Some characters do look off in the new lighting. It's VERY obvious which characters got the most work into them, and which of them were straight up ripped from the old games lol. Hopefully that changes.

from the sounds of it this is smash 4 with some tweaks so my dreams continue to be crushed :) but i'm still hype for the invitational!
Echo characters seem to be the ones that have the exact same moveset from the base character, just with tweaked stats. Pichu isn't considered an Echo character likely because he has a headbutt smash attack and couple of other differences from Pikachu. Lucina, Dark Pit and Daisy share their entire moveset with their base.
I mean, all games are subjective so, cool? I don't know what you are trying to get at here by downplaying all current and upcoming Switch games as not blockbusters?

Hahaha I'll still decide that myself Nintendoboi, but for now I certainly won't waste my time with slightly changed re-releases. After the lacking Pokemon remake Smash (and the non existent Metroid) was my only hope, only to be just another remake.

couple of pros have tweeted about mechanics ingame
-only one airdodge available before landing. directional airdodges put you in freefall while neutral airdodges behave like brawl/4
-dashdancing is back. you can act out of dash as a sort of replacement for wavedashing.
-throw teching is in.
-much lower landing lag for aerials across the board

You select him via Pokémon Trainer, but all thre PT Pokémon can be used as their own characters now because they no longer fatigue.
