended sabbatical and care for himself and his family first and his fans second.
- 100% Kanye's weakest solo record. If the first 6 are centered around the 9/10 mark and Pablo is a 7.5-8, then this is about a 6-6.5.

Just finished reading it

Fantastic review

favorite excerpt

There's potential for something meaningful in those bars, maybe something about the hypocrisy and irony of those who've done worse deeds praying for Kanye's salvation. But, that potential is squandered due to a lack of time or just a lack of care. It's a reference that is supposed to come off as wry, darkly funny even, but instead just feels confusing and unnecessarily inflammatory. And that's not even to mention the verse's contrast to "Violent Crimes", with the marginalization of the female victims' pain compared to Kanye's invocations of love, care, and reconciliation with women.
To me, it is a set of lines that demonstrate how shallow and constrained Kanye's thought process at the moment is, and that brings us to the big question behind Ye.

Solid read, last paragraph wraps it up nicely. I'd suggest maybe justifying your text for readability.

Ughh, why tf is the KSG playlist order changed again on Spotify? In the last days it's been the same. Or is this the official one and before it was wrong, lol?

The Pusha T beef won't hurt Drake in the long run, Rap nerds will always bring it up online but for the most part I think Drake is gonna come out of this unaffected. Oh well.

Drake knew that too, when Pusha T dropped his track, I knew that Drake was probably thinking "we'll give this 2 weeks and this will blow over".

I have to be honest though, I was surprised how bad it went for Drake. I really thought Drake was untouchable at this point. And I honestly think Drake was shook too deep down after the Adidon shit.
That's not really exclusive to his audience if you look at the past few weeks. Fans are fans, his happen to be many
Yeah, you're right.

Drake already has one victory, that's more than what a lot of rappers have. He didn't need to beef against Pusha at all in the first place.

The best move would have been to ignore Infrared.

The I'm Upset video is pretty weak but I've never watched the Degrassi so I guess it just isn't for me. The song itself it honestly one of the worst Drake singles tho

I thought I was tripping yesterday. I had saved the first album order and my order had Reborn at the end (which I loved - great way to finish the album) then I looked up yesterday and found out I was listening to the album in the wrong order. Went to spotify, saw the correct order was up and I unsaved/deleted the album from my library. Then I searched up the abum and listened to it again but now my Cudi Montage is playing 4th Dimension. So I have two 4th Dimensions on the album. TF is going on.

Right, Reborn was the last track and I liked it that way :/ Gotta listen to the full thing and see if there are other bugs like you described.

The SOPHIE track you posted a few weeks ago has been stuck in my head, btw.

Wasn't SOPHIE the one who brought out an "imposter" to perform her Boiler Room mix with HudMo yeeears ago or am I mixing up something?
