Left the direct thread cause of the absurd salt. Really poor arguments/misinformation over there. Let's enjoy this direct!

Awesome games!

Smash/pokemon yeah!

This let's go doesn't look bad at all!

so did I hear that right that you have to trade "link codes" to even battle with someone online?

if so, WTF, can Nintendo please join the 2000s?

Strong reaction to something minor sums up a lot of the response to this game on this forum. People seem so offended by it just because they made an easy game.
Even then, it's not like we're seeing content half way in, at the end, etc. beginning sections of Pokémon have always been easy imo. We can't judge the full game yet

I don't mind increased odds, the new catching system, more pokemon to counter the first gym being avaliable, help options, two trainers against one and etcetera

but this

is directly interfering with the game, not just the difficulty

Handholding can prevent you from enjoying the adventure feeling that Pokémon is all about. Same about the end of wild battles and wild encounters : this was a risk that is at the core of the explorer feeling you need to experience. The games are already full of advices to overcome the little challenges you encounter... Unless they're targeting the 3-6 years old kids, it's too much.

Ohkay? This is actually neat, temp box in your bag, permanent box at the professor, and sending to the Professor gets you IV candies that gets you instant stat boosts. I like this? Yeah, I like this.

They added an extra layer of tutorial to the start of the game, who cares.

Full range of stats and strengthening Pokemon stats confirmed. Catch Pokemon, send back to professor for candy (more sent = more candy) and each candy type boosts a different stat.

This might be a dumb question but has anyone from Nintendo said that we're getting announcements during the Treehouse segments?

I know last year we got Sushi Striker and Samus Returns but I haven't heard anyone say we should expect similar things here.

I know this game is not aimed at me... but that hand holding when the Gym dude asks to see that you have a Water or Grass Pokemon...

*deep breath*

I'm glad that Game Freak is doing this project before the next generation. Hopefully they learn a lot from it, at least technologically, and can leverage that knowledge for the next "core" installment.
Yeah, that's really worrying.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt... that first gym can be rough when you're starting with an electric or now normal type. I had trouble with it in Yellow... still, my solution was to grab a Nidoran and get double kick or whatever, that's annoying that it's so limited. But maybe after the game opens up a bit, they'll let you have a little more freedom.

Then again, Sun and Moon had a ton of handholding, and this one is explicitly aimed at newcomers. So maybe we shouldn't give benefit of the doubt.

So while there's no major "meta" in stats, the CP is the grand total of all stat points. That's really interesting and a cool metric of finding stronger Pokémon in the wild.

Idk what everybody was worried about, this really looks pretty tradition, albeit a bit easy.

Getting rid of the safari zone is a bummer.

I want to like this game-I really like Go-but this seems like another piss easy, brainless game in the vein of Gen 6/7.

Pokemon Lets Go is going to be pure crack for my wife, she loved Pokemon Go and she loved this announcement. I have the game on pre-order ready to go lol

The Treehouse makes it look like a fun co-op experience so it should be pretty good for as long as you go in with an open mind.

Eeeeh, it's a little thing, but not really fond of that whole "Pokemon you catch are fodder to be fed to make your real ones stronger" coming over in a way. That was the part of Go that felt especially un-Pokemon to me, making them feel so... disposible...

(And yes, I say this as a weirdo who has bred Pokemon and ended up with boxes full of babies that'll never get used, so I dunno, whatever.)

Edit: Wait, do you keep them after the send? If so, nevermind.

I have the stream on mute, checking occasionally, and it's always these two grown men holding stuffed animals, lol

As someone who folled OT of Breath of the wild, I can tell you : LOT of people gave up the game because they had 0 arrow to tell them what do next.

What's great is that the game is open so there's no where you really HAVE go.

If people gave up at that point is because they have been groomed by bad game design. Non gamers and casual gamers are engaged by good fun moment to moment gameplay. Not tutorials.

There's a reason botw will be the best selling in the series, even beyond TP on the successful wii.

Oh I'm loving what they show and I'm a big ass Pokémon fan lol.
Come on y'all the routes look so much more lively too(look at Viridian forest holy shot it's active).
Type advantage to face Brock is a bummer though.

anyone who likes building different teams?

you were never FORCED to capture certain pokemon before. only encouraged

and so what if my daughter wants to beat brock with me while we only use metapods? wait we cant, need to show this random fucko an oddish first or he wont let us battle for whatever reason

i'm upset because they're interfering with player freedom, not because "its easier"

It was a simple example of how much the players feel lost without hand holdings, lol

They haven't explicitly said but they announced some Amiibo already and they didn't explicitly say last year either I don't think. I wouldn't expect anything major though.

Wait they only showing two games today? They really were conservative with this E3 wow.
No? They're just taking a break. They did this between Smash and Pokemon too.

You have a PC everywhere now. Catch a grass pokemon then show it to the guy then PC it.
