So dark. Much noir. Gotta get my coat. Gotta walk around slowly. In the rain. Do cyberpunks dream of mohawks?

I didn't do a bunch of homework on this game before they showed it. Why would I?

Because having informed opinions is a good thing, and when you don't have informed opinions it kind of just derails the discussion into people pointing out why what you're saying isn't correct. Because misinformation isn't cool, my dude.

And technically, it is in the trailer. In the background. For like a split second. But it was deciphered and posted all across the internet and is found in the OP. And reading the OP is nice.

Because a terrible looking custom character by the developer couldn't be indicative of the quality of the character customisation options in any way.

Just because the default doesn't appeal to your personal tastes, that doesn't mean the game lacks a variety of appearance options that would suit you better. One of the main pillars of Cyberpunk 2020 is a focus on player individuality and style. Visual identity will definitely play a huge role in this game and there will be stuff better suited to cops, businessmen, hackers, etc.

That's not IN THE TRAILER. LOL. I didn't do a bunch of homework on this game before they showed it. Why would I?

It's bolded in a quote underneath the video in the first post. It's not something you have to dig through multiple off-site articles for clarity on. Unless reading an OP before posting in a thread is considered homework.

In the sourcebook theres a fucking stat dedicated to style or like how cool you are, being stylish is really important in these games

I've been reading cyberpunk for decades, and I have no idea wtf people are complaining about with this trailer. It's still high tech low life, and life among megacorps. It's a defiant retort to the Blade Runner aesthetic that's been overused by movies and games. Lots of good examples posted already, my mind immediately went to Snow Crash among others.

Also, I don't have time to find a link myself, but if you look online for the character creator of the board game (you know, what this game is an adaptation of...the game where you create your own fucking character, that game!) you'll see a dark humorous streak running through the descriptions, and I can see glimpses of that humour in this trailer.

People are just straight up trolling or they get paid to write this shit? Some of the reactions here only prove that these people didn't watch trailer /are not really observant / have no clue about Cyberpunk 2020.

Very intriguing. Looking forward to exploring that world and being completely overwhelmed by its size and activities, and probably having to save money for a PS5 or whatever console this will release for.

Again, Nomads and the wasteland (mad max shit) is gonna freak out all these people whose only conception of Cyberpunk is Blade Runner

But is the noir dystopian Cyberpunk the coolest version of Cyberpunk? The fact that most people were anticipating it might suggest so

Anyway, once people get over the initial shock they'll be fine. It's gonna be an amazing game anyway

Really disappointed with this BS "in-engine" trailer. I was expecting a meaty gameplay trailer, especially after they said

"We're impressed with Fallout 4's rollout. They came on stage and said 'It's here, it's real, and it's coming out on this date.' We're going to do something similar. We're going to wait [to reveal the game] until we can show off a very meaningful piece of it."

The style looks on point but I'll need to see gameplay before I get excited in the least.

While i understand all the criticism and the "overscrutiny" of the new trailer i must say that, for me at least, they look like they are on the right direction. I will be waiting for this game with patience and great hope :)

Man I wonder if they are going for a full representation of night city(future la) and its surrounding areas including the nomad mad max x bladerunner shit.

Like honestly for it being 2077 it looks extremely close to 2020s aesthetics mixed with a bit of 2049(mostly in the cars and some gadgetry) everything else is like pure pnprpg cyberpunk.

Again, people only see Cyberpunk as a set dressing, a rainy night with a brooding protagonist rather than how Cyberpunk would probably be much closer to how we live today (I am firmly in belief that we are in a Cyberpunk world or at least the beginnings of one but we don't recognise it because we're only used to the rainy aesthetic).

We're going to need a thread that explains this game's source material, as people are real ignorant on the fact that this game is using Cyberpunk IP, the TTRPG.

Cyberpunk 2020 is my favourite TTRPG ever, but people seem to be unaware that this isn't a new CDPR IP, it's based on an existing IP and the original creator is involved with the game. this guy, Mike Pondsmith. He created one of the most developed universes in the Cyberpunk genre, and CDPR has adapted it beautifully with the trailer (which looks like Night City) - we'll have to see how they adapted the mechanics, but aesthetically it is on point.

You can start reading up on Cyberpunk (the IP) HERE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_2020

Bet he didn't go for a lump sum like the witcher author did lol

These designs are all pretty cool. I want to see more! Hopefully they show more when they do that thing with Geoff Keighley on Tuesday.

Shit this game is going to be GTA, Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row, and the Witcher all rolled up in one, isnt'? This is gonna be the GOTG, the GOAT.

to be clear I'm not here to cape or get hype!!!! for the game because we've still barely seen anything and who knows how good it'll be to play. I just want to hammer in that anyone who is fronting like they know what cyberpunk is complaining about the tone is a clown and a fool to me

I think so just judging from this screenshot which seems to take place in a more rural area (which wouldn't show up in any other cyberpunk work ever oh wait this is like in the opening scene of BR 2049 huh)

I guess all has been said but no gameplay was disappointing.

Plus the tone and style was too "ligjht" for me after the darker first trailer, that captured the tone of the pen and paper rpg better

This looks like Neil Blomkamp presents Cyberpunk 2077, and it's honestly perfect.

That man's movies have near perfect Cyberpunk aesthetics.

It's the palm trees!!

that captured the tone of the pen and paper rpg better
Did it really? because all it really did was present a singular moment. Not the whole experience of the pen and paper.

I hope this game has a multiplayer focus. I want to hangout in a bar and play mini games with people online.
