I think the game will be oriented to multiplayer and every time we're dying will start in different places and all this actors that we see in trailers are npc and we will interact in the game with them.

Never got into MGS so this is the first time I feel like I can get hyped for a Kojima game. Really vibing with the atmosphere in the gameplay bits.

Combination of "I didn't like MGSIV all that much" + "I don't much like open world games" + "Quiet's design is downright insulting" + "lots of people seem really disappointed in it" + "I can't go back to other stealth games after playing Mark of the Ninja and Invisible Inc." + "kind of tired of Big Boss" + "Indie dev = no money, no time" + "huge pile of other games to play".

So yeah, take your pick. Also my game is a retro, 80's arcade pixel art action game, there are many more games with greater applicability to it than MGSV.

Not in response to the poster before me here but my two cents:

I was basically with you on like 75% of those and recently gave it a shot because of it being free with PS+ and 110 hours later I think it's fucking phenomenal. I actively disliked the idea of even trying it out because I dropped MGSIV midway through and had completely lost interest in the series on top of hearing it wasn't good and so forth.

All I'm saying is I think you should give it a shot one day and may be as surprised as I am. It'll be like $10 at GameStop probably by that time.

Also the woman, who works for a different company called AGILE, has a completely different outfit again.
How industrialized is this job really?

Isn't that just Fragile with the fr covered? But she's French so maybe there's something to that.

Is that a city in the background?

Looked pretentious as shit. And I truly hope the bulk of the challenge isn't about stealthing around invisible man-fetuses.

I like how much this trailer explains what was going on in the last one. Watch the two of them back to back and everything comes together better.

Actually I was going to add that since I have it free from PS+ I might in fact give it a shot eventually. I have a ton of PS+ games I want to try, and none of the disk space to do so, heh. Hell, I was lent Horizon a couple weeks ago and I don't have the space to install that. I just have to finish all that I have currently installed first.

Yeah btw this is the black suit. It seems in the game we can wear different suits according to levels. space suits is mostly in the highest levels allowing to even go to space and overcome death hence the sekleton face behind the helmet.
Huh? Ludens the astronaut isn't in Death Stranding itself, it's just the companies cool looking mascot, it's not a suit in the game.

a) game already looks nuts
b) it will never come to PC*
c) it runs on a proprietary PS4 engine
d) game is funded by Sony

*e) maybe in 4 years you can play it on your PC through PSNow

Back ontopic: I rewatched it and I am even more hyped now!!

Got some bad news for you bud

It isn't coming to PC, though.

I thought somebody posted earlier that it was PS4 and PC?

Oh well, the Pro is worth it for how this game looks.

I recommend watching previous trailers, for whoever's still confused. What we've seen is still deliberately incomplete, but certain concepts are clearer if you join the pieces: how's a crater formed, cause of the allergy, or the function of the baby.

I saw on the Sony schedule that Kojima is talking at 4pm PST?

Either today or tomorrow for 30 mins.

More details on the way I guess

Well, it says so on the keykard thats dangling of her belt. Fragile seems to be a play on the word AGILE.

The keycard says Fragile as well.

Also, both Sam and the Girl have that same thing on their waist.

C-Mount.

See hers;

And Sams;

To me, it seems like there are two separate companies doing the same thing? Maybe her company is for the rich, more valuable?

* Fragile Delivery
* And whatever Sam does (Bridges)?

They are both moving things from A->B.

If you look at all the packages that Sam is carrying, there is a label with a red box and a letter (Maybe grade of package, difficulty?)

She also has that, see her bag here: Same logo and Icon.

Hey man, some people like to make simple mobile shovelware and some people want to push bounderies, isn't it amazing how the industry is big enough to support all?

I'm all up for pushing the boundaries and will happily eat my words once they show something that resembles good gameplay.

Also I don't even know why I bother to reply to your juvenile attempt of personal remarks, but hey it's a big world that supports all kind of people.

You might still think it's a shit game, I think I'm in a pretty big minority doing a 180 going the other way. I do have to say that I borderline hated it for about an hour or two but then it clicked like Dark Souls did for me back in the day and it completely infected my every waking and sleeping thought seemingly. Thinking of better ways to tackle a mission, new approaches and so on. I usually hate ultra-open design personally but the gameplay is so fucking good, it actually works to its advantage.

Anyway, if I see a "LTTP: Fuck MGSV!!!!" thread from you in like 5 years on here I'll take the blame!

The void
I was excited for this when it was first announced because it was post P.T., but the more I see of this, the less excited I am/the more the hype deflates. These days I have less patience for "but what does it all mean?!" movies and games.

I will still probably get it when it comes out, but I'm not salivating for new info any more.

We really need a new easily regurgitated generic insult about slower transversal gameplay than "walking simulator".

This looked nice but at the same time didn't do it for me. What I took away is you're a specialist delivery man that have to navigate around ghosts.

Interesting detail: Not all shots are featuring Sam!

There seems to be at least one other character traversing the landscape, as seen in this shot. His hair and face look quite different. Also, he seems to work for BRIDGES, as seen in the second shot.

