I will wait until June. 30th before losing hope. I can't believe there will be nothing to celebrate the anniversary of such a lovely character. Even a hint or a tease would be enough.

Well, there's always Inside Xbox tomorrow......

Ah, who am I kidding? Not gonna happen.

Really dug that conference. Couple of disappointments though. Really expected one big holiday 2018 title. Even just a money hat. Like Tomb Raider or something. Also really surprised Gears Tactics is PC only? Super strange. Gears doesn't have a following on PC? The whole Gears segment was a bit weird. Gears 5 does look pretty sweet though. Looking forward to playing as Kat. JD was pretty hum drum.

Otherwise, it was great. Acquisitions was well done. I said before I didn't expect them to just say "Here are our new studios" without showing new games from one (apart from Horizon 4). But I also didn't expect them to have picked up four indies.
Excited to see what Ninja Theory does next. Hellblade 2? Something new? Their video saying MS offered them creative freedom is interesting. Wonder if there is an old IP they want to play with?
Battletoads is cool, but I'm keen to see some gameplay. Glad they stuck to a 2D game.
Super keen for Halo, although Infinite is a dumb name. Looking forward to hearing more. Also Fallout and Cyperpunk look great.

Future looks bright. But I do wish there was more for this year.

I would love a new Kung Fu Chaos. This game was hilarious.

Gears of War 1 is on PC. Gears of War 4 is on PC. People played both those games. (Although GoW4 suffered from Windows Store teething problems.) It's basically the same situation as Halo. Halo has a dormant following on PC who've been ignoring the series for the past decade or so because MS stopped releasing PC versions.

They picked up a lot of promise we these new studios.

Undead Labs: Proven Track Record of successful games. Even if they aren't technical master pieces the gameplay is what carries them to greatness which is what a studio like Remedy is missing.

Compulsion: The thing that was keeping this studio back was money. They needed to put there game in early acess in order to fund it and couldn't even finish there cinematic cutscenes, the acquisition should give them the money and time to build great things.

Playground: Also proven track record of understanding the Forza Franchise and probably even beating the franchise creators in that regard. It's a two studio deal and MS even hinted they are making an open world game(Fable).

Ninja Theory: Microsoft finally has an action game studio that doesn't rely on guns. Not only that but Ninja Theory's video on the acquisition states what has been holding them back is money and the risk of closure. They claim that there goal is to have there multi team reach the level of Hellblade and keep the independent vibe going.

Overall it seems each studio gained financial support to express there creative visions. It's a huge investment that could provide for a diverse lineup of games.

Loved the conference. Have a question about we happy few. Is is now a exclusive release or is it still coming on ps4? The rest of the year is looking really weak now besides Forza.

I'm very surprised with all those buys they didn't get Remedy.

Issue with some of these developers is that they are fairly new and only have made like one big game and very recently.

If they really are in this for the long haul they have to invest in the developers going forward, not just buy them for the IP.

It really was a great conference. Only bad thing is no heavy hitter for this year. Forza and that's it. Gears is next year sometime. Ori is next year sometime(disappointed with no date though). Halo is almost certainly 2020 and possibly next gen.

And I honestly don't think they are done with acquisitions. They made so many so quickly. I think they still may get 1-2 more in the coming months. I would be happy with just obsidian and no one else.

Huh. Well there you go. Legit did not realise it had been released on PC.

I think its cause Remedy is already working on a few games over the next few yrs.

Kaironaut 343i is calling Halo Infinite the next mainline game and 343 Industries also posted on Twitter that Infinite is "the future of Halo." I don't think it's a spin-off.

Also 343 Industries said on their blog it's a follow up to Halo 5's story but at the same time it's accessible to newcomers and a very different kind of Halo experience. I think it's like a reboot but at the same time it's a sequel (similar to God of War).

I hope they really go 'back to basics' Halo 1 was complex but retained a great semi sandbox for encounters. More of that please.

I always wanted to see a Halo game where one of the Halo rings was the actual map - open world to explore... maybe this is it.

http://news.xbox.com/en-us/2018/06/10/e3-2018-jump-into-games-faster-with-faststart/

Unlike the current "Ready to Start" system, which is manually configured during development, FastStart uses machine learning based on how gamers actually play each game. What's more, as an Xbox platform-level feature, developers will not be required to do any extra work for their titles to experience the benefits of FastStart. While FastStart does not speed up download times, by identifying which files are needed to begin gameplay and prioritizing the download of those files first, you can expect to jump into your game, on average, twice as fast as you did previously.

That means if a game previously took 30 minutes to download and play, you will now be able to begin gameplay after just 15 minutes. In addition, since FastStart takes advantage of machine learning, we will continue to improve our algorithm over time getting players into the fun as soon as possible.

Games will still download based on your local bandwidth, and you'll need to have an internet connection with at least a 20Mbps download speed to take advantage of FastStart. That minimum speed helps maximize the number of users who can take advantage of FastStart while minimizing the possibility of experiencing gameplay interruptions.

Do you guys think SlipSpace could be a engine PG may use as well for Fable? Or some other engine?

The graphics shown today is just astonishing what developing for the X day 1 can do :)

So One in USE And One In Canada

You are right Why u get Ban for it?

People say I was smoking but Yes I did talk about one USA , one Canadian and DMC 5 (Exclusivity was not my mistake)

I Did talk about two canadian studio : Compulsion Games and Scavenger studio . I was hopping for the first one but Gearbox was around ..

I also name Ninja theory as a possible target two months ago. I did talk about Santa Monica studio put the PG move on the map.

My prediction for third party were not accurate ( 7 ON 18 were good)

I'm kind of hoping they acquire more devs before the end of the year.

Tunic looks great for an indie title. The shout out to Halifax was cool. Nova Scotia needs more game design specific skills to start growing it's economy.

Great OT but I have a slight nitpick. The image for Turn 10 is from the Forza Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain expansion from Playground Games. I do know that Turn 10 provides assistance to PG but I do think most players associate the Horizon series with PG and not Turn 10.

Just a minor thing. Looking forward to what the future brings.

Pretty disappointing to see how people have responded to the Ninja Theory acquisition. It's inexcusable to prefer a company go under than make games for a platform that isn't your preferred platform.

That's an odd thing to say when their last game greatly out performed their expectations.
