Haha, amazing, we certainly have a lot of those in the UK. Hopefully it's not too realistic or they will be everywhere. Would be great if they were dynamic, appear after winter with all the ice and rain.
There's a lot of them in the northern part of USA too. All the freezing and thawing of roads requires more attention than the roads down south.

Aw man, was not aware of 60 FPS mode. Wasn't too psyched for another Horizon game, and I still hope they find a way to change up the gameplay a little, but, man, I gotta see this in 60.

For those without an X, how will things fare? 1080p 30fps on the One, and 4k 60fps on the X? Or are there different modes for the Xbox One X, eg 4k native and 30fps, or 2k checkerboard and 60fps or something like that?

I'm not fussed about 60fps, so long as the visual fidelity is high at 1080p/30fps on the One, akin to FH3, I'll be happy.

That is without a doubt, one of the most impressive revels for a racing game ever. It just looks so good and so much fun

Sign me the fuck up. "Playground's Britain looks like a decade of Top Gear episodes brought to life," to quote IGN, has my hype levels off the charts.

We can finally own a house, just beautiful.

"Customize Your Horizon Life. Outfit your driver with new clothing and emotes, own property, and create custom race routes for the community."

and hey they're not like the carbon copy of the same building like we see in The Crew 2

Day one for me, the only thing I didn't like about Forza Horizon 3 was that the events unlocking about a dozen at a time made the map look crowded and I didn't know what to do next, I prefer more linear progression.

Is this our first glimpse at the power difference between the new consoles? This looks like a step up from other open world games.

Damn this looked awesome, haven't gotten in to a racing game since Horizon 3 so I guess this will be the next one

Always online, no AI cars, and gold required would be a deal breaker for me and I love the series.
Dude thee are AI races event. Do full research before jumping to conclusions.

Also they have not confirmed always online part. But now even Fallout is always online. If you against online games then you library will get quite limited as it's 2018

No AI. So if I wanna play the game years down the road for old time's sake I'll be boned? Not that I won't own Horizon 8 or whatever by then.

EDIT: People are saying there's AI races.

I'm not really into racers but Horizon 3 was such a blast to just chill out with on a Friday evening. This will probably be a day one purchase for me.

Left-hand-drivign again? aww... otherwise... I said before that Horizon, for me, needs something different. Seasonal change is not it. Was excited seeing the bikes in the trailer... but... no bikes, right?

I hope theres a city and not just villages and farms.

There's no way London isn't in the game. FH3 had something like Perth (?). That said the best parts of the game were out in the wilds, the city segments felt weirdly empty and sterile.

I wonder if the bikes are rideable

Hope so . I worry they're just part of a Horizon event like the train/boat/jet stuff in 3. The trailer and gameplay certianly showed a lot of bespoke physics and animations for the bikes so I bet they are a vehicle class.

I saw Edinburgh in the trailer.

I hope this one is a lot more focused than FH3. The last game couldn't hold my attention because of how poor the progression system was. It caught that Ubisoft open-world collectathon disease where it had a million markers littering the map, somehow making it even more confusing as to where to go next. And I couldn't stand the whole "make your own races" bullshit. That's the designers' job.

Hoping this one will be more like FH2.

Thinking about it more, we used the Horizon Festival locations in Horizon 3 to fast travel around the map. I assume in Horizon 4, the different homes you can buy will take its place for fast travel/spawn points.

Can't wait to get my Microsoft Forza Horizon One X system.

But seriously speaking.. I'm guessing my expensive ass Driving Force G29 ain't gonna work on Xbox?

Might have to get an equivalent PC.

I thought this was the best thing to come out of the conference. Something which is releasing relatively soon, makes use of game pass, makes use of the extra power of XB1X and had gameplay.

Wait, there's a 60 fps mode?

Well fine, I was going to play the game day one anyway but that seals it.

So being set in the UK means roadworks, potholes, rolling roadblocks, operation stack and congestion on the M25.

Go it Alone or Team Up – Players can choose to play alone, cooperatively or join multiplayer for casual fun or ranked teams. In addition, integrated Mixer broadcasting and spectating features add to an already fun and rewarding experience.

Neat. Wonder if we can lower roofs or windows on cars too like TDU. All the animations are there already with forzavista stuff.

Looks really good. Just wish there was a game like this with sim physics and full simulation with a wheel. That would be amazing.

Also liked the few DC references.

Only one manufacturer in the top ten.
one? It is hard to imagine a top 10 without Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes. What is your source?

I guess it is going to be the ultimate edition. Gamepass is attractive but probably playing for a longer term and it is nice to have all the extras. Also not a Halo or Gears of War fan so that subscription would be more expensive in the long run.

I have game pass but I'm going all in on the ultimate. I don't buy that many games, but there certain developers I want to show full support for, and Playground is one of those.

The fact sheet is mostly a copy of the above page but also has pricing info: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/Forza-Horizon-4_Fact-Sheet_E3-2018.docx

the more or less standard forza model it looks like

So Europeans pay more now? Ultimate edition used to be 99.99€ but will be 109.99€ now? I mean it's cool that the expansions are included now, but Americans seem to get the same old price of $99.99.

Anyway, game looks super awesome. Slightly disappointed about no Asia/Japan setting, but I can live with what they've shown.

Any details of when the game will be up for pre-order on the Microsoft store?