Also, It seems that different porters wear different outfits. Maybe to signify the load they're carrying? The person carrying the corpse has a distinctly different outfit, but also works for BRIDGES. Maybe another character?

27875493297_1743823a0f_k.jpg

Here's Sam's character BTW, again with a distinctly different outfit that says PORTER. I guess it could mean that his class is unique to these other individuals, or maybe he works for himself, and his company is simply called Porter....

42744672531_d0f40892b9_k.jpg

It's just Sam at a different age. The rain or timefall as Seydoux character mentions makes everything it touches get old, watch how the raindrop on Sam's hand causes wrinkles or how plants rise from the ground, die then rise again. I assume the body Sam is carrying at one point is the dead player, and carrying it to some sort of save location could bring back resources, kinda like Souls games currency.

The guy on the radio said if Sam dies he will be back but the area will still be a crater, so chances are for ressurection or cloning which might explain the baby presence.

Game still looks like a bunch of nothing. And it has been this way for 3 years.

They really had to show something this time. Zero hype for it.

looks like you can walk, climb, swim everywhere. Kinda Zelda BOTW discovery map. Or what if there isn't any map and the social media is helping with that part. When you die and come back, Where exactly do you come back. maybe a complete different spot and lost because a no map. I am really into this game!!!!

I wonder if there's a balancing mechanic. When he carries the corpse he's very noticeably struggling from left to right

I thought it looked cool and I really love how weird everything is.

I had a mad thought whilst watching the show last night. I like the idea of becoming a post apocalyptic postman lol. Greater loads bring greater rewards but make travel a lot harder.
The more you carry the more time you spend in the open and have potential encounters with whatever those creatures are.
If that was an aspect of the game then I wouldn't be surprised if it was possible to meet other players in the world. Maybe in a similar way to that of Journey. If you're in a similar area you connect to each other's worlds and help each other to complete a delivery lol

Rewatching the trailer I get a distinct Lord of the Rings vibe. Not atmosphere obviously, but in a "take the ring to Mordor" kind of way. Maybe the baby needs to be delivered somewhere and it's up to the player to simply get there by any means necessary and deal with whatever he comes across. Man, this game gets me all hot and bothered just thinking of the possibilities.

It just amazing that you play as a regular delivery man. Everything they showed in this looked interesting as hell for some delivery job. I can't wait to see more of this honestly.

So from what we can gather it's a stealth exploration / survival game with some kind of combat system. The vague objective is to traverse Scandinavian highlands to obtain stuff, that stuff including resources and bodies. Exploration includes complex terrain navigation thus using tools when necessary, eg rappel up mountains and use artificial bridges to cross ravines. Transporting items/goods is done in real time and there appears to be various ways to accumulate and carry more goods, either on the player avatar or via assistance (like transport trollies). Scavenged goods can be dropped if the player makes a mistake, such as getting caught in a rapids. Navigation also may include vehicles, such as what looks like a futuristic motorbike, and standard vehicles in the previous trailers.
Something has happened in the game world, such as the invasion of some creature(s), that have disrupted the link between life and death and passage of time. The world has been disrupted, natural order of the oceans and living creatures disjointed, such as causing whales to beach. These creatures appear as invisible or phasing ethereal beings linked to something via ghostly umbilical cords, and prey on the living. Their contact with objects speeds up time, such as causing a person to rapidly age or plants to rapidly grow and/or die. Of note is rain, as when it rains this seems to trigger the appearance of these beings.
Scavengers have access to various tools and equipment that allow them detect the unseen creatures. The key tool is a mechanical light flower linked to a baby in an artificial womb. The babies appear to have a natural intuition and sense for these beings, and when linked to these lights allow said lights to point at, flash, and respond to the presence of invisible threats. Staying silent and showing no sign of movement is the best means of avoiding these creatures.
The protagonist, Sam, seems to have the embodiment of one of these babies existing within him. This differs him from others as while they are reliant on tools, Sam can naturally "sense" them, and when using the tool have a better approximation of their location.
Being caught and consumed by one of these creatures has an unspecified impact on the living, perhaps tethering to the world in ethereal form transformed into another threat. Sam's unique abilities prevent him from ever actually "dying". When captured by the beings Sam will "revive" back into the world, coughs up unusual insects also seen being eaten by another character, but a cataclysmic event will occur leaving a crater at the location of capture. Thus Sam appears to not only have an intuition in detecting the presence of these creatures, but also seems to subvert their unusual engagement with the passage of time, breaking the life/death cycle and tethering to an undead ethereal world. Other individuals who do not have this ability appear to prefer death at their own hands or others than get captured.
There appear to be numerous organisations involved in the scavenging of these lands. Among them include BRIDGES and FRAGILE. Their purpose and affiliations are unknown. Seydoux's character works for FRAGILE, and appears to wear a suit that responds with physical alterations to the presence of the beings. Mikkelsen's character wears military attire, and seems to have some kind of artificial emulation of abilities similar to that of the beings, able to utilise the tethering of life/death and unusual manipulation of beings (eg: reviving the dead).

This game is going to be very weird... And I am excited.

Why is nobody talking about Norman carrying the corpse!?
