I wonder how far the NPC relationship systems go and how many will be interactive. It'd be something to be able to find any random NPC and build said relationship.

I have a hard time believing CDPR suddenly got proficient in the gameplay department, which is why I really wasn't a fan of TW3. I have an even harder time with the Rockstar comparisons as they are the kinds of emergent sandbox (besides BOTW) while CDPR has shown none.

I'm skeptical to say the least, but the setting looks awesome. I would love to see GTA in a blade runner type environment.

The team for Cyberpunk is FAR larger than the one for W3 was. They've done a massive amount of hiring and expanding which is what has made the huge improvements in gameplay and open world design possible

This might be the most excited I've ever been for a game, oh my goodness.

It sounds like a dream. I want to see gameplay so badly.

Cool. I was actually thinking this in my head right before you replied. That maybe with all the money they made on TW3 they got some real openworld gameplay designers on board. Hyped.

... im definitely gonna have to replace my 970 for this

if some actual real cyberpunks could go ahead and crash the global crypto market, that'd be great thx

...

(note: no, I don't actually want people's livelihoods destroyed so I can afford a GPU. I DO really want to be able to afford that GPU though)

Yeah its not sounding like this game is going to be for those easily squeamish from violence or opposed to nudity and language

This is going to be an insanely hard M, and I'm ALL for it
All for it. Movies have been allowed this freedom for decades. It's time for devs to be able to express themselves in the same regards.

Oh my god I'm super sad that it's a first person game. Like completely destroyed.

Why only shows demo to press?

1. It might be buggy, you might spot jank, it may dip to 15fps, press understand this is a close door demo, but normal audience will say it's a mess.

2. It runs on insane beast mchine and will probably look different on your console. So why risk downgrade complaints?

3. Might contain controversial content. This might not be the game fans expected. They need to test the water first.

4. Media like you even more if you give them exclusive info.

The previews sound glowing. CD Project did it again. There is only one problem, i want to see all this awesomeness with my own eyes. Hope we don't have to wait too long for a meaty gameplay presentation. The wait for this game will be unbearable.

Fuck man, how much I wish now that I still was a game journalist. I'd travel to Germany this August for Gamescom and see the game behind closed doors there. For damn sure they will be there.

I'm just gonna go ahead and expect to actually see it next E3 and probably with a release date too then. If sooner? Great!

I very much doubt this comes out in 2019. This is looking kind of impossible to run on current base consoles. The amount of detail every character on screen has is kinda ridiculous.

I'm so glad this isn't just The Witcher in a scifi setting with guns. The wait for this is going to be rough

It'll probably run at the equivalent of low to medium settings on current consoles, not high or ultra.

From the VGN article:
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to push this generation of consoles to breaking point. If Cyberpunk isn't a cross-gen game appearing on the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett then I'll eat my cybernetic implants. Not just in the character models and style of the world, but we're talking destructable scenery that explodes in the face of gunfire, drifting smoke, bullet tracers that curve through the air and gently rippling water.

I mean yeah, even from the trailer it seems obvious that this is a next-gen title. I can't even imagine it being cross-gen unless Sony allows companies to do PS4 Pro only for PS5 backported games. But damn does it sound sweet. 2020 can't come fast enough.

My gut tells me holiday 2020 or first half of 2021

I can totally see them going for that early next gen big RPG everyone buys spot like Oblivion did.

Doubtful. As impactful as Oblivion was, Skyrim was much more so. It makes very little financial sense for a one-game studio like CDPR is for the time being to spend years and tons of money and then only release on consoles with a very small installed base. I see two clear options: either the GTAV/TLOU path, that is to say release on current gen and then GOTY Remastered on next gen, or straightforward Zelda: Breath of the Wild path of releasing cross-generation. But they aren't skipping current hardware unless there are insurmountable technical hurdles.

Curious to see the split between TLOU2 and Cyberpunk for Game of the Show awards, if there is a split at all in either direction

Damn. I figured as much. I've been looking for a reason to upgrade the PC anyway; gives me plenty of time.

Exactly.

Like, there's a reason big games launch in the mid to late lifecycle in a consoles life. The userbase is at its peak at that point and these days crossgen is always possible. The idea of any massive AAA game being exclusive to new consoles in the first year of their release is nonsense. And while we're at it, I guarantee Starfield ends up being crossgen.

Whatever the resources it takes to make it run on PS4's is worth it for a company like CDPR.
