DOOM: Eternal announced, sequel to DOOM 2016, debut at Quakecon in August

I hope, even if the game doesn't tell you the reason in the story and you have to read a text log or something to find out why.
When he gets out of Hayden's prison his armor is all fucked up and malfunctioning. He tears it off, throws it in the trash and finds his old suit somewhere on Earth.
I dug the new DOOM but I hope this game has more demons just being every where and less spawning them in an specific areas the first time you enter the designated location.
Someone on reddit mentioned Hayden had control of the suit at the end of Doom. That explains why Doomguy goes with the old outfit.
Also I'm betting the tentacles are coming from the Icon of Sin. If they're going with all the OG designs, they're going with ultimate Doom final boss.

I hope the level design is better than in the last DOOM. I could never replay it because the arena fights where so annoying. Bring back oldschool level design.

I loved DOOM so much this generation, this reveal fell flat for me because we kind of knew it was coming anyway and all we got was fly-through.
The first game was released as Ultimate Doom by the time it properly hit retail for what it's worth.
Pointless, DOOM didn't have them at launch and it looked and played great.
Losing all your upgrades from the previous game in the process.
They said it's a proper sequel to DOOM 2016 so nah.
As silly as Eternal sounds, I do think it's a good thing they didn't just call it "DOOM II". That would of been annoying/confusing.
Imagine having to call the new game "DOOM II 2019" or whatever, to distinguish it from the original.
Can't fucking wait, wouldn't even mind a 2020 release since next year is already so stacked but whenever it comes out, day 1. Look forward to seeing what they share at Quakecon.

idk, I love the name Doom Eternal already. Sounds like a record Ghost should put out.
The armour is how Hayden tethers/controls him so can totally see this.
Makes me nervous. Sounds like some Destiny style persistent online nonsense, or at the very least, some kind of GaaS.

Mick Gordon and the new Doom are tied together down to the DNA level. His music feeds the combat and the combat further fuels the music. To have one without the other would be weird for me at this point.
I gotta say, bringing back enemies from the original Doom 2 for this sequel should've been obvious but I still didn't see it coming. Nice surprise.
Most hyped announcement so far. I must of played through 2016 at least 7 or 8 times. The 2016 game was perfection, I'm hoping they can top it, but honestly I don't see how. Not a knock on the team, but 2016 was just THAT good.
As long as there are still loads of future-tech environments i'm so down! The hell levels were never my fave in DOOM 2016.

It looks even better than DOOM 4 which looked awesome. This looks even more metal than all the past DOOM games combined.
