I wish this was shown every time you turned your tv on so everyone can see the hypocrisy.
I have been disgusted by the left-wing response to this. Opposing our best shot at peace, denuclearization and perhaps reunification because its being conducted by Trump. Who the fuck cares if US makes some concessions? Ever heard of what diplomacy is, you give and you get - that's what happened with Iran and that worked out fine. To see those who are ostensibly pro-peace whip themselves into a frenzy because MSNBC told them so is so disappointing. So, so disappointing. I hope Trump and Kim succeed and we have peace.
This is the thing... people are calling cancelling the war games a 'concession.' Like, America practicing bombing the shit of a country is just normal status quo baseline stuff, and if you want it to end then you're asking for some kind of a favour from the Americans. Incredibly fucked up imperialist worldview imo.

I agree with all of your posts so far 100%, but liberals dont want any win for Trump. And they love to pretend to be tough guys on foreign policy.
Broken clock, twice a day, etc. For whatever reason, our brain addled president has bumbled his way into a major win for world peace and the people of the Korean peninsula. Natsec idiots and rightwing psychopaths in SK & Japan are hyperventilating, which can only be a good thing.
Am I supposed to cry that we cant conduct stupid military exercises in the Yellow Sea or something? lmao
"North Korea's official KCNA newswire is portraying Trump as having given in to Kim Jong-un's "demand""
Isn't he too busy feuding with De Niro to give a rat's ass about this?Has the "Trump the Master" guy said anything about this and 5986D chess?
Well it doesn't really matter what he promised or even hinted at. No actual deal was struck other than to basically continue dialogue. And if I'm not mistaken, apparently congress has to approve everything for this, going forward.

For a new page
Nobody is against peace with North Korea. This is being handled spectacularly sloppy and could back fire as easily as all the other diplomacy efforts have.
I'm ready to be enlightened. So far as I see it, Kim and Trump are both bad people - but they in combination with Pres. Moon have led to the best dialogue and de-escalation of tensions since the Korean War ended. The costs to diplomacy are low in terms of ceding this nebulous concept of 'legitimacy' and the benefits enormous. This is such a dishonest reading of the issues people take with this shitshow. I can't believe you even typed that with a straight face.
It wouldn't matter if Trump told Kim that sanctions would be lifted?Well it doesn't really matter what he promised or even hinted at. No actual deal was struck other than to basically continue dialogue. And if I'm not mistaken, apparently congress has to approve everything for this, going forward.

Backpedal on what? I don't disagree with you on this. lol
Not if he doesn't have the power to do so, nor is the lifting of sanctions (and at what pace) in any writing. It wouldn't matter if Trump told Kim that sanctions would be lifted?
Oh, I totally agree. I'm all for trying to resolve our issues with NK, but so far this has turned into a completely vague shitshow. This also gives cover to Russia/China to remove their sanctions on NK. It's an amateur hour screw up (that is if he didn't promise that). More given away for nothing
Not if he doesn't have the power to do so, nor is the lifting of sanctions (and at what pace) isn't in any writing.
There are no negative consequences at all for promising the lifting of sanctions? Not if he doesn't have the power to do so, nor is the lifting of sanctions (and at what pace) isn't in any writing.

We don't know what was promised. Bottom line, nothing was formally agreed to, other than to work towards de-nuking. If it's not in writing, signed, and approved, then it was officially offered. There are no negative consequences at all for promising the lifting of sanctions?
Stop making so much senseWe don't know what was promised. Bottom line, nothing was formally agreed to, other than to work towards de-nuking. If it's not in writing, signed, and approved, then it was officially offered.
I doubt Trump cares what NK says about him to his people. And nobody believes anything UN says outside of NK. All that has to be said is the idea of dropping the sanctions over a period of time, matching concrete steps of de-nuking was brought up.So Kim can rightly broadcast to his own people and to the world that Trump lied to his face.
Yeah that's a great look that will surely lead to productive discussion.
I don't think you answered my questionWe don't know what was promised. Bottom line, nothing was formally agreed to, other than to work towards de-nuking. If it's not in writing, signed, and approved, then it was officially offered.
It depends what your definition of promised is, in this case. I'm sure Kim is well aware that nothing they talk about, that doesn't end up on paper and signed, actually matters.
I'll ask againIt depends what your definition of promised is, in this case. I'm sure Kim is well aware that nothing they talk about, that doesn't end up on paper and signed, actually matters.

In reality, my guess is the North Koreans were told that once they start de-nuking, they could WORK towards getting the sanctions slowly lifted.
It depends on how it was presented. I can't imagine, even Trump, would just flat out offer to lift the sanctions before they start showing proof of de-nuking.I'll ask again
If Trump promised or even suggested that he would lift sanctions, you don't see any potential negative consequences?

Come on, dude. I get it's fun to shit on Trump - but I find it incredibly unlikely that even he would tell NK that they would drop the sanctions, and that it would happen before any sign of their de-nuking.

lol I still don't see it being tossed out there. Now I suppose it's always possible Trump did a poor job of communicating, and maybe it came out that way - but there is no way in hell it would come out that way in the large meeting with Pompeo and the rest of the team there.
I think you spelled his name wrong...

Why do you continue to give Trump the benefit of the doubt? He's more worthless than the rotted corpse of Osama bin Laden, yet you still seem to think there's something there. Just why?Come on, dude.
