It's random unless you buy a skin/battlepass. Battlepass is the way to go IMO. You get a bunch of skins and other stuff for $10 that you unlock through challenges (easy mostly) and you earn vbucks which you can use to buy the battlepass next month or whenever. I bought a battlepass a week ago and did all challenges and earned enough vbucks already for next month battlepass.
Its decentlt easy to make top 15 or 10 by sneaking around and avoiding encounters. After that though you need to be able to kill great players or get very lucky.

For those who say this is not a good version of the game, this is not for replacing thePC or PS4/XO version of the game. It's portable Fortnite and unlike mobile versions it offers a VERY similar experience to PC and consoles.
It plays the same, it has same content and you can finally play Fortnite anywhere you want, with proper controls. Oh and the game is also free. I can't see anything to complain here

You'll get better. Keep practicing building and shooting. My advice is to land in Tilted to practice firing guns; those are fast matches and you'll learn the place's layout really quickly. For building practice, land in Wailing Woods.
Oh, and switch to Build Pro in the controls. You'll have a much easier time learning that style than the default one, and it's the way to go in terms of learning how to win.
Yea I don't think this is a good version, but I did just start thinking about it like you're saying.... and I can see it. I travel a lot for work, and if I was super into fort nite on pc this would be killer for me..... but as someone whose not into fortnite this isn't gonna all of sudden be the thing that changes my option on the game.
Thanks for the advice. The problem I have right now is it seems like you get shot twice then you die. So when I see someone I get like three seconds to try and shoot them and I just can't aim that fast without gyro. I'll keep trying because it's fun anyway.
For sure. It'll come eventually - it took me maybe 30 games or so get proficient at getting a kill. But the thrill of winning is a real high. Keep grinding!

I'm far from being a huge fan of this game but no one can deny the impact of Fortnite. And we have it in a FUCKING Nintendo handheld. It's just crazy.

Took me a good week to kill someone, lol. But I was on PS4 and I hate shooters. Now on Switch I'm seeing a lot of newbies, eventually you will get used and addicted to the game.
The 50x50 mode is not permanent by the way, Epic keeps rotating new modes, just recently they had 20 player squads, that was so much fun! Five teams going against each other!
For those who said this would be an iOS port - it looks SO MUCH better than the iOS version running on my iPhone X, it isn't even debatable. Yes, still 30 FPS, but other than that the game is much, much closer to the PS4/XB1 versions than the mobile port.

Played two matches. Not really sure how people are able to build so well, I guess having a pro controller definitely gives you an advantage in this game because the joycons absolutely suck in terms of shooting/building. Overall, a really great portable experience to have!
I just checked this out. I've never played any other version, but nothing about the game gave me the impression it's a terrible port. Looked decent (undocked) and ran fine (fairly steady 30fps). Netcode seemed solid as well. Seems like a fun game, but not sure I have the time to dive into it properly.

It's the number 2 most downloaded game, behind Pokémon Quest. Hollow Knight, the first game in the Best Sellers list, is the 7th most downloaded software. It's just that 1 through 6 are free.
What's the point of making an epic account? It says I won't be able to link them in the future if I skip it?
I'm in the same situation. Just looks so complex. I feel like i'd just get destroyed over and over.
If you ever play on any other console except PS4 your progress will carry over.

Ah that makes sense. I thought the most downloaded and best sellers were one in the same. I should have realized the difference.
Minecraft came quite a bit later to Nintendo platforms so it's nice they weren't so behind the curve on this one so everyone wouldn't have already played the game or have been so invested on other platforms to not give this a try. Although, as long as you aren't locked to PS4, it seems pretty easy with this game to move progress between platforms, but unfortunately, it seems a lot of people are just due to trying it on their PS4.
