At least people are mostly positive about DMC5. Can't say the same about Cyberpunk or Sekiro...
Change for the sake of change is dumb. DMC5 is seemingly fixing the only thing that needed fixing (i.e. the free camera) while keeping and evolving the top-class action gameplay.

Yeah he is definitely very scary like a sociopath somehow even creepier than the undead Vergil. I suspect he went through much torture somehow that may be chnaged him.
Going frame by frame, I just found out the enemies at 01:28 are those hell prides from dmc3, you see the same old cloak and scythe, only they bleed blood instead of sand this time. Also later in the same fight, you can see Nero carrying the different devil breakers on his person. When Nero is activating that timestop power, you can see this particular devil breaker turn into a clockwork ah, clock with pulsing energy.

It's been 10 years since we had an entirely new DMC game with gameplay that reached the series' high standards. Since then we got an extremely polarizing failed reboot with inferior gameplay and an unneeded style change, and an expanded version of DMC4 that digs only a little deeper into its combat system's vast potential.
DMC4 is the best selling game in the franchise's history. For a solid decade the series maintained a passionate fan following and stayed in the conversation even as PlatinumGames was dropping the likes of Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta 2.
And yet, you're calling for a reboot to a genre defining (hell, genre inventing) series that still plays like a dream and practically begs for a modern version.

I think all of this is probably just due to the kind of uncanny facial animation - it's detailed, but looks kind of off - the 'Faceapp' comparison is apt at times. I couldn't get this comparison out of my head with the last shot:

A one-two punch of a Dante trailer and a REmake 2 trailer would be amazing.

Maybe the shot in the trailer is Dante literally just coming back from whatever hell he's been through when gone missing. Would explain why he's scruffy, unkempt and gassed to be back. Then he gets all cleaned up and uncle Dante's storyline begins baby

True. He is detailed there is no doubt in that but detailed doesn't mean close to real or normal behaving and natural. Like you said the Uncaney valley effect is just affecting him. they shouldn't have gone for too much realism for a sereis known to be more manga like stylised. This was kinda a gamble.
This reminds me of the creepy realistic looking Omen Trailer of FFXV (not made by S-E) which made all characters so detailed with human details like skin pores and other features but the overall design and animations didn't match up what what real humans look like and behave.

Lots of negative pre-judgement on mechanics and story based on one trailer in here. We don't even know who the third character is or what role Vergil plays and people are already complaining. At least have cautious pessimism instead of all out doubt.
We don't even have a proper shot of Dante in a normal gameplay situation so relax, guys.
