Xbox One Backwards Compatibility |OT| Who wants to pay for remasters?

Whoa, San Andreas finally booted up. It acted weird a few times like booting up then crashing after the "do you own this" message (usually the message comes up before the game even starts), but then it went with "getting your game ready" and "... is Ready to Start" and now it just works!

Whelp! It's midnight now, time to go to bed...

Am I imagining things or has the latest version of the emulator they're using improved the visuals on non x enhanced 360 titles a bit? They've been updating their older titles in waves over the past 4 weeks or so to match the version they used for the last enhanced wave and some of these games look better than they did as far as I can recall. Just tried condemned and Banjo and while you can still see shimmering to an extent in the distance it seems much reduced and textures and character models look cleaner than I remember.

And newer games are pretty nice looking...even old as balls titles like saints row 1 and Table Tennis. Possible implementation of Forced AA?

I'm not familiar with the game though, so I could be wrong. Looks like there still some paid DLC that works with this version of the game, I dunno if there's one that has all the DLC included.

Hi guys, first time opening this thread, I just want you opinion. Is Beyond Good and Evil 1 worth it for Xbox One X? Does it hold up?

Also, i dont want to look at gameplays and I am lazy to read. What exactly is Fable 2? Am I correct if I think that second one is best in series? I want to check it out but have no idea what to expect outside of open world and some fantasy.

I'm having a similar issue to the several other posters with GTASA. For what it's worth I own the version digitally that got delisted awhile back in favor of the newer port (the old one was under the Xbox Originals branding from early in the 360 days). I assumed with the wording on the Rockstar newspost "Both the original Xbox release and the Xbox 360 version of San Andreas will be backward compatible" that my version I bought would be included. Hopefully that's the case and this is just a fixable issue.

I really love the work that goes into the BC program and it's great that, in theory, they are granting a license for the available version to those with the older disc one but it would feel odd and incongruous with their ethos if for whatever reason the digital owners aren't able to get that same license entitlement.

According to my console Sonic Racing Transformed hasn't been updated since November 11th 2017...which is likely when I reinstalled it after buying the One X and moving everything from my old system to the new one. So who even knows how old the code for that version of the emulator is as they seem to do these wave refreshes once or twice a year.

And on loading up sonic ASRT i see tons of stairstepping on the race lines and corners in the far distance and jagged edges on all cars. I'm not seeing such on saints row 1 or burnout both of which just came out in the last month.

I likely am imagining this just saying at first glance it does look different to me at least.

Just loaded up Saints Row III which is also using an update from back before November of last year and compared it to the more recent II and I...there is a very definite increase in stairstepping and jagged edges in III over the other two games. Especially when you take to the sky and fly towards buildings in the distance. Shimmering is everywhere in III.

Yeah, it is the complete edition. There's no point in buying the South Central DLC. Not sure if the paid vehicle packs are included, though.

I'm in the same boat. I hope it's not disc owners only for the OG Xbox version.

I think the Complete edition is the only one there is now. I got that version just using my old hard copy.

BG&E is a cult classic and worth trying, perhaps somewhat dated controls.

Fable II is the best in the series gameplay wise, but the story is rushed towards the end.

Just a heads up for people who like to have physical copies of games...

Digital copies are cheaper now, since they're on sale for the E3 sale thingy, but I'm pretty sure there are people out there who prefer to have physical copies. deal over

Am I crazy to think the 360 version of SA isn't that bad? I still have Rod Stewart and Eddie Money on K-DST, missions have save points for reloads, and the draw distance seems a bit improved.

The worst thing about the 360 version of SA is the fact that there are way fewer cars on the roads.

any idea why i still can not buy panzer dragoon orta xog from the store? it always aborts my credit card purchase as "sorry purchase can currenly not be completed". this pertains since release. my credit card is ok and i bought multiple other games and movies in the meantime. only pdo causes this error message.

i am on the german xbox store (location) with language set to english.

any ideas?

Same issue with me but the Australian store and I'm trying to buy Saints Row for that cheap cheap price.

Speaking of cheap prices, is there any way to find what titles are going for super cheap? Was lucky to find that Saints Row 2 was a bargain, but can't find how to search for price :/

And to those having trouble buying games, try doing it on your pc/phone through your appropriate store.

And change the store to your country (mine is AU in that link). I've found buying through the web store marketplace works when buying on the console doesn't.

"To celebrate the announcement of Dead Or Alive 6 and the brand Ninja Gaiden 4: Ninja Gaiden 2, 3 and Dead or Alive 2, 3, Ultimate 1, Ultimate 2, 4 and 5 are all backwards compatible" - not trying to get my hopes up because that won't happen.... But I like to dream.

Edit: to clarify, Ninja Gaiden 4 is also part of that dream.

Welp...with them acquiring Ninja Theory we can probably expect Kung Fu Chaos and Enslaved coming sometime in the future.

I don't know if anything further is being announced about BC, but remember that there is a new episode of Inside Xbox tomorrow so there could be some cool BC-related stuff there.

I'm not sure why anyone expected them to unveil any BC games at E3. Only reason we had anything last year was because they added OG Xbox. Otherwise they don't do announcements of BC titles at trade shows.
